Wild Salsa - Dallas Ratings and Reviews
The service at this restaurant was superb! I believe our server's name was Daryl--but there were at least four people who just suddenly appeared and took care of something that I hadn't even thought to ask for. This restaurant is an efficient, meticulous venue.
In my review, I rated the ambiance less than a five--and that is only because I went with my hearing impaired father, and we had some trouble carrying on a conversation in this happening spot. The food was exceptional, however, and even though it was noisier than my usual pick, I would definitely eat here, again. Try the flan--it's fluffy and perfect.
If I were to do this again, I think I'd stay seated at the bar and stick with appetizers. The specialty margaritas are phenomenal and delicious, and during happy hour, there are appetizer specials. I ended up being seated for dinner in a very dark corner and waited about 20 minutes for a server, and the entree recommended to me was disappointing (a chicken dish that was not described by either the server or the menu as having basically greasy, breaded chicken strips on top). Green salsa and guacamole were delicious, and in retrospect, I'd probably do a salsa sampler or other appetizers as the main was not that tasty.
They sat us in the very, very loud bar despite having a reservation. We waited at least 15 minutes before we even got waters. The food was not good. I had high hopes - but it just wasn't. Everything tasted like it was coated in sugar. The black beans were good and the overworked server did his best to make up for the bad food and his lack of help. I would not recommend.
I came to Dallas for a special event from out of town. This was such a fun restaurant experience. The food was amazing. We were there around their happy hour, so we choose several items to sample their food. We ordered the queso, taquitos, and nachos, all were very yummy! We also ordered the sangria and margaritas, both were so delicious and very fresh tasting. So happy with my restaurant choice!
Second trip to this restaurant...and last. Chicken dish was dry and over salted. Likewise the red snapper sauce was really over salted. Queso Blanco was bland and unimagative. Really a decline from our last trip and judging from the very light crowd for a Friday night....others are looking elsewhere. I suggest a pass.
Fresh ingredients, an innovative menu, and friendly service is what we found at Wild Salsa. Brian was our waiter and he provided good recommendations. The cucumber drink was tasty! I highly recommend it. As others have written, the chicken enchiladas and tacos are delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food at Wild Salsa was amazing! HOWEVER, the service was truly terrible. They were swamped and you could tell that their staff was not prepared. It took us 40 minutes to get the margaritas we ordered and we had our food on our table for five minutes before they gave us silverware. There was an event nearby, so perhaps they didn't know they would be swamped, but it was a Friday night at 6 pm, so it feels like they should've been prepared.
The food was great. They were just not prepared for the influx of people coming in before the theater show. Service dropped once they got busy. Waited over 30 mins for a drink and ended up never getting it before I had to leave. They need to check the schedule of the Majestic Theater and staff accordingly as there are few options for casual dining in walking distance.
