This place has always been first rate in my book. Friendly, professional staff, great food and a really pleasant atmosphere! Try it, you’ll be glad you did!
The food was absolutely delicious! We had the tuna tar tar, the wedge, the duck, and the bread pudding. Probably the best food I've ever had. Hats off to the chef whom worked on the night of 10/16. The tuna was so fresh that it had absolutely no flavor... simply Devine.
My husband's burger and fries were above average and worth the $15. I had the shrimp tacos and found them to be below average and not worth the $15. Shrimp was grilled nicely but sauce and add-ons not to my taste. Nice atmosphere and service outside but would order something else next time.
Food and service was good. Wanted to dine in the river room but was reserved by a wedding party, the wild river room is not the nicest , no ambience at all. No condiments on the table, and when asked for salt and pepper it was your fast food packets, surprising for a higher end restaurant. Cocktails are very expensive, bartender was awesome. No sure if I would go back again , to many great restaurants in Reno these days to choose from.
We had a late night dinner, so had the place almost to ourselves. Our waiter was wonderful, although the food was a bit cold. The meat was quite hot, but the sides were cold. Did not send back to the lateness of the evening. We will, though, return again as the food was delicious!
Enjoyed the patio dining next to the river with our fur baby. Service and food was excellent. Slight breeze caused one of the patio umbrellas to fall over. Good think it didn’t hit anyone. Most umbrellas were sturdy. Just two that were questionable and probably should be retired.
Busy restaurant on a weekend night. Very good food, imaginative but not strange. . . service was not quick but we were in no hurry. Drinks are pricey and delicious.
Never disappointed, never.
Enjoyed the happy hour and small plates. Outside seating was really nice.
Good atmosphere; food is a bit pricey for what you get.
Consistently great spot to eat, right on the river in downtown Reno. Food and cocktails were great. I had Elk medallions, cooked perfectly, on some sort of fried risotto cake. My wife had a filet which was cooked to order as well. Had the deconstructed pumpkin pie parfait (I don't typically care for pumpkin desserts) and it was fantastic, perfect size, light and delicious.
Elk was very good, service was excellent, will be back.
One of the worst meals ever! Old, overfried, reheated, soked in cooking oil food. Oscar styl stake was terrible. Meat was gummy and you could bearly notice any carb meat on top. Trout was oily and hard.
We wanted to try a new place but we won't go there again.
Service was nice and friendly. With the exception of not giving us small plates to eat appetizer.
I read about this location in Reno and decided to try out the food and river view.
Neither one disappointed.....
Friendly staff seated our party of 4 with views of the river walk (to actually see the river, you have to stand up or actually go over to the wall). Service was prompt and efficient. The prices on the Happy Hour menu were amazing! We enjoyed the Wild River salad and crab/salmon cakes as well as the spicy Thai wings.
Friday nights also include live music starting at 6:00 PM.
Kennady was awesome and very helpful
One of my favorite places for lunch or dinner, great outdoor seating by the river. Chef was a little heavy-handed on the salt, but otherwise an enjoyable repast.
Took a friend there for her birthday on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. Booked our reservation on line. Called on the morning of to see if we could push our reservation out an hour and they were able to do so with no problem. We sat in the patio and is was not too noisy which was nice. My girlfriend and I both ordered salmon on a bed of tabbouleh and it was delicious. Salmon was cooked perfectly and still hot when our waiter brought it out to us. We will definitely be going again!
Great food and service and they really took care of our dogs as well. And because we can bring the dogs that’s why we go here
Good place for a date
I eat here every time I'm in Reno! Either have lunch or dinner, and have never been disappointed. Food is always flavorful and the ingredients are fresh. I recommend to anybody I know traveling to Reno.
We went to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, and it was quite disappointing. Table was uneven, so every time you moved so did the table. We asked to be moved and got placed right where they go in and out of the kitchen, in which the door was left open majority of the time and it was quite loud in the kitchen, of course. Our server never came back to check on us our ask us how everything was...ever. For the amount we paid for an 'upscale' dinner we were not impressed at all.
Great food and great experience. The night ambiance was amazing.
Service was very good, music was nice out on the patio, and the food was outstanding
It was way overpriced for the quality of food prepared. It didn’t really taste like fine dining. The part that really got me was the $10 glass of wine I bought. It was pretty good until our waitress handed my menu right over it, causing me to knock it over. I had about half a glass left and she didn’t even offer to replace it. Right after she nearly knocked over my husbands glass drink.
We won’t be going back.
Overall we wouldn't come back to Wild River Grille, and this is because:
- Food was positioned as upscale, and prices were upscale, but taste and preparation were poor. Save your money!
- Service: confusion at the hostess station, where we checked in, then they forgot about us, and eventually asked us if we would like to eat with them this evening. We said yes, we had already checked in. (there were only a few diners at that point)
- Service: entrees were painfully slow to come out
- Ambience: we ate outside, and it was super pleasant, and we enjoyed that aspect of the restaurant.
- Overall not worth $144 for 3 apps, 1 entree, 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine. With tax and tip came to about $180. Better value and food elsewhere.
Great experience - was Bring Your Dog to Dinner Day - the owners donated a portion to Animal Rights Group - love it! A bonus that the food & service was great :-)
A great variety of choices, from scallops (my wife ordered those, there were 6 large scallops perfectly seared) to elk medallions (which I had). Atmosphere was casual+ - a good foodie spot, excellent for visiting and spending time, near the Truckee River.
Birthday dinner for my husband
We enjoy sitting outside near the River and watching all that goes on
Great service and great food overall!
Excellent appetizer with signature cocktails, delicious entrees and outstanding service.
The place is amazing, the music, all the workers are supper nice.
I really enjoy my time there.
Food was delish, service was great, music on the patio Friday night made for an all around great experience.
The restaurant did an excellent job at socially distanced outdoor seating. Nice setting along the river and the food is very good.
Never been rushed through dinner so fast in my life. The waitress was moving and talking at warp speed. Even after asking us if we were finished with a course repeatedly, she said she’d leave the check for us on the table. Didn’t bother to ask about coffee, though she did ask if we wanted dessert while our hungry college student athlete was in the middle of his ribeye dinner. Very unpleasant service.
Great food as always. Larger portions for a decent price. We ate inside and everything appeared to be sanitized and meets social distancing rules.
Service from Danny and Brittany was ah-making! From appetizers to entrees through dessert and drinks - it was a GREAT night out. Thank you WRG for acknowledging our Anniversary upon arriving for our reservations.
Nice experience on patio, delicious salads and food. Will return again for sure!!
You must order the elk medallions! Great menu item that is cooked to perfection. Many great items on the menu and the outdoor seating would be PERFECT if there was a heat lamp for colder nights. Highly recommended!
The food was amazing, and the outdoor seating area is really spacious and surprisingly quiet. The service was slower than I expected though. Took a long time to get our food and we weren't checked on frequently enough. Will definitely be checking it out again though.
There were 6 of us and we chose to eat outdoors because of Covid, and because it was a nice evening. The food was very good, and the service was fine. The problem we had was with the noise level. The two-person band was very loud and we had to shout to be heard by one another. Bummer. I would recommend sitting as far away from the stage as possible if you choose to eat outdoors.
Service and food was outstanding as usual. Best short rib and a huge portion.
