Wild Salsa - Dallas Ratings and Reviews
Food was great. Initial service. Not so much. We were a group of 4 big guys. Restaurant was empty. After being seated we asked for the corner booth which was much larger. We were gladly reseated. Shortly thereafter we were told that we couldn’t sit there anymore. Another larger party was seated there. We were put at a wobbly table for 4. I mentioned that there was a group of 2 seated at another corner booth. Didn’t matter. Manager could care less.
We were excited to give this a try. We are Dallas foodie’s and heard good things about Wild Salsa. Unfortunately, service was awful, through and through. From the sour-pussed hostess, to the “all over the place, scatter-brained waitress.” The food was cold when it finally arrived to our table, and though we rarely complain about food or food temp, we just couldn’t eat the cold to barely room temp entrees. It appeared to be under-staffed, and even though there were empty tables, it seemed chaotic. Sadly, this place isn’t on our list any longer.
This is our third visit to Wild Salsa, mostly due to location. We have never been impressed with the quality of their food. On this last visit it seemed to have declined even more. The nachos are no better than those you would order at a football game (pile of ships with liquid cheese poured over them). And, not to be rude, but we are not 100% certain that what they advertise as beef, is actually beef. There are a multitude of far better choices for Mexican cuisine in Dallas. It is too bad as Wild Salsa's location and atmosphere is very good as well as their draught beer selection and margaritas . A new menu and chef would be the advice form our group.
We were looking for a restaurant to enjoy prior to attending our concert at the Majestic theatre. We found this restaurant, reviewed the menu and customer reviews, and decided to try it. We had an excellent experience.....the food was delicious, the drinks were very good, and the atmosphere was very casual and friendly so it was an excellent meal to enjoy prior to our concert. The Majestic was a short walk so the locale was perfect. My guess was that most of the customers probably lived close by and were frequent customers. So that's an excellent endorsement for the venue. The décor and ambience is very simple and comfortable, so if that fits your mood/desire you're in for a treat !!
Started with very good chips and salsa and then we had excellent Queso blanco. Dinner entrees were stuffed poblano which was huge and some pork tacos. Very good frozen margaritas for happy hour price of only $5. I’d recommend this restaurant for it’s convenience to The Majestic. Service was exceptional.
The service at this restaurant was superb! I believe our server's name was Daryl--but there were at least four people who just suddenly appeared and took care of something that I hadn't even thought to ask for. This restaurant is an efficient, meticulous venue.
In my review, I rated the ambiance less than a five--and that is only because I went with my hearing impaired father, and we had some trouble carrying on a conversation in this happening spot. The food was exceptional, however, and even though it was noisier than my usual pick, I would definitely eat here, again. Try the flan--it's fluffy and perfect.
If I were to do this again, I think I'd stay seated at the bar and stick with appetizers. The specialty margaritas are phenomenal and delicious, and during happy hour, there are appetizer specials. I ended up being seated for dinner in a very dark corner and waited about 20 minutes for a server, and the entree recommended to me was disappointing (a chicken dish that was not described by either the server or the menu as having basically greasy, breaded chicken strips on top). Green salsa and guacamole were delicious, and in retrospect, I'd probably do a salsa sampler or other appetizers as the main was not that tasty.
They sat us in the very, very loud bar despite having a reservation. We waited at least 15 minutes before we even got waters. The food was not good. I had high hopes - but it just wasn't. Everything tasted like it was coated in sugar. The black beans were good and the overworked server did his best to make up for the bad food and his lack of help. I would not recommend.
I came to Dallas for a special event from out of town. This was such a fun restaurant experience. The food was amazing. We were there around their happy hour, so we choose several items to sample their food. We ordered the queso, taquitos, and nachos, all were very yummy! We also ordered the sangria and margaritas, both were so delicious and very fresh tasting. So happy with my restaurant choice!
