Wild River Grille Ratings and Reviews
When I booked the reservation for a birthday for 6
I was disappointed no one asked about the birthday.
We were actually celebrating two birthdays and it would have been nice to at least inquire about it.
The food was fantastic and the company the best!
The server could have been more attentive on drink refills as the water glasses were not kept full.
Other than that the dinner was fantastic
New Year’s Eve fixed menu at $85/person. We were seated in the bar area with 7pm reservations. Half the dining room was empty. Three selections for the main course; steak, fish, and veg. Over cooked the halibut then they ran out. No replacement options were offered and had to forfeit he Main. Waiter was great. Food experience was terrible.
Was very disappointed as Wild River Grille is one of my favorite places to eat. Was not worth the $89 per plate. The main course was delicious but EVERYTHING else was below par from the bitter salad to the petite fours that appeared to have come from a box.
The restaurant was very nice and had availability on a busy night. Food was good and our experience would have been great except.... the waiter forgot to put in my friends order which was an expensive filet. By the time it came out we had all finished eating and they had to bring it to-go. I expected them to comp her meal for the inconvenience but they just gave her a $10 gift card for next time.
Seriously disappointed. This restaurant has been good in the past so not sure if we had an inexperienced cook preparing meals while everyone qualified was off for the Christmas Eve Break.
All steaks (3 in total) for our party were not cooked to temp ordered and food was slopped on the plate as an after thought....zero presentation. At $40.00 each (including a 4.00 upcharge each for non-existant bernaise sauce) I expect a steak properly cooked to order with an nice presentation.
We did not complain.....just won't be back.
Really wish we had chosen the Roxy instead for our family holiday meal.
I was pleasently surprised by this place. The food was very tasty and nicely plated and the service was friendly, proper and promt. We were dining prior to a show at the Pioneer theater and our waiter made sure we got out in time without us ever feeling rushed. I'll defiantly be returning.
Food was excellent. Was disappointed that nothing was offered for a special event, Birthday, which was indicated when the reservation was made. We would come back especially in the summer when we can sit outside. An offering of at least one sugar free dessert would be nice.
It was a wonderful experience. We celebrated a Friends Birthday, her daughter coming up from the Bay Area and went to the play at Pioneer Center. Delicious food! Definitely will be back. Thanks for the service and the delicious lunch. I would probably prefer to sit in the dining area for the celebration but the bar was cozy. No distractions and friendly people.
My husband and I love wild river grill, and we have been there multiple times. Unfortunately, the quality of food was not up to the level of what we have come to expect.
My husband loves the French onion soup, he gets it every time we eat there, but on this visit it was so salty he couldn't even finish it. The wait for our entrees were longer than expected, but it was a fairly busy night. I got the chipotle plum salmon, which is my favorite entree, the salmon was good but a little over cooked on one side. My husband got the meatloaf, which is his favorite entree, he gets it regularly, but this time it wasn't up to par. He described the mashed potatoes as tasting like they were instant, they were very runny and not very flavorful and the quality of the meatloaf was not very good it was a little dry and kinda crumbly it seemed more just hamburger patty than a meatloaf.
Overall we still love the restaurant, the food was still eduble but not up to the standard we have expected from such an amazing restaurant. We have had many great memories there, but to be honest we were both pretty disappointed with overall experience during this visit, which was more disappointing because it was our 5th anniversary dinner.
Found this fabulous restaurant on Open Table which we've never used before when the fine dining restaurant in our hotel was booked for the only night we were going to be in Reno. It was a chilly night and we walked a few blocks to get to it but WELL worth the walk! The food, cocktails, service and ambiance was perfect for our one night getaway. We wanted a fine dining delicious dinner with a nice, relaxing atmosphere and that is exactly what we got. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and hope to visit it again someday. To say the least, we were glad the restaurant in our hotel was booked!!!!
I was hesitant to take 3 little girls to this lovely restaurant, but am happy to report that the kids' menu was awesome and all 3 loved their meals...sliders and corn dog with delicious fries . The waitress was wonderful and attentive to our needs (the 3 little girls) and was able to get us out in time for the theater show across the street. I know I can always count on a great meal and I love the atmosphere. I'll be back!
We were in Reno looking for a good place to eat. The manager at the hotel we were staying in recommended this facility. A good meal for a fair price, but probable best for the younger crowd with some noise. We were there for a quite dinner and relaxation and it served our purpose.
Service ok. Only good thing about Wild Grille. Place had unclean feel yet ammonia odor in dining room so strong necessary to move from our table. Paint chipped from walls.I French soup had so much sherry my eyes watered! Rib-eye advertised as coming with rosemary potatoes. Excessive amount of potatoes, but couldn't taste rosemary. Whole evening was a disappointment.
The restaurant was much too busy. Came 15 minutes early for reservation and couldn't order a cocktail for 20 minutes. Had water after about 15. The waiters are RUNNING. My plate was taken away before I was finished =- really??? $30 salmon or whatever the cost was. Bizarre. No thanks!
