Wildfire - Lincolnshire Ratings and Reviews
The food was great, however because we had the worst waiter, it took forever to get. My gluten free bun was cold. The food took forever but was tasty. Desserts took at least 20 minutes to get to us. The waiter ruined the surprise to my son and mentioned his birthday. From the beginning this waiter was the worst. Intrusive and annoying.
Our server was fantastic - very attentive and helpful, the food was very good - though our baked potatoes were just slightly under done but overall the meal was terrific. We liked the option of having a 1/2 size dessert to share as well. And we'd love is creme brulee was on the dessert menu regularly (it wasn't the night we were there).
We came for a leisurely lunch on a Friday. We are frequent diners at Wildfire. It is one of our favorites restaurants. The gluten free options are fantastic! Our server (I wish I had gotten her name) was just great. But... this was the second time at lunch recently that the timing by the kitchen was way off. It took over 30 min to get our apps then our entrees arrived about 5 min later. The first time this happened a few weeks ago we thought it was just one of those days, but same issue, twice in a row is worth a mention. Other kitchen errors this visit included my dressing not being served on the side with my salad and a long brown hair in my husbands mashed potatoes. We hope that the management reads these reviews and takes note.
5 of us met for lunch, and I believe everyone was quite pleased with their meal choice. When I first made the reservation, I specified a quiet area because 3 of us are hard of hearing. When we arrived, the music was loud, and we did ask for it to be turned down, and it was turned down a little. This, I feel, is a problem in many restaurants. I have food allergies, so the wait staff pays attention to that. I believe our server was Max, and he was excellent. This was not my first time there, dining in, and have always had very good food. When I worked in the area, I enjoyed carry- out lunch many times. One of the major things I really appreciate that Wildfire has done, is when they give you your receipt, the suggested tip amounts in various percentages is there. Most restaurants provide that on their receipt, however Wildfire does it correctly. The tip percentage is based on the sub total, not including the tax. I do not pay a tip on tax, and I've even written that on prior receipts. Overall, the music was too loud, but great food, and great service - I'll definitely go back.
We went to wildfire for the Thursday night special dinner—roast duck. Although we arrived by 7pm, the “special” was already unavailable. Our server told us that only 15 duck dinners were available that evening. Our second choice, the turkey burgers, took over an hour to be served. The restaurant offered us nothing in compensation.
We were seated near the kitchen, the already noisiness was even more noisy. We asked to be seated in another area, that was no problem. Flatware was dirty--water spots. Not a place to care on a conversation, background music and energy in the room made that difficult. Had lamb chops, very good.
A friend and I were going to see a show at the Marriott Lincolnshire and decided to do Wildfire for dinner beforehand. Since the show was at 8, I made the reservation for 6:15 (they didn't have 6 available), which I figured would give us plenty of time since the theatre is only about 5 minutes away. Well, despite getting there at 6:15 on the dot, we did not get seated until after 6:30, which basically meant no time for appetizers or desert, which is too bad, because having been at other Wildfire locations, I know that their deserts are great. To speed things up, we ordered an appetizer as a side dish with the meal and that was a good compromise. I had the NY Strip and my friend had the Porterhouse, and they were both excellent. Our appetizer side was the bacon wrapped scallops, which were also fantastic. We would have loved to stay for dessert, but since we finished eating around 7:30, figured we did not have the time, so we got the check and left. Our waiter was very professional, when we told him we were in a bit of a hurry, he made sure to bring everything out quickly, yet we never felt rushed. The pacing of the meal was great, it's just too bad we couldn't have been seated at the time we had the reservation for. I'll definitely go back but probably not as a pre-theatre dinner.
Disappointed. Have dined at Wildfire many times but this one was worst. Caesar salad with watery, poor tasting dressing. My fish was over-cooked. Dining partner sent food back to be re-done: “blackened” preparation had no taste. Second try was better. Server inattentive at times, condescending at others. Apparently got annoyed with us, never offered dessert menu. Lots of other steak and seafood options in the area. I will choose others next time.
The constant back and forth with staff and carry out is a lot. It is very loud also. This use to be one of my favorite places to eat either I don't recall all of this or it has changed a lot. Food was over cooked but tasted good. The manager was very accommodating.
We dine here very often because it is always a good time.
The food is good and the service is good and reasonably price for this type of restaurant.
Baked Onion soup, shrimp and crab bisque are excellent, and my choices for dinner our salmon and ribs. Don’t forget the wildfire chopped salad.
You could choose apple pie or key lime pie and won’t be disappointed.
I had been to this restaurant for my b-day 3 years in a row, with friends and family one time and with family only the other times. I was never disappointed with the quality of food, services and friendliness of personnel. I gladly recomment it to all friends and co-workers.
Wildifre is one of our favorites and we carry out frequently. We were disappointed that our service was subpar while we celebrated our anniversary. Our server disappeared for periods of time and was not attentive. Another server took care of us for the first 20-25 minutes of our dinner. The food is always great and despite the poor service, we will be back for carry out.
I do not eat pork chops very often as too often these taste 'gamey' to me, really doesn't matter where I order them, or even if I make them at home. However, am in love with the mushroom crusted pork chops on the Wildfire menu. They are just fantastic and never gamey--highly recommend this dish, better than the steaks! Wildfire has maintained a consistency and quality of food for many, many years which is why I always returned to it again and again.
Won't go back again. Use to go regularly but not any more. The food quality has gone down. It's loud and tables are cramped too close together. For the 3rd visit in a row they were out of their daily special by 6:30pm. One person in our party got the scallops and they did not taste fresh. There are better Lettece Entertain You options for us to start using.
Saturday night was very crowded, very noisy, a lot of commotion, even with reservations waited 30 min. Had,steaks which were good but not great and very expensive. Not a good date place most tables were large not easy to connect with other person. Bill for 2 with 3 glass of wine and one desert and 2 steaks and tip was $180. This was the most expensive date price this year and it didn't feel good as other places I have. Been to. Not bad, but not as good as its reputation, you will definefely find better along Milwaukee Ave.
So bad it could have been from a movie. 30 minute wait with an 8:15 PM reservation for a table for 2, not 6 or 12, but 2. Comped an appetizer. Waiter took our order and came back once to say the food was almost ready - but it wasn't . Waited 45 minutes for a hamburger and a salad. The fries were disgusting greasy and limp. Yuk. Manager said it would be no charge, but not the most pleasant way to spend two hours!
