Great service, great food and relaxing atmosphere!
This was our first dinner at Wildfire & we loved it. Cedar planked salmon entree & prime we’re great! This became one of our favorite restaurants in Chicago!
Our server was great, food was good, its a lively spot lots of conversation.. So don't expect a quiet atmosphere. We always go with reservations because it tends to always be busy.
Wildfire is one of my favorites. Been going there for 20 years. In my opinion it is one of the most underrated restaurants in Chicago. I’ve reordered my favorite dishes all these years and they always are exactly the same—— excellent. Wildfires creamed spinach is the best in town as well as their nit encrusted halibut. One will never go wrong at Wildfire and they have superior servers.
Food was very good. One area that needs improvement is the timing of food being served. we received our appetizers in a prompt manner. Unfortunately within 15 min our entrees arrived. The server began to squeeze the plates on our table with no regard that we still had plates of appetizers . Not wanting to return entrees to kitchen because then they are served luke warm we just dealt with it. This has hapoened before at Wildfire. It’s as though we are at a fast food restaurant where you are expected to order and complete your meal within a limited time frame.
Food was delicious and service was great.
Always love dining here. The ambiance reminds me of the movies from that era.
I had high Hope's for Wild Fire! I made sure to read up and do my research before going. My husband and I love love love steak so this seemed like the perfect fit...nope! The service was amazing I will give them that! But the food? Absolutely not. I ordered prime rib queen cut I was extremely disappointed when it arrived cold not room temp but cold cold! It was mostly fat with little to no juice. I ate maybe 1/4 of it before I had it wrapped up to go (for my dog) there was no flavor at all thank goodness for the sides they made up for it. My husbands expensive steak was a poor excuse for an expensive steak house cut of meat. He too did not finished his food and again we took it home for the dog. Even our desserts- frozen!! We did not finish those either! I highly recommend NOT wasting your money or even a gift certificate here. Please head over to Golden Steer if you want a delicious steak that is not going to break the bank and will have flavor that can't be beat!
Excellent petite filet. Cooked perfectly.
Our server was GREAT. My fiancee and I we very please with his ability to give the level of attentiveness we needed, but to not pressure us as it too us a long..... time to order our meal.
You cannot go wrong dining at Wildfire. Every staff member is always pleasant to speak with.
Was there to celebrate my birthday. It was very anticlimactic there.
Great experience overall from the waiter/staff to each course
When we were seated, the booth seat had food and paper on it. Menus had food all over them, they were sticky and felt nasty. We ordered a Flight and the glasses were sticky and didn’t feel clean. Food didn’t taste all that great. Waiter took a long time to come check on us, he said he had about 7 tables and some of them were large parties so that was the reason for the little attention we received. Ordered shrimp cocktail as an appetizer which was $15, and you only get 4 small shrimp, so not worth the price. I indicated when I made the reservation that it was my significant other’s birthday and I gave his name. The waiter had no idea it was his birthday, and even asked if we wanted dessert until I had to verbally tell him in front of the birthday person which made this Birthday experience not so special. I’ve been to other restaurants where they ask as you RSVP if this is a special occasion and when we arrived they had a birthday card, the staff gave a special welcome and told him Happy Birthday and they remembered to bring a birthday dessert. I found nothing good or special about Wildfire restaurant. Our bill was about $130, plus $25 tip. Not worth it. I don’t plan to visit here again.
The food was the reason for visiting and it was very good. However the service was poor . We did arrive for our reservation at 8:45pm but we were given a table by the cooking and plating area, which did not result in a relaxing atmosphere. There were 7 of us and we really couldn't converse well with each other. Not only was there noise from the banging of dishes and numerous staff in the area, the diners were loud as well. Our waitress did disappear for long periods of time, she definitely was not in control of our service. we had to request refills and the food did take a long while. I'd go back, but I'd definitely request a more intimate area when making the reservation. I suppose I would make the reservation on the phone.
