As always, the Rib Eye Steak was so good. Great location for dinner before a show at The Pioneer Center.
Great happy hour
I took my wife here for an after Valentine's Day Dinner and everything was exceptional. Good was great and service was outstanding.
Worst service ever. We sat for 30 minutes and never saw our waiter. We had to ask the bartender to bring us our bill and never received a drink that we ordered. Food is overpriced for mediocre food. Will never go back.
Nice decor and great location along the river, however the food was overly salty and the vegatables had too much garlic for our taste
I took my wife here for our anniversary. We were both pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service. I would recommend the Wild River Grille to anyone.
I had the lamb - very tasty but small quantity. Had to stop at McDonalds on the way home. My wife had the short rib and steak. The steak was semi-tuff - you should of served a filet. For the price, not a good deal. We have attended your New Years and Valentine specials, and thought the price for what you get is on the expensive side. We probably won't attend anymore specials. thx
We chose Wild River because it was Valentine's Day and it was convenient for the concert afterword at Nightingale Hall at UNR. It was an opportunity to enjoy the Truckee River. The noise factor in the restaurant was somewhat loud, but did not really impact our conversation. It was a set menu for the holiday. We were not offered the complimentary champagne, but received a lovely red rose that three days later is still fresh and holding its head high. We ordered the wine that was recommended to go with the entree. It was good. The salad, crab cakes, and short ribs and steak were very good. The dessert however, was a disappointment and did not seem appropriate to the end a special Valentine's Day meal.
Was very nice. Food was great and cooked well. Service was on point. Steak lacked flavor though. Overall, we’ll be back.
Everything we ate was so delightful. The plate presentation was beautiful as well as the atmosphere. I will definitely be coming here again!
Experience was good
Food was not as good as in the past. Cheese was burnt on French Onion soup, and it was quite salty. Crouquettes were delicious. Overall food was not as good as in the past. Also was quite noisy.
Steak was average, not as tender as ribeye should be; the salmon/crab cake was tasty but a bit over processed. Meatloaf was delicious.
We eat here frequently before shows at the Pioneer. This is the second time that we were seated on the bar side(on the right) rather than in the large main dining room. Both times we have eaten in this area, the service has been very slow. So slow that it is challenging to have a complete meal and have ample time to get to the show. We chose to not have an appetizer course this time and thank goodness; we wouldn't have had time. It took over 1 1/4 hours to get through a main course and dessert. The main course didn't arrive until 20+ minutes after ordering.
The quality of the food is always top notch. I do wish that they would change up the menu a bit. It has been the same menu for the last couple of years. Special show meals are often interesting. One thing that happened at this meal was that one of us wanted a cup of the clam chowder. We were told it was only available if we ordered the prix fix show meal. Really? That's lame. What server chooses to miss out on an up-sell?
We will be back since the food is good, service is usually great and they are conveniently located near the Pioneer. Not many restaurants near the Pioneer are open on Sundays. I also like that I can purchase discounted gift cards at Costco.
Service seemed a bit slow, probably due to the theater crowd. Our server was very pleasant but sometimes it seemed as though tables who ordered after we did got served first. Food was very good, though.
I have been to this restaurant many times and it's always fantastic. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is really cool. It's located on the river with easy access to local theaters. I highly recommend this place!
I assembled a group of friends for dinner, and my original reservation for 6 increased to 16. Wild River Grille was flexible with my group size changing several times, and ensured the evening was a success with recommendations for the time of the reservation as well as the food. We were seated in their private dining room, which was lovely and elegant.
My guests all loved the food, and I quite enjoyed your prefix menu. Service was excellent and timely, which is not an easy feat for a large group. An out of town foodie friend was thrilled!
5 stars all around, thank you!
Great place for a pre-theater dinner with friends. The server paced the evening well so we had plenty of time to enjoy our meal without rushing. Food is delicious, and the wine list is good. The beet chips on the salad are to die for, and come in a nice quantity. We look forward to coming back soon.
Wild River Grill is always great to visit. Food and service are always first class.
Our first dinner at the Wild River Grille. It was a Friday night so they were obviously busy. Service was slow to start but did pick up. Our main complaint was that once we received our main meals, RibEye for my husband and fish for me, those were hot but the vegetables and side dishes were ice cold. Our Waiter never asked us how our meals were. We felt there was no excuse for his not checking back with us. Not sure we would go back as a result. Might be a better place for lunch when they would not be as busy as for dinner.
