Wildfire - Oak Brook Ratings and Reviews
I had high hopes for Wildfire, having had a friend tell me it was a favorite, except for the merely "okay" steaks.
Unfortunately, I found little good about it including service. The server failed to ask us if we wanted something in addition to water to drink! The chopped salad with chicken was good, though it could have had somewhat more flavor. The lime dressing helped, as it was bright.
However, my classic Angus burger was dreadful! It was burnt and tasted awful. The manager replaced it without question -- and did not charge for it, as was the right thing to do. But even the replacement was not a terrific hamburger. The fries, however, were good.
I eat out a lot and when I get great service I like to commend the people who went the extra mile to serve my party. Ruben was our waiter and Elias was our busser both were exceptional, both continually asked if there was anything else they could do for us, both exceeded our expectations, both were gentlemen polite, refined, good people. The food was exceptional as always at Wildfire, the drinks generous pours, the ambience like a supper club, and dessert very good. You can’t go wrong with Wildfire, try it once and you’ll try it again and again.
My wife and friends have been to Wildfire previously and we were all looking forward to the dining experience. Our waiter and wait staff were fantastic, but the food texture and overall quality left a negative experience with us. I would not recommend this as a go to dining destination.
Wildfire never disappoints! Always great service, delicious food and amazing atmosphere! If you are part of the Lettuce Entertain You club you get a special treat for your birthday. Make sure to make reservations well in advance. For Friday/Saturday/Sunday make your reservations at least 1week in advance. We drive 45 minutes to the nearest Wildfire and it’s always so worth it!
I usually go for lunch with friends during the week. I suggested
to my husband that we go for a date lunch. He had not been there
for years and he really enjoyed his meal.
I have to say our lunch was all the better because of the great
service! Our server was Frances. She was a delight! She was very
attentive, right on top of things the whole time. She came by to
ask how our meal was, again if we needed anything else. She made
her presence known our whole time. She is to be commended for
excellent customer service. She is very good at what she does and
that in turn makes our experience very enjoyable. You are lucky to
have her on your team! We/I will request her on future dining if she
is there that day.
We were shoved into a small corner and almost had food dropped on us several times because the waiters came through the opening with the food above their heads. We ordered soup which we never received. Our waiter was not around for drink refills or more bread or anything. We had to ask someone passing by to get him for us. It was also very noisy in there (acoustics are horrible)
Lynda was our server for lunch. She was amazing! She let us catch up without feeling rushed, was there enough to be attentive and adjusted service perfectly for us. We were celebrating my best friends engagement and she even acknowledged the occasion and sent out a dessert. The food was SO too! Thank you Lynda and Chefs for a great experience
The service was excellent, table was ready, no waiting. The wine list was great! We were a little late and they have a 15 min grace period so that was very nice. The only thing I would complain about is that we asked for a ribeye medium well but it was completely pink. We felt bad to send it back but for the amount we spent that was disappointing. Just be clear when you order I guess. We went for a birthday, the dessert was good but the cookie was a little over baked for my taste. They put a candle in it so that was nice. Overall I would go again.
It has been a while since we dined here. Quality of food has deminshed and we were disappointed with our meals
Salad had one tiny piece of avocado less than half a teaspoon
It barely had bacon or blue cheese.
Medallions were over cooked mashed potatoes were cold and the trio dessert one of them was hard as a rock (brownie ice cream)
We will not be returning as there are other establishments far better for the money.
It was our first time at Wildfire. We decided to try it on date night. Our server was nice but seemed uninterested. We were looking to order drinks and before my boyfriend could even order his our server walked away. Food did't take long to come out, however, my filet was very over cooked. I didn't feel like it was very good value as the steak was around $30 and you only got one side. My experience in other restaurants, I've always gotten a salad/vegetable and a side (usually a potato). This dinner comes with only one side. The quality did not match the price tag. Our server only checked in on us 1 time during our meal, which is fine we prefer to be left alone, however, when our drinks were empty he quickly went by the table grabbing the glasses - never stopping or asking if we wanted another. He did come towards the end to ask if we wanted dessert which we declined and he left the check. I did have a $10 off coupon from signing up for the email club, but was unable to use it because, again, the server just zipped by the table grabbing the check book - never stopping to see if we needed anything. To my sight the restaurant did not look extremely busy, steady yes, but not so busy that he couldn't stop and make sure we needed anything else. Overall, I like the look and feel of this place. It definitely is place we wanted to try, but because of poor service and food quality, we probably will not go back.
Just flew in from Washington DC and we go to the best restaurant in the greater Chicago area.
Wildfire Oakbrook is in a league by itself.
The food is outstanding, great quality, and generous portions.
Always cooked to your liking.
The drinks are amazing....they use fresh ingredients, not the syrup everyone else uses.
Yes, it takes more time, but the difference in taste is big.
And the service, we are treated like family everytime we fly in town.
They are servers that are professional and super polite and engaging.
Thank you for a great meal!
We haven’t been to Wildfire in Oakbrook for a while but I’m happy that we decided to go back.
I always like the atmosphere at this location, kinda clubby without being stuffy. We made a reservation online so a table was ready for us as soon as we arrived. We were given a very friendly welcome as we walked to our table.
I can’t say enough good things about our server ‘ Marisa ‘..she was just wonderful. Although the restaurant was quite busy, Marisa took time to explain the menu, the specials, and really gave us her undivided attention. She turned our Friday afternoon lunch into something very enjoyable and memorable. My sincere thanks to her.
Of course the food was very good. Great soups...especially the French onion.
We’re already planning to go back again...this time with some friends.