Great steaks and wine! Good for evening out with friends or just the two of you.
Dont remember our waiters name but he was excellent. Very friendly and attentive. Everyone was great, even took our reservation early, and they were able to bring a special desert for my fiance's birthday.
Not my first time here and it definitely wont be the last.
Been there many times.Food way below usual, steaks overdone. Ordered meduim rare, came to table dark in middle. Very disappointed with reduced quality. Others felt same with poorer quality than in past.
Great spot and consistently so. Been going there for years.
Great food, our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She never rushed us. We all had something different, steak, chicken, swordfish and salmon and everyone loved their meal.
The restaurant was very nice and I could not fault the service. The waiters were very attentive. The food was also very good but it wasn’t serve straight away and my vegetables and rice were not hot.
I totally enjoyed my birthday dinner! As always I wasn't disappointed
Everything was bad. We could understand the waiter. The food had to be sent back. Under cooked. The vegetables were horrible
Off my list!
We enjoyed our meal at Wildfire. Steaks, twice baked potato and salads, everything cooked perfectly. Great wine list too.
Our server was informative, timely and helpful.
The only down side was the noise level and the tightness of the tables. We would go back again for sure.
Great food! Server was busy and moved/spoke a little too fast for us but the food timing was perfect. Cockatails, ambiance, GLUTEN FREE menu; all great!
This restaurant used to be amazing - - both service and food. Both were very average on this visit. Will be a while before we return.
Wildfire has always been a go to place for quality food and exceptional service. We enjoyed the dinner but didn't leave with an urgency to go back this time. The service was not up to their usual standard. Food was good - the Turkey dinner special was an excellent value, the Halibut wasn't in season yet so went for the COD which was good but the potatoes were cold and the Short ribs were excellent. Drinks were slow to be served, although all prepared as ordered and a nice bottle of wine was consumed.
Friends in town.
Lou our bartender is awesome ! He and all of your staff is always so pleasant and professional.
Great place to go, seating was a little tight where we sat. Overall atmosphere and food was really good. We will return.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal on a date night. Services was outstanding and the food delicious! We will be back!
This was my first time at wildfire and I was incredibly pleased by not only the food but the entire atmosphere of the restaurant. Our waiter was nice and always there when we needed something or had questions!
Wildfire is a great restaurant, always the best food. Nice place to celebrate special occasions. Love the Martini Flights.
Wildfire is always a favorite when we are looking for a place to enjoy a steak or fish and visit with family or friends. We have eaten at several of their restaurants and the food is very consistent. This time it was an ideal place to meet an old friend from out of town for dinner. Great wine list, wonderful menu, steaks done to perfection. We started with the calamari appetizer, which was crisp and tender. We each had a different cut of steak and they all were done just as requested. There wasn't a bite left on any plate. We love the selection of sides. We shared the red skinned mashed potatoes, roasted sweet potatoes, and creamed spinach and all were wonderful. No room for dessert this time. The service was perfect, as well. Just enough to keep us cared for, but plenty of time and space to catch up. I worried about the noise level, but it wasn't a problem. We had a booth on the side and it worked well.
Delicious meal! Pleasant unobtrusive service.
Food was good, service started out great but went down as they got busier. My husband, son, and I went in to celebrate his new job, my Birthday and Spring Break. Our table was great to start but then they seated a group of about 16 next to us which kept adding people so it ended up being about 20, my son and husband were real crowded on their side of the table. It was hard to have a conversation without yelling at one another.
Overall the food was delicious, we will try it again the next time we are in the city.
This is a truly classy place. I never miss an opportunity to eat here when I'm in Chicago.
Gone to Wildfire for years in suburbs. Never had a bad meal. Went to one downtown, quality of ribs was so/so. disappointing.
So great, our server was lovely and the food was incredible!
Took friends from Austria and they were beyond pleased. We all loved the specials and the ambiance.
