Great time - food and vibe was great! Gave "value" a 4/5 as I felt the happy hour asparagus item was kind of tiny for the $.

Pros: Drink selection was fantastic. Music and ambiance were also quite good. Beef tartare was fantastic.

Cons: Service was lacking. Would not recommend the $14 asparagus, which was about 7 pieces of normal asparagus with fancy toppings.

Ordered three dishes plus dessert. The first dish arrived promptly and was excellent. It took about an hour for the 2 other dishes to appear, with minimal-to-no interaction with the staff. After the main dishes appeared we got bread. They weren't particularly swamped, so I'm not sure what was going on there. After the main dishes, we got more drinks and dessert, and that arrived promptly. It might be worth going to if money is not an issue.

Food and service were incredible! We went with the tasting menu / omakase and enjoyed every single course. The bone marrow with a sherry luge was genius. The nettle and garlic ravioli were outrageous. Wagyu sirloin was beautifully rich and tender. Awesome, local, seasonal dishes.

Dinner was amazing! We did the omakase menu (for 2 adults and 2 kids) and it was beyond exceptional. The carpaccio, ravioli, and wagyu steak were our favorites, though everything was delicious. Dessert was both beautiful and delicious. Our servers took great care of us, making the whole experience lovely.

I enjoyed the food at Wildebeest but would not recommend it to anyone with a large appetite as portions are small. The flavours were delicious and lots of interesting dishes for small plate sharing. Highly recommend going for happy hour.

Honestly everthing was pretty good except for the. Blonde lady server gretting us with "Still or Sparkling" after we had been waiting for a while. A simple hello, how are you? goes a long way.

Food and service were great. The restaurant isn’t exactly child friendly though and I wish it could try to accommodate kids better. For example drinking cups with lid on and actual high chairs (invest in Ikea $15 ones), not just booster seat. Overall, I would return but not with children.

The serving staff was phenomenal and the food was great. Very unique flavors. Best deviled eggs I have ever had!
Prices are a little high, I think they are pushing the envelope on what they can charge for ordinary ingredients at this place - but it is gastown afterall

The food was amazing! I got the Caponata Eggs Benedict which was delicious. The poached cooked was made perfectly and the crispy potatoes were insanely good. We also had the Guinness Donuts at the start and those were really good as well. Soft and not too sweet. The glaze was also very nice.

First time dining here, came for happy hour, the food was excellent! Really enjoyed the pasta. Charcuterie plate had interesting types of meat, and it was quite delicious.

We had a wonderful meal that was perfectly selected for us by our bartender. We tried things that we would not have tried otherwise. Sitting at the bar also let us observe as they made the craft cocktails, which is a performance.

We booked a table for two early in the day. When we arrived on time at 9.45pm, the host told us they could not accommodate us at a table and directed us to the bar, where there was a full service menu. Apparently, they had many large groups which had not left. We could clearly see several empty tables. I was ready to leave but my wife decided we should stay because it was too late to go anywhere else. My wife commented that this was poor as we had booked. The host did not apologize and no reparations were made.

The bar was cramped. There was little space to accommodate the large wooden chopping boards on which the food was served.

Eventually, we were moved to a table. The waiters were actually very professional,attentive and food was served quickly.

I consider the menu here to be quite experimental. Presentation was excellent. The quality of the food was excellent. The taste was also excellent. Despite this, I would have preferred something more “Vanilla.”

The decor was very interesting. The music was loud-ish but one could still hold a conversation.

I would not go here again because of the initial booking mess up and because of the expense. I expect something outstanding for what I paid ($300 for two people).

We already have recommended the Wildebeest to our son. We really enjoyed the variety of food. The charcuterie board was amazing, a delicious sampling of sweet and savory flavors. The wild boar appetizer was very tasty. The travelzoo meal was great as we were able to try a lot of the foods they have to offer. We were not disappointed.

Overall food was outstanding, but the bar and table service totally let down the kitchen. Was it because it was Easter Monday and the bar manager just didn't care to be there? Was it the timing of our table server and did he just feel overwhelmed because there were actually a few tables more than anticipated? I may come back on a whim but as a world traveler who dines out any day all over the world, this dining experience was spoiled by uninterested mediocre service. They need to match the service to the outstanding food because it matters.

Parents were in town so I wanted to take them somewhere unique and tasty and Wildebeest did not disappoint. Incredible food, great drinks, and amazing service. Would happily recommend.

Excellent food and service. Definitely an indulgence (we did the $70/pp chef's selection, you can go less per prob through) and thought everything was amazing and well worth the price tag. Service was also excellent!
