Parking: If you are driving yourself, please be aware that on street parking spaces are limited. There are meters at Hanover Square and on St George Street. There is a Masterpark Car Park on Cavendish Square and Broadwick Street.
Take exit No 3, then head down Regent Street, turn right onto Hanover Street (which is the 2nd on the right from Oxford Circus station), then at Hanover Square, turn left onto St George Street. Wild Honey is number 12 on your right hand side, the building facing the church.
Very disappointed that the place has completely lost good atmosphere and service.
I go to wild honey every couple of months, and it’s my one stop recommendation for anyone from out of town. Flawless food, old school service, and whilst dining here is not inexpensive it’s great value.
Yet, eating on the 15th Feb things were just not great: piped intrusive music (there is often none at all), the manager/head waiter lacking attention to detail - I had to ask for bread, none being given otherwise.
An inordinately huge gap between starters and mains, and then when coming to order dessert being told that their signature pudding of Tarte Tatin had sold out - at just past 9pm. Apparently it was the pudding everyone eats, well, yes, quite. The recommendation - unsolicited - was that I should pre-order dishes I really want to eat (!)
The greeting/farewell from the GM, was warm and genuine, and the food was was exceptional. Yes, it was the day after Valentines so they were busier than usual (but that should have been a given) But if their eye goes off the ball then everything that was great about this place goes with it.
A number of years ago I was GM of a Mayfair restaurant not dissimilar to Wild Honey, so if anything I am more forgiving than the regular customer, I also eat out very frequently: my review is given in the spirit of genuine feedback.
Overpriced food- just lacking flavour overall. Not worth the money. Service- average.
Michelin standard food at affordable prices in a really beautiful, relaxed space that has real character. The service is warm and friendly- you really feel looked after. Highly recommended.
Lovely food and great value wine.
Some elements of service went awry but it was a very busy Valentines evening with 2 sittings.
This was our 2nd visit and we will definitely return.
Took my wife for our Valentines lunch after being recommended by a colleague at work. We were greeted warmly on arrival and the staff were friendly and professional throughout. The ambience was similar to a Parisian cafe. Cocktails to start followed by a a bottle of pink Champagne to accompany our meal. The food was outstanding - starter of Terrine of chicken and ham - wonderful - my main was venison - perfect - my wife had cod - terrific - dessert of for me wild honey ice cream with honeycomb and my wife had cheesecake - marvellous.
We will be back perhaps next time dinner
Excellent service. Warm and grit. Excellent food too!
As always, a pleasure. Food fab and service attentive but relaxed.
Delicious food, beautifully presented. Lunchtime set menu was great value and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
A lovely afternoon of food and drink. A very relaxed atmosphere.
Very obliging staff, reasonable menu choices, well thought out wine list with wide range of prices. Table rather small & once the restaurant started to fill up the noise level was high - perhaps most of clientele are loud!! Difficult to have a normal conversation!
If I could give the service 6 stars I would. Our waiters were fabulous and super attentive. We had someone on a gluten free diet (i had notified them before) and they served gf bread and a speacial pudding. The cocktails were delicious (lychee gimlet, pukka!). The food was delicious too and had some unusal ingredients. Plus flattering lighting. Will be back.
Good food with classic touch and new thinking. Fantastic service!
Our whole experience at Wild Honey was wonderful. Fabulous food and wine list, the service from our waiters was exceptional. Would highly recommend!
Best food I’ve had in London in a long time, would highly recommended.
We often go here for lunch and it is consistently lovely. It was bit noisier than usual this week as it was busy for Christmas but still perfectly OK. The food was real treat - but then it always is - and the staff are really friendly and service is good and not intrusive.
Poor service, plates left for a long time between courses. Food wasn’t amazing but not terrible. Very much spoiled my wife’s birthday l.... don’t waste time or money here, just go to Alyn Williams instead
As usual, the food was excellent. However, as a single diner, service was not as good as usual. In spite of having a reservation, I was offered a seat at the bar. Then, when I expressed displeasure, was seated at at able. Then, service was very slow. A table seated after me was served before, and was attended to frequently. Of the many times that I've been to Wild Honey, this was the first that they have been less than excellent, so I will chalk this one up to a one time busy evening.
