Went to dinner here before a play at the pioneer! Perfect spot. Just walked across the street.
Food was terrific, and the service was outstanding!
The food was AMAZING!! And great price too!! And that hostess... Alex I think her name was, did an amazing job, if there’s any reason why I come back it’s because of her!!! Give that girl a raise!!
The food was amazing. We had the Valentine special menu and everything tasted so good. Hats off to the chef. We got there a few min early and tried to get a drink at the larger bar, after a few min we walked away due to no service. The waitress was friendly and prompt. Great service.
Our server was the best, and the food is always good. He had the filet which he loved. I had the Elk Medallions which were a bit chewy and I wouldn't get them again. Steamed clam & pasta appetizer was a large portion which we both enjoyed.
Outside and inside the ambiance was great. Service was amazing.
However, the food, the Hors d'oeuvres Stuffed Shrimp were over cooked, the starter was delicious - Lobster Bisque, The entrée Lamb was delicious - however the Au gratin Potatoes were completely burned on the bottom - but overall the entrée was good. And as for the dessert, well both choices were absolutely not edible at all. The "Tiramisu" was lady fingers with a custard poured on top - could not bring ourselves to even try it. Then there was the "Swiss Roll" - did not even resemble a Swiss Roll - it was a pound type cake cut into a circle with jam spread on top with a dollop of very sweet whipping cream - we did not eat this either.
Even though those dishes had their major problems, we will possibly give it another try as it was Valentines and they were super busy. I would like to say that everyone we came in contact with were super nice and very helpful.
We were sat in back an a small detached room. Wasn’t a fan of the seating. Food was good as were the drinks.
No music in bar was biggest disappointment. Food was prepared incorrectly for both orders. Likely won’t return.
Great evening! Our Valentine's treat and it was just perfect. Great service, great food. We will be back!
We found this restaurant on both Yelp and Open Table and drove from our hotel near the airport because the reviews were so good. We were not disappointed. Although the night was cold, we could see that dining outside next to the riverwalk would be delightful. We started with Wild River Mules to whet our appetite and then the Wild River Salad, which had a wonderful dressing. I had the Sauteed Elk Medallions and my wife had the Chicken Picatta, both of which were excellent.
We felt very welcome from the moment we came in the door. Every staff member we encountered was genuinely friendly. The menu offered a delightful array and we had a difficult time deciding which items we were going to order simply because it all sounded so wonderful. Our server, Brittany was amazing and our service was excellent. The food really truly exceeded our expectation including the very ample portions! I will most definitely be back to try some of the other entrees that caught my eye.
This place is under rated for it's food. Had the pork belly for an appetizer and it was off the charts good! Mixture of sweet and tender like no other. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and the cut was no less than prime. Service was first class from the bartender to the servers. Highly recommend!
What a beautiful spot on the Truckee River in downtown Reno. We had to drive around the block to find a parking spot which entailed going over the bridge and back. However, we are visitors and there might be a parking lot nearby that we missed - no parking or valet at the property. The customer service is outstanding. We called to see if we could come earlier that our original reservation time and we were accommodated. Each member of staff was friendly and efficient. Our dinners were delicious and all well presented. We had a beet salad and a wedge - both were excellent. We had steak and fish. The polenta with the steak was very good. We like that local food sources are used. All in all we very much enjoyed our time in the restaurant. We left and were on the road when we realized that we did not have our credit card. Maybe because we had moved up our reservation from 7 to 5:30 there was a hurry to turn over our table - our server picked up the bill fold before we signed and we walked out. All was well - we returned and finished our transaction.
Great place to have a great dinner! Loved the wine choices!
Great food and service! Crab cake appetizer should be tried.
Wild River Grille is one of our favorite places in Reno because it's near the river and the Pioneer Center. Their house salad is outstanding as well as their fish and meat entrees.
