Great service, great good and a perfect place to dine before catching a show at the Belly Up!
This restaurant is especially good as a prequel to the live music at the venue next door.
Menu is fairly eclectic, reasonably priced, tasty.
Unbelievably good service. I think her name was Vanessa
Excellent food and service
We had not gone to this place for several years because they went through a bad patch and we thought we should try other places. But we decided to go back this time and were glad to see that it was much better. I don't know what the difference was, maybe service or the cooks. But we liked our food. I had the Rad Thai dish and it was very good but a bit over-sauced. He had the fish taco dish and liked it very much, though too much food on the plate. Wine by the glass selections were plentiful and reasonably priced. My only complaint is that the menu is heavy on Mexican style food like tacos and enchiladas. They should offer a more diverse menu, in my opinion. If I want Mexican food, I would go to my favorite Mexican restaurant.
The setting at The Wild Note is cool. Music posters and photos on the walls. Since it's in the Belly Up Tavern building, it's very convenient to eat there before a show. Seating inside and outside. All in all, it's a good local place.
Great place to eat before seeing a show at the Belly Up. The food is good and the service was excellent.
Had a very nice meal with good and attentive service before the Snarky Puppy concert.
The food was delicious! I had the steak medallions and they were amazing!
We've been to the Wild Note Cafe a few times and have enjoyed our experience each time. We will definitely be back!
Had a pre show dinner with friends and it did not disappoint! Our friends had never been ti the Wild Note, and they enjoyed their dinners. My husband got the filet and I got the ago poke salad. They were both so delicious! Our friends both ordered Mexican dishes and loved them as well. Can't wait to see another show so we can have dinner here first!
Excellent selection of different types of food to please every palate. Definitely recommend eating here before a concert at the Belly Up!
We like to treat ourselves to the Wild Note before a concert at the Belly Up. The food is consistently good - we always get the lobster dumplings in their amazing port wine sauce! Got a bit of a sticker shock what the bill came, however. They had upped the price of these from $10 to $12, which wasn't noted on the menu, or on Open Table. To add more insult, you only get 5 for that amount - (c'mon you're making us fight over the odd number!) That works out to $2.40 each before tax. A little dear for dumplings....
Perfect - thanks!
Perfect spot for dinner before a concert at the Belly Up.
LOVE the Wild Note! I eat here often when I attend the Belly Up, but I would regardless. HUGE fan of the shrimp dumpling apps - been eating them for years. Don't share - you need your own!!! All of the tacos are great - esp the shrimp.
Cute little place in Cedros I highly recommend.
Wild note needs to ditch the archaic menu and begin offering more vegan items... the times they are a changing... the menu here should reflect that.
I love this place, but since becoming a vegan, purely for ethical reasons, this place doesn't offer any vegan entrees on the menu. Basically meaning I have to eat elsewhere before catching a show at the Belly Up. This day and age, when vegans are more prevalent than ever, and this place is rigidly offering 70's-style fare?
Come on Wild Note, step into the 21st Century and do some vegan entrees
Service was poor, especially considering the staff to guest ratio when we arrived. They seemed more concerned with their conversation that taking our drink and food orders. Fortunately we arrived early. Had we arrived at the time of our reservation, we would have been late to the concert we were attending across the street.
Way outdated menu - no vegan entrees at all. Totally behind the times.
Good food, good service and perfect place for dinner before a show at Belly Up
Wild Note was a convenient setting for a pre-event dinner while attending the Belly Up Tavern next door. Food was good, as were the prices and the best part was there was a back door entry into the theater so our group did not have to wait in line.
Again our waitress Vanessa was the greatest. She took care of us with the right amount of checking back in to see if we needed anything. WE love to come here with friends before a concert or lunch to relax. One of our favorite places to eat and have conversation. Nice vegan and vegetarian options but still has the great beef or fish dishes.
Whether going to show at the Belly Up next door (with access through inside, too), or just having a neighborhood dinner, it's a great spot for people watching and just a fun time!
Great food & amazing margaritas!! A great first dinner for our vacation in California!
Good quality food, very casual. Excellent service. Really a small restaurant and bar good for dining at prior to seeing music at the next door music venue. Loud inside - outside tables are quieter.
Read the reviews and definitely was not disappointed. A+ all around.
Used to love their truffle fries, but last time I tried them they weren't quite as good as before. Had a good lobster/shrimp dish though. Like many people, I visit this restaurant largely because it aids quick entry to events at Belly Up next door. I live in Imperial Beach, so it is quite a long drive, especially when it's a workday the next day.
This is the second time i've been to the Wild Note Cafe. I can't say enough about it. It's the greatest place with fantastic atmosphere and food. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I'll be back many times.
I like the Wild Note Cafe as the staff is very friendly as well as the cliental. My wife and I eat there before shows at the Belly Up. It is very comfortable on the patio and the noise level is minimal. We have a few drinks and a simple meal then off to the show.
The Wild Note is a great place for dinner before seeing some awesome music at the Belly Up Tavern. The food is great! Try the sliders!
Food is amazing. Love eating here before going to shows at The Belly Up.
Love it. We have only been to Wild Note a couple of times and each time the service and food were great!
We had tickets to the Belly Up, arrived a little early and got a seat right away at the bar. We decided to get in line to get a seat in the Belly Up so we ordered our food to go. They packaged it in a brown box with eating utensils just in time to take it in. It was hot and delicious. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
I ate here because it was easy access to Belly Up and no waiting in line for concert. I was pleasantly surprised at menu and good service and patio was closed in by plastic with heaters and comfortable. The waitress explained the menu items accurately and varied from pub food to seafood. I will be going here again!
Always super friendly servers. Great to grab a meal before a show. Menu is limited but creative and good. Location is excellent. Inside and outside dining.
Ate here before attending the concert at the BellyUp. The service was excellent and very accommodating to our schedule for early access to the line to enter the venue. The food is delicious as well.
great place to get a nice dinner and excellent drinks before a show
Attached to the Belly Up this is the place to go prior to any show there. Menu is diverse and food very good. The pork dumplings in port wine sauce are to die for.
The host sat us on arrival, nice table. Everything was great!
