Great food. Staff may have been overwhelmed, but great experience.
We went to WRG for lunch on our anniversary, hoping to enjoy the riverside setting and a casual, fun meal. While the setting was nice, and the appetizers were tasty, it took about 30 minutes to receive our appetizers and about 60 minutes to receive our main dishes. They were not busy—only one-third to one-half of the tables were occupied. Our entrees were just okay. The spinach salad was a grave disappointment; it was served with cold bacon in an icy cold, flavorless dressing, in contrast to the warm bacon vinaigrette that was listed on the menu. The lemonade and wine were nice, but not nice enough for me to return.
Not only would we recommend the Wild River Grille to a friend, we have recommended this location many times to many people. My wife & I have been coming to this establishment for over12 years.
Never have we been disappointed. It is a must if you are in Reno, Sping, Summer, Fall or Winters.
BTW: the Trout was exquisit!! Thanks Danny!
Service was outstanding and atmosphere was very nice, and it was quiet enough to have a conversation which I really value. The steaks weren't of the caliber I was expecting in flavor and tenderness, but the salads and side dishes were excellent. My husband loved his halibut and our guest loved her shrimp pasta. Overall it was a positive experience.
I made a reservation for 9/21 at 9:45 PM. I received the reservation confirmation. A friend from out of state was coming to visit. Upon arrival, the restaurant was closed! We had to walk in the cold to find another place to eat. Horrible experience.
Thankfully we sat outside - inside needs renovated. Food was decent but nothing that would make me go back for (esp. french fries....not great).
Great food and atmosphere was conducive to conversation -- not too loud.
Very bad service. Took way too long and waiter never once came by to check in or offer to get another beverage. Had to ask hostess for an update on our meal.
Great food and service. Outdoor tables are perfect for a summer evening
Service was good, food was okay but entrees were way Over priced. Five sea scallops for just under $40 with basically nothing else. Other entrees were way over priced for what you received. Would not go again.
Too slow, too noisy, but the food was very good.
Perfect place to spend an evening enjoying good friends and great food. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The live music just added to a perfect night! Our favorite lace to take people when they come to visit!!
Great food! We used a check-in coupon for a free appetizer. The waitress, Brittany, insinuated I was trying to only get the free stuff, but I wasn't. We actually spent over $350. Great food, very poor service.
Had not gone here for a couple of years; everything was wonderful.
Dinner on the patio, listening to TANY JANE, is the BEST evening!!!!
My husband and I went for our anniversary and really enjoyed ourselves. While it was a bit pricey, we felt it was absolutely worth it. Our server was perfect and our food was delicious.
We will definitely return.
Ended up being a great meal with even better service. We were given the best table on the patio and our server Alex was the best. Will be back next trip.
Great patio seating!
Service was excellent but these dinner prices are way too high for us for what you get no bread no sides we were a bit disappointed
The service was excellent !!!
Great outdoor experience I will be back till it’s too cold. Great music
The patio is fantastic. The food superb. The service was outstanding. Eric Anderson's music was great. Now if I could only get back in the Music rotation for next season. John Graham - Reno Sax Man.
Great food and service. A definite plus is that they are dog friendly
We've been coming to Wild River Grille since our daughter was considering UNR and for the last 4 years, it has been a staple whenever we come to visit. This week, we were celebrating our now Senior's admittance to the nursing program and we came to WRG for our post-ceremony-celebration. We had our two dogs and a group of fellow-nursing students and soon to be graduates and WOW did WRG exceed our expectations. We were promptly seated outside and our server - I believe his name was Justin - was AMAZING. He was attentive and yet unassuming, had recommendations based on our requests and truly added to our evening in the most perfect way. Thank you Justin for loving what you do (or at least allowing us to believe you do!). We are already looking forward to coming back thanks to the quality food, the FABULOUS service, and the wonderful water-front atmosphere that we have come to love. Cheers!
Came straight from the airport after a long flight, couldn’t ask for a better spot to break the jet lag.
Great food and great service.
My 59th birthday. With my children. It was amazing the filet mignon was cook to perfection. The live music was soothing and very relaxing. I had made reservations for seven inside not knowing that you had an outside patio but yet the young lady accommodated us right away 👑🎂
First time to eat at the Wild River Grille. Excellent food and service. We will definitely return.
Good food prepared well and served in a timely manner!
Wild River has the best food, best staff, and best entertainment, with Tany Jane!!!!
Server Kayla was awesome! Very sweet and personable. Worked hard to keep our group happy and she did!
I sat outside to enjoy the live music. That was a nice experience. My party was comprised of vegetarians. This is not a great restaurant for vegetarians. Most of the menu is meat and seafood, with a couple of appetizers and maybe one pasta dish (mushroom ravioli) that could be considered vegetarian-friendly. There was a "special" menu for vegan, gluten or dairy free entrees. However, the one and only vegan entree was a portobello mushroom dish. If you are not a fan of mushrooms, then you are basically out of luck for a satisfying meal. The service was not great. Granted they were busy, but it took almost 30 minutes to get two appetizers and a salad. Would I go back? No. Would I recommend the restaurant to others? Maybe, but not if they are vegetarians.
Fantastic service. Had live piano outside where I was sitting with my wife. Server was friendly and prompt. Food was on point and exactly how I wanted. Will definitely go back.
Excellent food. Great atmosphere to dine outside along the Truckee River and River Walk. Nice entertainment - one man show on the piano.
Outside dining for 8 was ready a few minutes after our arrival. The waiter was attentive, but a little frazzled due to several large parties. Everyone was served, and I still hadn’t received my meal. I had to flag the waiter down to ask about it. Oops. Additionally, the live music was too loud for good conversation at our table, but it was pleasant. All in all a really beautiful night.
Awesome as usual!
Lovely setting with friendly staff and great food. What is not to like?
The outdoor atmosphere grabbed us from the very beginning. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, and exactly how we ordered it. This is a great place to enjoy good food, and the beautiful Reno summer evenings.
Amazing patio and great service!
Service was fantastic! Very attentive without being obnoxiously present. The food was excellent. Steak cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend!
We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed our dinner. Live musical performance was nice. Quiet music and not so loud that it interfered with dinner conversation. Service was good, not hurried but attentive. We brought our own bottle of wine; corkage fee was a reasonable $15. We shared the tuna tartare as an appetizer and the wedge salad for a starter. Tuna tartare tasted a bit "fishy" so I wouldn't recommend it. Wedge salad was nice size when split between the two of us and was good. I ordered the pork chop for the main course. It was very tasty. My dinner companion ordered the filet mignon and asked that it be cooked medium rare. It was cooked as ordered and was a nice tender cut. For dessert, we shared the "river mud" which was a brownie with carmel sauce and topped with a Klondike bar. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and this restaurant. Food was good although not "fantastic." We would come here again.
