Went to the Wild River in Reno for anniversary with my wife. So many kids running around and making it seem more like Chuck-e-cheese than what you would expect to be a nicer restaurant.
Mind you, I really like kids, (have 3 of our own) but this was over the top.
The food was so-so.... being on the river was the best thing about it. The service was hectic and less than desired..... but OK considering it was Friday night and busy.....
If you're looking for a better experience go to Johnny's Grill, forget about Wild River.... unless you have a 7 year old that needs to let off some steam!

Had the evening special - Halibut - $36. The beurre blanc sauce was cold and dull. The accompanying potato cake was a close second for a Micky D’s hash brown. The Halibut was raw in the middle. Sent it back for a redire. It came back broiled into cardboard. The best part was the four Asparagus. Is there less than one star?

Very slow service. A grilled cheese children's plate took 2 hours to deliver. After growing impatient with the server I took the bill to the cashier myself to run the credit card. The food though we'll prepared and ready shouldn't take 75 minutes to be served.

Pros
Live music made for a nice evening outside.
Shaded but crowded patio
Tasty food and drinks

Unless you have 3 hours to spend at dinner, go elsewhere. If you have 180 minutes or more, then this is the spot for you.

Being on the road for two weeks, we decided to give Wild River Grille a try on our last night in Reno due to the easy parking, attractive riverside setting and positive reviews.  We were more than pleased with our experience.  We were greeted by the room manager who made us feel welcomed.  Sipping well-made cocktails at the bar was a great way to start the evening.  We were seated on the very busy patio for dinner. Our server -- personable, professional and extremely competent.  Her timing was perfect with no detail missed.  I had the trout entree (nicely prepared and very fresh) and my companion had the meatloaf (a house specialty) which he enjoyed.  We were surprised when a bass and keyboard combo struck up mellow tunes to enhance the experience.  We chose Wild River Grille with high expectations which were not only met, they were totally exceeded.

The food was fabulous the service was very slow and did not receive refill on drinks until we asked again. I would love to return but the service must improve.

The Pork Belly Bahn'Mi was surprisingly good. The Brie & Pear Sandwich was good also, but way too sweet due to the fig jam just absolutely overwhelming everything. The French Onion soup was average. The French Dip was on par. I'd recommend the management remind the serving staff that they really need to be more careful when removing plates and utensils - not carrying more then they can handle. Our waitress flung a steak knife so hard that it almost went into the unsuspecting patron on the next table. Then she just dismissed it the incident as if one should expect such instances. Poor training on your part should not be overlooked and forgiven without accountability. "Sorry about that" is not acceptable.

Went there for Father's Day and The Experience from beginning to end was wonderful. I wish I could remember our waitresses name but she was outstanding. I ordered the mahi-mahi tacos and they were delicious. My husband ordered the special chicken sandwich and he devoured it. We ordered the lobster mac and cheese to go to take for our daughter and she said it was really good. I wish the weather had been better so we could have eaten outside but the service was so wonderful it didn't matter.

Second round of drinks did not come. Server left us waiting for dessert so long that we ended up getting bored and just paying (which took another 20 min after). The food was incredible. The Idaho trout was absolutely mouthwatering. The service left a lot to be desired, but it might have just been a fluke since they get such good reviews otherwise.

I've been here twice for lunch and twice for dinner. Lunches are fun, great salads. It is great outside enjoying nice weather. Tented for shade, or full sun your choice. My husband and I took a friend here for dinner and she and I ordered the special which was Halibut, one of my favorite fishes. However it was a little on the dry side. I didn't want to complain as the sauce, and the rest of the dish was excellent. I should have told the waiter, I just didn't want to make a fuss as we were all enjoying our conversation. My husband had the Sea Scallops which were on the appetizer menu and he said they were very good. Great presentation and our waiter did a great job!

We enjoy Wild River Grille for many occassions. Unfortunately, it was a busy night with graduation celebrations so the noise level was high and we struggled to hear one another. We still very much enjoyed our meal and our gathering.

The wait staff was very pleasant, although it took quite awhile for service after we were seated. Once we put our order in the service was quick. The food was okay, but not great. The dinner salads where very good, but my wife ordered Mahi Mahi and it was extremely dry. We will try it again for lunch and sit out on the patio. Hopefully the quality of the food is better. We ate inside this time and the interior appears a little run down.

Wild River Grill is one of my favorite local places. I often order a salad and the scallops small plate. The bruschetta and the steamed clams are other favorites. On this last visit, the music was loud and we could hardly carry on a conversation. We mentioned it to our waiter and the volume was immediately turned down. I love this place!

Wild River Grill is a special place. My wife had never been there, but I had. A first anniversary is pretty special and the entire experience was certainly that. Crab cake starter, beef filet (hers Oscar style, mine with added scampi), and the pomegranate gelato for dessert. Be prepared for pricey. With drinks, the bill for two came to $150. Worth it? Absolutely! Service from our server Sarah was A+ and the views and ambiance can't be beat. For a special evening, look no further.

My hubby & I went here for date night (without the 3 kids!) and it was spectacular. We were seated right away. Our waiter was amazing and very knowledgeable in regards to the drink selection and menu. Our appetizer of crab & salmon cakes was perfect, and our entrees were amazing. My husband had the salmon, I had the chicken. All in all, an amazing night, wonderful food and great service. Would come here again!

It took awhile for our server to show up at our table. Since it was still happy hour we asked what the happy hour drinks were. She left and got us a menu. When our friends asked what brand of alcohol was used she was a bit flippant saying “these are happy hour drinks “. She was obviously stretched thin as she was very impatient with our questions and ready to run off. As the night went on, she seemed calmer and more friendly. The food was excellent but for the price, I was not impressed with service or the dining area.

Wasn’t terrible but the steak was bland and Caesar salad was bland. I would rather go somewhere else for that price. We sat at the bar and the counter was dirty.
