Wildfire - Chicago Ratings and Reviews
While I love Wildfire and have been here quite a few times, each time I go it seems like the quality of service is plummeting. We arrived a few minutes for our reservation and I honestly didn't even realize it. I was promptly and sharply told by the host that I would need to wait until it was my reservation time (7 minutes later). It didn't bother me too much until we were seated, and our waiter was no where to be found for a good 15 minutes. He later arrived, rushed through the specials, and rarely saw him again after our order was taken. I understand this is a busy restaurant, especially during the holiday season, but this was a poor experience considering the amount of money my fiancé and I spent on the dinner. I couldn't even order a drink with my dinner because I never had the opportunity. The bussing staff was wonderful, and the food was also exceptional. I'm sure we will be back in the future, but won't be expecting the outstanding service that Wildfire used to provide.
Came here a couple months ago and had a terrible experience. We were sent gift cards to use and we came Dec 13 to use them. We ordered Calamari, Caesar Salad, Steak/Lobster, Potatoes. The steak was supposed to be prepared medium well but was very overcooked, rubbery ,and chewy to the point I needed A1 sauce to get it down. The beer battered lobster was bland.
I go to Wildfire near Deerfield very often and have no food issues with them. Needless to say, I will not be dining at Wildfire in Chicago ever again and will not recommend to friends/family.
The menus were filthy! That’s not a good first impression, it was not just one, it was all of them. It has been a few years since we have eaten there, the food was ok. I had a small filet that was almost impossible to cut through, I left half of it. Everything else was good.
-They got our order wrong
-Kept trying to clear up our table before we were finished
-There was a tremendous amount of noise from specific larger tables all night, the staff did nothing to curtail this making the dining experience for most in the restaurant unpleasant and uncomfortable
I reserved a table for my Fiancée's birthday and as much as I love Wildfire and chose this place was for its intimate ,quiet setting in hopes of having a romantic night. Unfortunately we went the bar to order our drink while waiting for the table and the bar tender was rude and unfriendly. We waited 1hr and 20minutes for our food. Fiancée ordered the Filet Minon and lobster and was overcooked and dry on the outside and undercooked inside. We've been there many times but was saddened that my surprise location was a let down on his special day. Still a fan but wont risk for a special day.
Overall was a good experience. Place was busy however it was a Saturday at Christmas time. It’s to be expected. Food was delicious! We shared a few dishes amongst us ladies and all left satisfied. Service left something to be desired... server was hard to find when needed and the bar and kitchen were running very behind all night. Took about 20 minutes to get our wine. We weren’t in a hurry so it wasn’t too much of an issue. Others around us were visibly annoyed, however. It was our first time at Wildfire and we all would be willing to come back again!
I ordered the Friday special- fish with lobster on top. It came out with a few shreds of lobster. I asked if that was correct and the person who brought it lied and said yes. I got my waitress who said no, and maybe they just ran out. She did offer to give me crab cakes instead.
We go to Wildfire every year for our anniversary. We've never had a bad experience. Salads to start are all delicious. I'm a steak kind of girl, so I always get a filet or the New York strip. Mashed potatoes are amazing!! Service is always timely and everyone is very polite. Great drink menu, as well.
My son has Celiac and has to eat gluten-free. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about my son’s needs and their gluten-free menu was the best we’ve seen...tons of options and the food was delicious! Service was great. We will definitely return next time we are in the area!
I was disappointed in the taste of the food. While there were some tasty items, overall it was just fair. The roasted vegetables were black and the stuffing was a little dry. Also, for family style, the portions were small. We received red potatoes in a side dish for one when there were 3 people in our party. Dessert was good, but the meal was not worth $50.
Had Thanksgiving dinner. It was very high pressured to eat and go. Food was average. Deviled eggs were left out so they were crusty. Staff took away veggie tray and we weren’t done. Just walked by and grabbed it without asking. Tenderloin and turkey were good especially the gravy. Disappointed in the deserts.
Although Wildfire Restaurant is usually one of my favorites it was only average or a little bit better for Thanksgiving dinner I thought the foodt seemed pre-prepared, especially the appetizers and salads. Portions in my opinion were on the small side as we were paying $49 a person. The dessert was good the service was good as well as the ambiance.
I tried 8 times to cancel the reservation through open tables web site and couldn’t. When I tried multiple times I would get a message—— this is highly unusual, but the restaurant in not responding—please try again. I did try multiple times at multiple times to retry, but I received the same response. I’m sorry to the staff at wildfire for not showing up, but we had a medical emergency we had to respond to, and were not able to keep our reservation
I went to the chicago wildfire for my 60th birthday. It was perfect. The drinks were A+, the food was A+, and the desert was to die for. Everything was perfect. We went early, 4:45pm reservations which was perfect. When we were leaving around 6"30, it was starting to get noisy. They seated us in a booth that was rounded. Perfection. I love it @ wildfire.
We had issues the last two times that we visited this restaurant, but neither issue had to do with the food. The food is always great. This time I am happy to report that everything was great. The server was nice and friendly as was the rest of the staff we encounter. When I made the reservation, I forgot that I had included that we were celebrating our anniversary. Our server did not mention it until the end when she brought dessert out for us - which was also delicious. It was a great evening.
We had a great dinner after the theater. Our waiter Marvin did an excellent job. We started with the crab cake appetizer which is loaded with crab. Next I had the filet trio, which was cooked perfectly. My husband had a short rib special that was excellent. For dessert we tried the sampler with a "bite" of ice cream sandwich, peanut butter pie and key lime pie. Perfect sweet to finish off the meal.
we've been coming here for almost 20 years... and honestly, I think the bloom is finally off the rose... no, I did not dine with my step mother in law... this was a date lunch with my wife... but the host was snooty, the chopped salad, even by its smell (forget it's taste) had already taken a turn for the worse, and I'm convinced the bread for the table was simply the re-warmed shapes from the day before... with all the competition in the steak/supper club arena... Perry's, Ruth Chris, Gibson's... it is time for Wildfire to attempt to re-invent itself... 1) before all the food begins to taste like my step mother in laws left-overs in her version of a supper club, and 2) before some developer sensing the lack of quality, knocks the place down and builds another condo complex on the spot... in order to reflect the true value of the square footage being wasted in this particular space
