Wildfire - Eden Prairie Ratings and Reviews
Wildfire is usually reliable. We've been here many times. This after-movie late dinner was so-so. Our waiter was nice enough when he bothered to pay attention, but he ignored us more than not. The bus help was, frankly, obnoxious. We were seated at a table near the busser station (itself annoying given that there were plenty of tables in nicer spots) and 2-3 of them spent at least 20 minutes hanging right next to us laughing and talking loudly (in Spanish, so we had no idea what they were saying). I found it quite rude. I had a Caesar salad to start with, which was not impressive, due in no small part to the store-bought croutons. The BBQ chicken, though, was quite good and so was the spinach. My wife said her cod was also excellent. Overall, they could do better, but I'm sure we'll return in the future for at least one more chance to see if they can step up their game.
I brought two teenagers and we had a great time. It felt very festive in there. I appreciated extra touches of the server such as serving three portions of a large salad on plates instead of us having to pass it around. The teens had steaks which they enjoyed and I had walleye. It was too rich the way it was prepared but I am used to that at restaurants. They also have delicious bread.
My daughter and I decided we would stop and have a burger before doing some Christmas shopping. We had given a baby shower here several months ago that was absolutely amazing. Food and service were phenomenal; but it was a catered affair. So we had not had the opportunity to just stop in for a bite to eat. Well worth the stop. The burger was cooked perfectly. The cornbread was amazing. Our server was lovely. Ordered dessert to bring home - so good! It was a great way to kick of the day. Next time? Crab cakes eggs benedict are on the agenda.
We were taken to our table right away and servers were there immediately. Great selection of wine. Service was very good (friendly and helpful) with beverage refills and plate clean-up continuous. Vegetables in salads were crisp, tasty and colorful. Steak and salmon both tender, moist, and flavorful. The space was full of customers; yet we felt like we were alone and private at our table.
Wildfire is a classic, old school steak house with wonderfully grilled steaks and other dishes, very classy service and a broad range of options. We really enjoy every trip to Wildfire! We did not any desserts but they looked sensational! Our thought is maybe to comeback and just try the desserts because they looked so good!
We went with our family for my husband's special birthday. Everyone found something on the menu which appealed to them and that was good as we had two vegetarians in the group. We asked for seating in one of the back rooms and they accommodated this request. Service was attentive and quick. Food was tasty and nicely presented. We all had a great meal!
The setting and service were great but it will be our last family Thanksgiving dinner at Wildfire. The food was mediocre, maybe because it was prepared in advance but some things were not acceptable - green beans didn’t have the tough ends cut off in preparation, the stuffing was mushy and gooey, and most items were not up to the usual standards of the restaurant. To top it off, it looks like they massively increased prices this year to almost $50 per adult before wine/ drinks. I could have a much better dinner than we did for $50 for food plus the bar tab. Next year, going elsewhere or will make dinner at home, it was not worth it.
We had Thanksgiving dinner. The food was delicious. Our server was not very attentive and rather rude. I understand it was busy but we were paying guests also. Our drinks were delivered but never refilled. We asked for more food after waiting for her to check on us after20 minutes.
Wildfire is usually very consistent and delicious and one of our go-to restaurants. However this evening we had less than terrific food, even on our their usual home runs. Our wildfire chopped salad had very cold chicken on top, big mounds of blue cheese "crumbles" and hardly any tomatoes. The cod was very good but not piping hot and all of our sides were lukewarm at best (broccoli, green beans, french fries). The walleye fish sandwich didn't get eaten, my daughter's medium burger came medium rare, and the trio of medallions wasn't wonderful. Our server was overall very good and also attentive until the end when diners he knew came and sat at a table next to us. Our waters were always filled promptly as well. We are hoping this was an isolated incident vs. the quality of food going downhill in general.
Arrived with reservation about 11:10am. Hostess gave us the evil eye and curtly reported they weren’t seating until 11:15. Less than a warm welcome to start a business lunch. I had to apologize to my guest. Food was average, and the special occasion restaurant I remember seems to be a distant memory.
Wildfire delivers consistently good food but on busy nights the service is spotty. Don't ask for anything extra like another bread because it probably won't come, as it deviates from the meal routine. Water glasses may not get refilled and no one will ask you how everything is tasting. The best option is to go there very early or not on a Saturday night at all.