Everything was wonderful. The food was very good and they offered a menu that went with the play we were seeing!
the cocktails are way over priced. $14 for Belvedere martini, very small pour
As always, Wild River Grille did not disappoint. We had dinner before a show at the Pioneer Center. Great meal and service.
My friend and I often go to this restaurant after the Broadway comes to Reno matinee. This is the second occasion that they have asked us to leave because they felt we sat and chatted at the table too long and they were busy. We were not there more than an hour and a half and felt that this was an insult. We gave this restaurant a lot of business and if we want to relax after a show that should be acceptable. I understand that this restaurant is busy, but I will not go back again and I’ve been giving them my business for several years. I’ll go drive to a restaurant rather than being embarrassed and being asked to leave after only being there for what is a reasonable amount of time.
Wild River never disappoints! Fantastic food, drinks and service.
The restaurant is in a great location. I like the dining room(s). super comfortable chairs. The food is good. Not groundbreaking but pretty solid. Its a nice night out. I really enjoyed the evening spent with a dear friend and very good service.
There were about 7 of us meeting for my birthday our server was wonderful and patient with us — great service and good food! I had cauliflower tacos which I enjoyed so much thanks for having vegetarian choices!!
Everything was tasty and well presented. Would definitely recommend.
The trout was the best I have had that wasn't home cooked. My husband had the Elk medallions and they were cooked perfectly, tender & delicious. Will be back when it's warmer so we can sit outside on the river.
Incredible food! Great location and very friendly service. Love this place for a date night and/or family dinners with the kids. Highly recommend!
Great food, service and atmosphere.
I hope this experience was a fluke. We have eaten there before but never inside. The food was not as good as we have had before (Particularly the beet salad). The vibe inside was not good at all. We love the vibe outside though. This restaurant may just end up being seasonal for us.
Went there for new years, had the 5 course set menu for the night, the portioning could have been better for the price paid, and also I tried their seasonal drink “reno kisses” and it was not good. Although the portions were scarce for the first courses, their flavor was good.
Customer service and taste of our meals were outstanding. We love this restaurant!
We booked an early New Year's Eve dinner to avoid the crowd. Service was excellent, the set menu for the special New Year's Eve dinner was superb. We were very contented and will be back. We've never had a bad meal or situation at the Wild River Grille.
We had a wonderful meal here! Even came back the following night for dinner as well and sat at the bar. Both nights delicious and great service! Recommend the pork belly appetizer, the French onion soup and the Meatloaf!
Great Service, Great Food. Love this place💜
I was looking forward to treating my family to a special Christmas Eve dinner. The food was mediocre at best. One could tell it had been sitting for a while before it was served. For the quality of food, it was overpriced. The service was decent and the staff friendly.
Food was good as was the service. I’d return.
I wish thee was a recommendation option to select maybe.
Fortunately, our guests enjoyed their meals more than we did, perhaps because they haven't been to as many high-end steakhouses. In my opinion, the ribeye steaks were disappointing, but the filet mignons that the ladies ordered looked much better. The ribeyes were cooked according to instructions, but were much too thin to justify the $35 price. Didn't look like 14 ounces to me. Craft cocktails were also just OK. The $13 Philosopher was a skimpy pour, and the Classic Razz was too sweet.
Wouldn't rule out a 2nd visit, but the 1st was disappointing.
Going to the Nutcracker production.
Food was really good
The food here never disappoints! Came before our Broadway Show and they had a special menu with the shows theme. This time is was “A Christmas Story” and it was absolutely delicious. The pork belly was flavorful and the butternut squash soup hit the spot and the New York Steak with Asian sauce was also perfectly cooked. The meal ended with s’mores macaroons with cream which were heavenly. Amazing food and service as always! Thank you!!
Be aware that dinners are ala carte. No salad or soup options. My ribeye was rather ordinary for a $38.00 steak. The side of bernaise (at additional cost) made it seem more special. Dinner for 7 with only 5 cocktails and the tip was $523.00. We had a nice time but for the price it was just slightly above average.
