Wildfire - Chicago

Overall high quality food in a festive atmosphere with great service.
Some of the meat was over cooked but overall always great!
Came here for dinner with a group of 6 adults. Seated in a quiet area out of the main room, which was great for conversing, but a bit boring in atmosphere. Mussels for an appetizer were amazing; shared Tuscan Kale salad continued the good food, but the main entres dropped the ball entirely. The filet I had was not prepared to my order (ordered medium rare, received rare) and the meat, although tender, did not have any seasoning or flavor to it. It was just....food. The others I shared it with agreed. My boyfriend had the Lamb Porterhouse Chops and had the same experience: no flavor to the meat; and lamb should be very distinctive in flavor! Very disappointing. One couple shared the Prime Rib and said it melted in your mouth. The other couple shared soup and salad which were average.
Our first time back in Chicago in years.
Disappointed with the dinner I had at Wildfire recently. Everything was just average. Nothing stood out as special and the experience did not elicit anticipation for a return visit.
Made a reservation for 9 pm didn’t get seated till 9:30-9:40 so it doesn’t really matter if you make a reservation or not, but the food was outstanding and so was the ambiance and our server was too.
Wildfire has been a favorite restaurant of mine for years. Over the years I’ve felt a decline in the service and the food quality. I get the same thing every time, so I’m able to notice if there’s a change or decline.
Our server was overworked, and the manager let her know she was falling behind in front of us twice.
Ordered a martini and got it in a cup. They had martini glasses and chose to give me a cup. On top of this the drink had 30 ice cubes in it when I asked for no ice cubes. These drinks also took 20 minutes to come out. Steak tasted like McDonald’s added steak to their menu. Waiter told me they didn’t have my order so they were going to have me pick a new entree then they said they did have it. Didn’t accommodate for the poor service and mistakes made.
We had reservations and were seated immediately. Water was served right away and our waitress took our drink orders. I was disappointed in the bread basket- ordinary rolls and they weren't warm. However, the lamb was fabulous and the potatoes also were tasty.
The reason I did not give this place top recommendations is I think I was a bit overpriced. $10 off each meal would make it soooooo much more reasonable.
Wildfire has been one of our Chicago favorites for a very long time. Consistently excellent food and service typical of the Lettuc Entertain You group.
Wildfire never disappoints. The food is superior, especially the seafood and prime rib, the cocktails delightful and service always fantastic! With all of the great restaurants in Chicago, Wildfire stands out!
Great food and drinks reasonably priced.
I went to Wildfire taking my niece and her fiancé. We were celebrating his birthday. During dinner I was asking the couple questions because I’m officiating their wedding. I was jotting down notes during dinner. Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive. She then asked about the wedding. The food was fabulous as usual at Wildfire. Our service was outstanding. At the end of the meal our waitress brought a dessert with a candle for the birthday celebration. She also brought another dessert for the engaged couple. What a nice touch by our server. Our waitress went above and beyond! Thank you to her and Wildfire for a wonderful evening!
The booths need a booster seat. They feel old and too low for average height (5'9") man.
Food was excellent, the steaks are done perfectly and very generous portions. Our server Mindy could not have been more helpful and the featured wine was a great value and well received.
Delicious breads especially the cornbread. Attentive service.?
My only negative comment is the bathroom floor looked to need some attention, while I didn't drop anything on the floor of the stall, if I had I would have had to decide to throw said item away or attempt to sanitize it.
Wonderful experience! Our waiter was very attentive and offered great recommendations. Highly recommend this spot.
Excellent! Service and food were wonderful. Even the string beans were great lol. A+
Came here on a Saturday night, busy night as expected. Were seated with our reservation right away. Service was not very good. After we were seated, took 10 minute at least to have our server stop by to see us. Took our drink order and was gone for another 15 minutes. Seemed like everytime during the meal, he would disappear for long intervals between. My date ordered prime rib medium, when it came out, it was more rare than even medium rare. Instead of cutting a new piece, they put it on the flat top and sent back the same piece. Made it more like a steak than a prime rib...not very appetizing. No sorry from the waiter, just took it and came back ten minutes later. Would go to Wildfire again, just not this location.
Waiter was obviously rushed but efficient. The miscommunication between the waiter and one of our party regarding who qualified as a veteran left a bad taste all around.
Great dinner experience!
This was for my birthday celebration. I’ve been to Wildfire before. The food was excellent as always. My only complaint was our server was a bit distracted. At times we were just sitting there. My party was planning on ordering dessert but opted to end the evening instead.
The steakWas perfectly prepared. The vegetables were delicious. And as usual the service was spot on. Stakes are priced fairly, and vegetables or other choices come with all the entrée. Wildfire can be as noisy or as quiet as you want. Conversation is easy and not strained
Never a disappointment! Food and atmosphere are top notch!
We were a table of 2 competing for attention with a table of 8 and another table of 4. We never even got a desert menu or presentation. The steak was ok. Over cooked some but not too bad. My friends prime rib and baked potato was excellent she said. The best part of my meal was the French onion soup. Overall I may go back but this location needed more servers. For the price I didn’t get great service.
We were celebrating a birthday and the staff was wonderful. Brought out the cake with the candles lit, then took it to the back and sliced it. The birthday girl loved it.
The ribs were not up to par. They made a mistake on the salad, but corrected it very quickly. One guest ordered onion soup which arrived with his entree.
Everybody had a good time.
Drinks are always amazing, service and food are a hit or miss.
Wildfire is consistently good. Nothing is outstanding but we have never had a bad meal.
Be sure to ask for bread. They usee
They used to always serve it, but we had to request this time.
We called and let them know that we were stuck in traffic. They saved our table for us. Lead us to middle of crowded and loud dining room. We asked for bar area instead. They heard us say it was too loud to hear one another. The hostess graciously lead us to the front dining room and it was PERFECT!!! Thank you so much. My husband ordered the filet and it was perfect. My friend and I both ordered prime rib and neither was done to liking and actually quite dry. The wine was excellent. The service was great with the exception of asking if our food was cooked properly.
Reservations are held in a separate room from the normal seating area. Service was phenomenal.
ordered a filet mignon medium came out rare. sent it back they refired it and then it was like a 3 ounce steak...refused it and got another one which was good...I didn't expect a steakhouse to refire.....sadly disappointed
My husband really enjoyed the lamb chops and of course you cannot go wrong with filet mignon... very tender
The entire evening was perfect, our waitress did a phenomenal job and the food was delicious! Will definitely mark this as one of our favorite restaurants in the city!
Good food, good drinks, polite waiter.
Great waiter - Paul & fantastic food & cocktails!
the food and service was excellent hardly no waiting time after arriving the food was good and the price was just right we will most definitely be back
Great waiter - Philip. One good personality and one. It so good at the front desk check in. Food was good not fantastic but good value. Very Casual dress mainly
Always a fantastic meal at Wildfire. The server took the time and care to acknowledge my gluten free needs (celiac) and made sure we were happy with our meal. Only downfall was the noise level in the restaurant. The food was superb and portions too large (but I'm not complaining).
