Wildcraft Ratings and Reviews
I have been at Wildcraft several times and never had any problems with food or service. I have always enjoyed the Wildcraft salad as well as my friends. This time one of my friends ordered it and she was very disappointed as it had been changed and she enjoyed better the original one. She did not dislike this new version but she prefers the old one. Otherwise no complains.
There was too much bacon in the tagliatelli, making it far too fatty. The mushrooms didn't taste much like wild mushrooms. (2 people had this dish and felt the same way) The Bistro Steak was ok but like most things on the menu seriously overpriced.
I wouldn't call a lot of noise "energetic"--it was loud and very difficult to have any kind of conversation.
Far too expensive for what we get--no really interesting food such as duck or wild boar which we've had in the past.
The waiter did an excellent job, however.
Mediocre. It’s a large restaurant that looks like a souped up version of Milestones, Whitespot or Earls (not sue they have all those brands in Ontario). Menu was okay, the food was so so but priced on the level of something closer to fine dining. Noisy, busy place. Service was inexperienced and friendly but poor. For example: 4 people dining, a bottle of wine was ordered for the table and the server opened and served the taster first, then proceeded to empty the bottle into 3 glasses - none left for the 4th person! A small carafe of wine was brought to the table to fill that 4th glass..... really? The whole dinner proceeded in manner.
We were seated at the table in front of the fireplace, set for two. Our server was training someone, and both servers were excellent I was sad to see that they no longer offer the Cline Zinfandel wine or the Pear flatbread. They were very accommodating, and offered a glass of champagne to both of us. That was very sweet and a nice start to a romantic birthday dinner. My husband had the Bistro fillet and I had the mushroom flatbread. Both were very good. My husband was given a lovely piece of some type of chocolate dessert that was amazing with happy birthday written in chocolate. A very nice touch!
Unfortunately our experience was less than we expected from Wildcraft. Our service was pleasant but inattentive and we had to ask several time times for our water to be replenished. Our food varied from luke warm to bland or extremely salty. The cheese platter was good. Well will not be frequenting Wildcraft in the near future
I am not a fan of their new menu. They removed my favourite stuffed chicken meal , and changed the best cheesecake dessert I have ever tried to a less desirable, smaller portion with different less tasty toppings. Also the prices went up significantly. I would return to this establishment however it would be with much less enthusiasm.
Interesting meal! Soup was very flavorful but not as expected for a pumpkin-squash soup. Root vegetables were also served with a flavorful sauce but purposely cold under the hot salmon. All delicious but unexpected. I guess I should have asked but perhaps my server should have made it clear also.
We attended Wildcraft for a family dinner, a memorial for my son. They found us a private spot which allowed for ease of conversations on a difficult day. The service was attentive and went the extra mile with ensuring they provided excellent service. Highly recommend for larger dinner parties or events.
I brought my Aunt to Wildcraft while she visited me in Waterloo and I have zero complaints. She was impressed with the service, atmosphere and food, as was I. I have been twice before and have never had any problems. A fantastic place to bring the important people in your life.
We ordered a cheese and charcuterie board.........while the thin sliced meat selection was very good, and there were ample crisps, and some nice condiments, there were only two little pieces of cheese...a little disappointing.
The kitchen was prepared to make me a chef salad using romaine lettuce instead of those little curly greens that I can't eat.....very much appreciated!
The crème brulee was fabulous!
Terrible from the moment we stepped in. Booked for a special occasion a month in advance and we are given a table that backs onto the kitchen. Requested a move and it didn't matter as the whole restaurant was extremely loud...need some acoustical panels to absorb the noise! Then we ordered drinks...for some reason they couldn't make a mock piña colada or a strawberry daiquiri. We ordered a $21.00 cheese platter and we were shocked to see the three tiny pieces of cheeese, three thin slices of green apple and a hand full of broken crisp crackers...we asked the server if they still served bread. She replies, oh yes I will bring it out after I bring your drinks...she then comes with a basket of rolls and proceeds to hand out one roll per person. I don't know about you, but I felt like we were being served like we were inmates! It was very degrading...put the basket on the table and let people help themselves! Dinner was very delayed and we had to ask for more bread...same service :(. The meals were fine, but our waitress was "elsewhere ". We had another server come and clear our table as he saw that we were sitting with our finished plates for a considerable amount of time. I could go on, summary....we were a table of five people and no one at that table will go to Wildcraft again...too little of everything, for too much $$$! Keep in mind five people know a lot of extended individuals and certainly will not be recommending this restaurant! This was a once in a lifetime celebration and it wasn't even acknowledged even though it was noted when we booked the special event when making our reservations. The Charcoal Group will not have us attending their restaurants, we value our occasions and the people that we are celebrating with....this was nothing short of embarrassing and we won't risk that again!
I went to Wildcraft as my post-bodybuilding competition meal. They atmosphere is very comfortable and quiet, perfect to enjoy a nice meal. My company and I shared charcuterie, cheese, and a main. And at the end, the server surprised me with a “Congratulations” treat. Great food, atmosphere and caring customer service.
The food here was pretty delicious. The white chocolate cheese cake was one of the most delicious cheese cake I have ever tasted. The ambience was very nice as well, it is certainly a fantastic place for a special dinner. The waiters and waitresses were helpful too.
The price was a bit high tho, but overall, it worth.
I took my boyfriend there for the first time and he was impressed! The service by Dave and Robin in the dining room was impeccable - they knew when to leave us be and when it was time to ensure that all was good. The bar is huge and every bartender was extremely friendly and professional!
Very nice restaurant. Very friendly waitstaff. Food was great except I ordered the roasted chicken and it came with 3 pieces of potato. And I question if it was even an entire breast. There was a giant hole in my plate and I thought they forgot to give me something but they didn't. For $27 I expect a decent sized meal at least.
