Wild River Grille Ratings and Reviews
Food was excellent. Was disappointed that nothing was offered for a special event, Birthday, which was indicated when the reservation was made. We would come back especially in the summer when we can sit outside. An offering of at least one sugar free dessert would be nice.
It was a wonderful experience. We celebrated a Friends Birthday, her daughter coming up from the Bay Area and went to the play at Pioneer Center. Delicious food! Definitely will be back. Thanks for the service and the delicious lunch. I would probably prefer to sit in the dining area for the celebration but the bar was cozy. No distractions and friendly people.
My husband and I love wild river grill, and we have been there multiple times. Unfortunately, the quality of food was not up to the level of what we have come to expect.
My husband loves the French onion soup, he gets it every time we eat there, but on this visit it was so salty he couldn't even finish it. The wait for our entrees were longer than expected, but it was a fairly busy night. I got the chipotle plum salmon, which is my favorite entree, the salmon was good but a little over cooked on one side. My husband got the meatloaf, which is his favorite entree, he gets it regularly, but this time it wasn't up to par. He described the mashed potatoes as tasting like they were instant, they were very runny and not very flavorful and the quality of the meatloaf was not very good it was a little dry and kinda crumbly it seemed more just hamburger patty than a meatloaf.
Overall we still love the restaurant, the food was still eduble but not up to the standard we have expected from such an amazing restaurant. We have had many great memories there, but to be honest we were both pretty disappointed with overall experience during this visit, which was more disappointing because it was our 5th anniversary dinner.
Found this fabulous restaurant on Open Table which we've never used before when the fine dining restaurant in our hotel was booked for the only night we were going to be in Reno. It was a chilly night and we walked a few blocks to get to it but WELL worth the walk! The food, cocktails, service and ambiance was perfect for our one night getaway. We wanted a fine dining delicious dinner with a nice, relaxing atmosphere and that is exactly what we got. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and hope to visit it again someday. To say the least, we were glad the restaurant in our hotel was booked!!!!
I was hesitant to take 3 little girls to this lovely restaurant, but am happy to report that the kids' menu was awesome and all 3 loved their meals...sliders and corn dog with delicious fries . The waitress was wonderful and attentive to our needs (the 3 little girls) and was able to get us out in time for the theater show across the street. I know I can always count on a great meal and I love the atmosphere. I'll be back!
We were in Reno looking for a good place to eat. The manager at the hotel we were staying in recommended this facility. A good meal for a fair price, but probable best for the younger crowd with some noise. We were there for a quite dinner and relaxation and it served our purpose.
Service ok. Only good thing about Wild Grille. Place had unclean feel yet ammonia odor in dining room so strong necessary to move from our table. Paint chipped from walls.I French soup had so much sherry my eyes watered! Rib-eye advertised as coming with rosemary potatoes. Excessive amount of potatoes, but couldn't taste rosemary. Whole evening was a disappointment.
The restaurant was much too busy. Came 15 minutes early for reservation and couldn't order a cocktail for 20 minutes. Had water after about 15. The waiters are RUNNING. My plate was taken away before I was finished =- really??? $30 salmon or whatever the cost was. Bizarre. No thanks!
I was very disappointed with the first impressions of the place. One of the three hostess was rude. Thin blonde blue eyed. I don’t have her name because she didn’t acknowledge me or my guests. We had also made reservations to which we had to wait 20 minutes. She never checked on us during this wait. For first impressions, as she was, I will not recommend anyone there. However, the food was great.
My husband and I are Reno natives and remember the Riverside with fondness. This was a date night for us and it lived up to our expectations. We have been to the Wild River Grill many times and always prefer to sit in the West Dining room because of the ambiance. The food is always exceptional and a good value for your money.
I would not recommend this restaurant for any occasion. It took 15 mins just to get a waiter to take our order for drinks and food. From there it went down hill. My soup arrived 20 mins later. It tasted good but it was lukewarm. Then 30 mins later the entrees arrived. My wife’s dish was lukewarm but at least the food was tasty. My over-priced “Chilean Sea Bass Special” was close to being inedible, undercooked and cold. Since we had tickets for the show across the street we did not have the time to do what we should have done... sent the food back. This the second time we have been disappointed by this restaurant. There will not be a third. The one star is for the wine.
P.S. I suggest the chef checkout Pinterest for recipes for making Gnocchi.
