Wildfire - Oak Brook Ratings and Reviews
Amazing steaks, chops, fillet and prime rib with special crusts. And I loved the chops. Had them the first time. Should have ordered them again. I gave the lower rating for the food I had this time, I ordered the salmon. It was very good but not for the price. I expected it to wow me like the chops did. So it's a five if you get the chops or meat.
Service was outstanding as always. Our table was by the kitchen which would likely be worse on a weekend night. We were there on a Monday and it was loud sitting there but the place is still very nice. Our first visit was better, so I would still recommend it and go back for a meat dinner. Then it seems more worth the cost.
It would also be good for a meet up with friends at the martini bar. I would have wine or beer, so it's not the martini bar itself that attracts me. I like the ambience.
Food was great, Waiter was nice. However, when we sat down my glass was very dirty, still had crust on it. It got exchanged. Ordered a bottle of wine, my wine glass was full of finger prints. I usually dont complain about this but it was really bad. My bill was $150, the least I can get for a nice restaurant is clean dishes.
Our Experience Saturday evening at Wildfire Oakbrook can only be described by the word perfect. We had requested a quiet table through OpenTable and the restaurant could not have been more accommodating. This being our first date I couldn't have asked for anything more and my guest felt the same. It was a memorable evening for both of us made more special by OpenTable and the wonderful staff at Wildfire
We had Alice as a server. She was patient, diligent and friendly. We had made a reservation and were able to be seated immediately. The food was phenomenal and we did not have to wait long at all for food although it was busy. Excellent meal, excellent service.
Lunch time is busy so it is best to have reservations. We had a comfy booth which was nice. Had the Tuscan kale and spinach salad with blackened salmon. It was very good. Table cornbread was also very good and warm. Server plated and served my salad which was nice. She was attentive but not intrusive. Great options to choose from. Parking is tough in the area but they offer valet for $4. Very good lunch.
For many years Wildfire was our family's favorite restaurant in the area. The last two times I have been there it was disappointing. This past week was the worst by far. Our waitress was a mess personally, she didn't get our order right, made excuses, disappeared most of the time AND the food was sub-standard. My Salmon was dry, overcooked and totally stuck on the cedar board. The corn bread which has been delicious for months suddenly has cayenne pepper or something added to it which was awful. Their prices are going up and the quality is going down. My friend's sandwich had VERY hard bread and her water for hot tea was tepid with the wrong type of tea. We aren't rushing back. Feel free to send this to Wildfire.
I was early to meet friends for dinner and since your policy won’t allow seating your guests until everyone arrives (which I think is an awful policy), I waited in the bar. My server was Carie, who was excellent: knowledgeable, friendly, patient, as I attempted to decide what wine to drink, and helpful in her recommendations. As someone who dines out frequently, I’ve experienced few servers who truly are outstanding, but she really was wonderful-she went above and beyond to provide great service and my guess is she’s like that for all your customers!
The food was presented well and tasty. The waiter was excellent and tried to be accommodating when we told him our booth was COLD—like sit with your coat on cold. That was appreciated and somewhat more comfortable, but don’t know if we’d go back in cold weather!
Food was great, server not too attentive, spent most of time with larger parties. First mediocre service in all of my visits. I understand that is where the larger tip is, but considering we don't waste the server's time with questions and order efficiently, you would think she would work harder for us.
I recommend trying the steak with the crust of your liking on top. It was full of flavor and tender. Also the turkey burger was ordered at our table and it tasted great. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great meal to sit and enjoy after work.
