Wildfire - Glenview Ratings and Reviews
Our server was Denise. Was very good, when we had questions about the menu. We tolded her we were not in hurry and she spread out our dinner very nicely. Would asked to be seated in her area again. Enjoyed the 16oz Prime Rib. Asked for medium, it was perfect.
Our server Dominic was by far the best we have ever had here and they are all pretty darn good dobthat is saying a lot. He was extremely knowledgeable about the food, wine and drinks made our evening so much more enjoyable with his friendly demeanor and professionalism.
They finally had the parmesan crysted ribeye medallions with sauteed mushroom caps available!!!!! They used to have them on the menu but always were out of them every single time I tried to order them. Then they took them off the regular menu (about a year ago) and said they would have them on special...never saw them on special until yesterday! Ordered them and now I know why they are so hard to get. Amazingly juicy and tender ribeye cap strips (not round as the word medallions normally means with regard to shape) which is the best overall beef cut around (flavor & tenderness combined) were grilled with a parmesan crust which totally accentuates the umami in the beef.
The Wildfire Manhattan at $15 is steep but well worth the smooth flavor of the Basel Hayden whiskey and the ample size...
We went to Wildfire to celebrate and use my birthday dining coupon. Our waiter Ben was very attentive with hovering... he had a good pacing for the meal. He refreshed the kids drinks and offered us a another cocktail.
Ben's real talent was to engage the children (many times the staff will look past them to the parents)... he thoughtfully took their orders and even commented on the good choice they made--without being over the top.
It is rare to have a sub-par meal here--he just elevated it up a notch.
We were visiting Chicago for a weekend family event and snuck away to celebrate our anniversary - our local friends recommended this place to dine and they were spot on- started at bar and had fantastic martini and bar tenders were super friendly and knowledgeable about their menu - Went to a booth in main dining room where we enjoyed a fabulous meal and the service was incredible! Highly recommend this place to dine for every day meal or special occasion as they have something for everyone.
1st time trying scallop appetizer. Flavorful. Corn chowder with shrimp /crab - is a signature soup. Peppercorn mahi with Portobello was well prepared. Brussel sprouts - good seasonal vegetable. Short rib special - above average. Disjointed service with one server helping another, in a smaller room , took longer than usual.
Wildfire is always a special treat. The food is outstanding. You can order your favorites or find an appealing daily special. Portions are more than generous. Many things are "shareable," meaning that each person can order an entree and there's plenty for others at the table to taste. Their signature carrot cake is the best on the universe!
Second year in a row celebrating thanksgiving at this restaurant. Food was outstanding, but waitress was not good at all. I have been to various Wildfire locations numerous times, but this waitress was by far the worst. When you have one person at the table allergic to gluten out of ten, don't bring family size portions of gluten free food! The waitress really struggled with this aspect. Last year, eh simply made individual gluten free portions for the person with the allergy.
