Wild Sea Oyster Bar and Grille Ratings and Reviews
Went with some very close friends and had great dinner and drinks. The service was terrific and the food was delicious. We had dinner prior to seeing a show at the Broward Performing Arts Center. We were able to walk to the show in about 15 minutes along the river. Would do the whole evening over again!
Came here on Thanksgiving night, they had an all you can eat buffet with Roast Turkey and Roast Beef and salmon for the non meat eaters. There was also a wonderful seafood buffet with large prawns, oysters and ceviche dishes......the cocktails were
Amazing we had Long Island iced tea and they were the best we’ve had anywherebthe barman really knew what he
Was doing and was very friendly. Perfect venue for a dinner either with friends or a date night the ambiance was neither too quiet or too noisy. The lighting was soft and the Service was good. I would recommend this restaurant.
Food was mediocre at best. We had mussels, broiled grouper and the duck ramen. The grouper was tasteless, the ramen was loaded with salt. Dinner for 2 came to $120 with 2 glasses of wine.
You are paying for “perceived” ambiance, nothing more. Would not return.
My wife and I were on a special weekend away in Fort Lauderdale to see Miami City Ballet. We made reservations for an early dinner based on Trip Advisor reviews and rating. We had never been to Wild Sea and we were first party to be seated at a table. Only when we were eating our appetizer did we see people being seated in another room. This happened repeatedly during our meal and we finally took a look and realized everyone else was in the linen draped quiet dining room and we had been seated in the noisy bar! Soon the musician began setting up right beside us resulting in even more noise and louder conversations at the bar. Far from a romantic dinner out.
When we left we asked the hostess why she seated us in bar but everyone else in the dining room. She had several lame reasons such as “other servers were busy” and we refuted each assertion. For a slow evening (tropical storm Phillips) the management showed no effort to provide us with their best.
The food and Adestin our server were both great (thank you Adestin) but we will never return.
I like the food at Wild Sea, but I feel the restaurant lacks an identity and the service has never been good. I have dined there both pre and post the outdoor renovations.
1. Outdoor seating is too bright now.
2. Greasy fingerprints all over the glass doors. That should be clean all the time (or cut your prices down to TGI Friday's level).
3. Winds that night were like 15-20 mph and yet the ceiling fans were on HIGH.
4. Music is too aggressive - Top 40 should be for lounge and night club, NOT dinner. Dinner vibe should be NO VOCALS and more chill, electronic dance, "Delirium" style.
5. Service has always been shotty... not attentive enough and long wait times between courses and the server checking on us. Funny thing is the LAST 2 times we have dined there, the manager has come over to apologize for us waiting so long to be greeted. Things like that should be corrected after the FIRST time.
6. Need better dessert options.
Total bill NO ALCOHOL, NO DESSERT was $140 before tip. I can certainly get better food and way better service for that same money, if not for less.
Hopefully this constructive criticism will be helpful IF I attempt to dine there again in the future.
We went for my boyfriends 35th birthday with a party of 13. WE HAD A BLAST! The food was great and the ambiance was equally as great. I highly recommend this restaurant for a date night or special occasion. Thank you to everyone at Wild Sea for being so accommodating and welcoming to our large party!
We had a 6:30 reservation and were seated promptly. However, we weren't served our dinner until after 8:00. Not that big of a deal but the place wasn't that busy to have that long of a wait. That coupled with the fact that we were sitting at a high-top in the bar but we weren't able to receive happy hour cocktails because we weren't actually sitting at the bar itself. Seems like a strange rule.
We tried this as we are local and hadn't been and wanted to experiment with the crave menu available through the month of September this restaurant was exceptional service and food for both beyond expectation I can very rarely say that he will definitely be back
If their service and food were as well done as the venue itself, WSOB would be great. In short, it seems that whomever is in charge of the servers needs to review the basics of serving. There were several glitches to the meal, including slow service, delivery of the meal, and a general indifference to providing a good dining experience.
We went to Wild Sea based on the great reviews on Trip Advisor. It was our anniversary, and they gave us a nice table and a delicious complimentary dessert. The food was fresh and delicious. Wait staff very knowledgeable and attentive (and friendly!).
We will definitely be back!
My wife and I were in town and on a mini-vacation for our five year anniversary. Kristen was our server and did an amazing job taking care of us and helping make recommendations. Overall, this was one of the best meals we have ever had. Thanks for making our anniversary dinner a memorable one!
Our personal favorite restaurant...We have been twice in the last year with party of 6 or more and tried almost all of the entrees and appetizers on the menu..every dish is prepared with great talent ....delicious...presentation excellent....service fantastic...We have had Kristen serve us both times and every aspect of her service and personality are excellent....great job Wild Sea staff!
The oysters here never disappoint. The service is always on-point as well. What we find to be average is their meals. We have been here quite a few times (mostly for the oysters), but we always eat and the food has been hit or miss. Sometimes the fish is dry and overcooked, sometimes the food is salty. Their red velvet beignets are to die for.
Great entrees, pricey, and excellent service. Large party in "private room" very loud; sliding door broken which made it worse. Would not move us. If a Special Ocassion, best call also and ask good questions. Told me to certainly bring a cake; failed to mention the $3 per person, cutting charge. Rather insulting based on the bill.
Not sure I will go back with a party of 8.
General Notes - This restaurant is part of the Riverside Hotel and at the time of my visit (early August 2017) did not have any street-facing signage to identify its location within the hotel. I was disappointed that the patio was under construction which was one of my main reasons for going. Renovations were completing soon so I recommend calling to check if your intentions are to sit outside.
Food: The saving grace of the dining experience was that the food was really quite good for myself and my guests. I had a Wild Sea Nachos as a main course. They were delicious and more than I could eat alone.
Ambiance: Because of the lack of patio seating we were relegated to the relatively stark and uninviting dining area which remained mostly empty throughout our evening. There is a pretty nice looking inside bar area with a few booths and high tops.
Service: Our waitress was not at the top of her game, pleasant but not as professional, knowledgeable and attentive as she could have been.
Parting thoughts: I am looking forward to seeing the renovations and am hopeful ownership can figure out a way to make it all work together because I want to come back for the nachos and enjoy them in a more vibrant atmosphere.
Although the food was excellent, the restaurant was very empty and didn't create the best energy. We had the mussels and octopus appetizers and it was honestly the best mussels I have ever had! However, in their defense, the hotel is undergoing renovations and it was also a Sunday so that might have had a lot to do with the lack of other patrons on the night that we visited.