Excellent meal. We chose the evening fixed price menu, 4 courses, and each course was delicious. Great location, super service, not too formal and extremely good food. It is not a cheap restaurant, but worth it for a special occasion.
I was given a seat at the bar, which turned out to be very comfortable. I was warmly welcomed by the bartender and the service was impeccable. The meal was top-notch, as always. I always dine here when I come to London.
The Working Lunch is exceptional
The food here is exceptional. I had the cod and have never tasted cod so soft and delicious. Its a brilliant place to sit and have a good chat and just be whilst enjoying excellent food. They are also very nice and make you feel special but are not fussy. The first time i went the waiter allowed us to have the cheese for no extra money. Its great when someone does this as you feel like thry are really treating you! Go and try especially if a foodie...the chefs are outstanding
We have been to Wild Honey 3 times (early evening) and whilst the food has been consistently good the last visit was the best as the ambiance and service was spot on. Well done!
Lovely place. Had a good window seat, but intermittent entry/exit of clients on a cold evening meant the meal was interspersed by cold wafts of air. Food excellent. Tip: On a winter’s evening ask for a table well inside.
The food is consistently great. One of my favourite restaurants. Service is very efficient and friendly.
Nothing special. Starters very average. Menu quite limited. I was expecting better. Environment cosy but bit dated.
Food was great, but the plates were cold which made the food cold.
Delicious food although cod main was a little too salty for my taste. The set menu was excellent value, cheese particularly good. Good service and cosy relaxed atmosphere, will definitely go back
Wild Honey is a cosy setting for a meal, with dark wood panelled walls. Food is very good, as is the wine selection (albeit on the more expensive end of the scale), however the service was lacking. We had to wait for what felt like an age before being served our wine, and then the food took a very long time to come out. Overall, quite disappointing, as the service is as important as the food.
Stunning food, every course was wow and great value for a set lunch. Unhurried but attentive service from great staff. Great decor and art work, it has a really calm feel about the place. A hidden gem in Mayfair.
Good service but food came out quite slowly. All in all a nice dinner, would recommend the eel starter
Absolutely fantastic - fourth time here and it literally gets better each time! One of the best restaurants in London by far
What a great restaurant!
Fantastic food, ambience and friendly staff.
A real treat......just don’t tell everyone.
Exceptional food, great value, lovely setting and very attentive service.
I always find the service lacking. I never see the same staff when I dine at Wild Honey. Issue finding my booking but did assist with the table I requested.
Absolutely love this place! David and the team are amazing and the food is fabulous!
Great food in a relaxed atmosphere in stylish environment.
Excellent food and service.
Fabulous food and fantastic waitress serving us, very humourous and entertaining! The Tarte Tatum is to die for!
Dining at Wild Honey was a good experience in general and I would return although to regain their Michelin Star and amongst the backdrop of fine dining in Mayfair improvement is very much still required.
At this level the pre starter/bread selection should be carefully considered and unfortunately the Sourdough bread on offer was stale even by Sourdough standards which made it very unpleasant to eat. There was also only one type of butter to compliment the bread. This would be fine for a gastro pub but not for a three rosette fine dining experience. Alyn Williams at the Westbury for example would offer a selection of fresh breads as well as a selection of butters and oils.
The starter of terrine was refined and the falvour was excellent with a deep/game like richness. Unfortunately the accomapniment was again a 'top up' of stale Sourdough bread. An improvement may have been a freshly baked cracker for example to add much needed texture.
The main was the star of the show. Slow cooked Lamb Rump cooked to perfection. This dish was faultness. Again though there was no palate cleanser between courses and these are touches that in my view differentiate 'good' from 'exceptional'.
The desert was a disappointment opting for cheese of the day. With no explanation from the waiting staff the cheese was one dimensional as three slices of blue were presented. There was an excellent cheese selection which I was not offered otherwise I would have happily paid the supplement to 'upgrade'.
A post desert of chocolate truffle and bun were presented but only when prompted.
The final commentary would be that an entry level 500 ml carafe of blended French Red is £28.00. Although this is Mayfair a single grape variety French red such as Cabernet Franc should be offered at this price point as New World wine will not cut against the competition at this level.
Overall a good attempt but not outstanding for Mayfair standards.
