Overall, the experience was not bad but it wasnt good as well. We had to wait an extra 20 minutes after reservations to get a seat. We were presented the menus and were left alone for 10 minutes to take a look at the menu. After choosing what we wanted from the dine-out menu, we had to wait almost 2 hours to get all our 3 courses. The first course that we got was tuna tar tar and pork belly. The tuna was decent - it had chips and tuna. Their pork belly, however, was absolutely delicious. The second course was flat iron steak and the rockfish. The flat iron steak was slightly tough and it was not the highlight of that dish - the squash puree was better than the steak. The rockfish wasn't bad but it was more on the bland side. The sunchokes were really hard to chew on and do not get the scallops, it's a total scam. You only get one small piece where they just sear both side. And finally, it came to the final course - the dessert. The dessert we chose was the cake. The chocolate silk cake was really dense and with everything we ate, it did not complete the meal for us. The cake was more like a fudge bar but it did compliment well with everything on the plate and the rum raisin ice cream was just a cream not an ice cream. If the food came more promoptly instead of 2 hours for 3 dishes and if the servers explained the courses and the highlights of each dishes, then I would say this is a great place to go to.

Overall it was so-so. For a 9pm reservation on Dineout ‘18 day 1, we were seated at 9.25 at a table near the main door. Our first course arrived at 10.40pm. No table bread, nothing. The high chairs are extremely uncomfortable, they are slippery and not fit for a 3 hour long meal.

Food was decent. Tasty but nothing extraordinaire.

Positives:
1) My friend can’t eat eggs and dairy and they made those adjustments for her
2) My wedge salad was tasteless. The server was nice enough to notice that and brought me another dish.
3) Desert was the tastiest!!

Myself and my sister were staying in vancouver for the night and when i made reservations, i had requested that on the dessert to place a candle because it was my sister's birthday. Unfortunately that didn't happen. Additionally, having been seated on the communal table in the basement, we were able to see all the dishes ahead of time and our dessert did not look like the rest. The crackers were broken.

I think overall, getting a 3 meals for $40 was worth it and the ambiance was nice. The food was definitely above average. Must have been a busy night for the chefs. I would go there again but perhaps not make it a special occasion.

Dine put Vancouver is probably not a fair representation. Food was okay but not outstanding. Had to wait 20 minutes for previous seating to finish yet as soon as we paid the bill we were asked to leave. Not a great dining experience. May try it again on a regular night

Ambiance and service was great! We went during dine-out and the menu was underwhelming. Food delicious, however the portions were very small. Would definitely come back for their regular menu items, not for dine-out.

Everything was above and beyond which is really saying something considering it was the first night of Dine Out Van. I loved their menu layout for both cocktails and dine out - it was cute, concise and easy to understand exactly what I was getting. As someone who is weary of wine pairings it was great to see pairings that truly enhanced the wine and the dish rather than just being palletable. Our service was top notch and the kitchen was working hard. I liked that we could throw a 6 pack on to thank the kitchen. All in all would recommend. Good job!

I had high hopes for my meal as everything on the menu looked really good. We started with the poitinerary which was quite good. But unfortunately our meals were a disappointment. My husband got the scallop and pork belly dish which he thought was just OK and my friend and I both got the rockfish which was very bland. My other friend got the duck and he really liked it. The server was pleasant but took a long time to take our order and never checked on us to make sure the food was okay.

The ambiance was nice and the service was great. The food was tasty even though the meats were a bit too exotic for my tastes. However, the portions were very small and overpriced in my opinion.

One of the best places I have ever eaten. Did the “let the chef decide” deal and it was not only unbelievable but a great value too. Don’t miss out on this one! Robin our waiter was absolutely on point as well, the service was fantastic.

Great ambience, service and overall vibe, but portions are a bit small and pricey, even "large" plates - when they're intended to be shared it works out to be quite an expensive meal. That said, the food is delicious and the plates are interesting with an awesome variety of dishes.

Food looked better then it tasted. Still a 4/5 but it did not have the 'wow' I need more of this effect. Portions were little smaller than expected.

It is the new year eve dinner I purchased. The food taste ok but size is very small. The count down for the new year should be more organize, because this is a big thing for this dinner. But it did not.

Also I asked the waiter if meal ticket we purchase included tip. He says no. Came home and see on the website that tax and gratitude is included in the ticket.

Awful NYE experience. Had to wait 30 minutes for our table that we pre-paid for weeks in advance. They did not have certain items available from the prix-fix menu...i mean how bad is that? Food was not well cooked. Would not recommend, not going back.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The atmosphere is warm, cozy and welcoming, the service was friendly and prompt, and the food was delicious. The cocktail menu was impressive--I had a Gourd Downie which I highly recommend. We chose the omakase (tasting menu, chef's choice) and even though we had a couple of (very) minor dietary restrictions, the chef worked around them beautifully. Our favourite dishes were, respectively, the boar belly with sorghum and the creme brûlée with parsnip and quince. However, it was ALL delicious! For the quality of the food and experience, it is a very good deal.

Have been here a handful of times already, every time has been worthwhile and very enjoyable. Interior, drinks, food (I always get the smoked olives!) are all very well done. I would have given it 4/5 stars before this visit but now I bump them to 4.5 - they stepped up their service even higher and the food is reaching higher level of excellence. Will always recommend!

We were encouraged to share plates between each other but the portions were very small. My preference would have been to choose how we wanted our meat, but the default was to serve our meat rare, which is a gamble. We were also situated by the door, which was distracting as guests waiting for tables would crowd around us constantly. Given our experience, it was overpriced.

Took my boyfriend to Wildebeest for dinner on his birthday, and we loved the ambiance and the service! Upon arrival, they brought us to our seats and offered to hang our coats for us. It wasn't too busy for a Saturday night, but the servers were always readily available. The food didn't necessarily knock our socks off, but we appreciated the presentation and have considered we may have chosen wrongly in terms of what would better suit our taste preferences. Overall, it was a lovely experience, and we hope to come back to try out their brunch menu!

Tiny overpriced portions. Pork belly was firm, rather than crispy/tender - and maybe about 1 1/2 square inches. 4 scallops a little underdone. Veggie slaw was immersed in a tomato paste sauce. And this was a main entree for $29. Service was polite, but inattentive - glasses were taken away with no inquiry about another drink. Would not recommend or go back.

The food was quite good - but the portions were small. Sharing the mains between 4 people means that you only really get one piece/ a few bites of each dish. A little overpriced for the size of the mains. And I was sad to see so little burrata on the beet and burrata appy. Beautiful restaurant though, great service, very nice ambiance.

We were in Vancouver for the weekend and saw this restaurant on the internet (boasted about it being one of the best eggs benedict places in Vancouver.
We got reservations for Saturday brunch and walked over. The place looked inviting and we were seated fairly quickly. Then things started going downhill.
We sat for at least 10 minutes before our server came over and we ordered coffee. We both ordered the brisket eggs benedict. Surprisingly they arrived about 6-7 minutes after we ordered. (By the way , we asked for soft and runny eggs).
The whole meal (for both of us) was luke warm at best, and the eggs were hard . We would have sent them back except it was almost noon and we hadn't eaten since the night before.
Our server never came by as is expected to ask how our meal was. Our coffees sat empty for the whole meal. After paying our bill (leaving cash on the table), there was no server or no host or hostess to thank us for coming to this restaurant. All in all, it was a little disappointing. Not great service, and cold food . Not at all what we expected. To say the least, this is not a restaurant my wife and I will ever visit again on our trips to downtown Vancouver, and we would never recommend to anyone. Just being honest .
