Wild Goat Bistro - Petaluma
This place has a nice informal atmosphere, with amusing "goat art" adorning the walls. Unfortunately most of the food was disappointing, including the watermelon salad (a special). The most important element – the watermelon – was mediocre (not very sweet and carelessly cut up, with white rind visible on several pieces). This fruit is at its peak right now; there's no excuse for featuring it in a rather expensive salad, then failing to deliver. My vegan friend was excited to try this place because it offers several vegan dishes. She had the avocado pineapple gazpacho and the quinoa sweet potato cakes, both of which she described as just okay without going into detail. I had the short ribs, which were excellent. It was a hot day and we agreed that neither the beer nor the prosecco was cold enough – a pet peeve of mine. The carrot cake was excellent. I'm sorry to say that I probably wouldn't go back.
Wild Goat never fails to delight. Food is consistently excellent, with just enough changing in the menu to keep me coming back and trying new items.
Great food. Creative watermelon salad. Flatbread pizza was also good. Tight quarters and a bit on the noisy side but very good overall.
Great very and ambience. Delicious food!
Great place. Food is on the healthy side. Salads are very good and seem healthy.
Nice Area to walk around when done. It's located in very fun complex with picturesque old cowboy feel.
Great fresh food. Plenty of
Vegetarian options Nice, pleasant staff
We love Wild Goat - always different items on the menu and many different atmospheres based on the table layout!
Grat neighborhood place with something for everone in your group.
Wild go to bistro not only has excellent food but is also very accommodating for dogs. That adds to the charm of Petaluma where are you can stroll and dine with your dog.
Great atmosphere, great selection on the menu and the food was outstanding. I only knocked the service cause she dumped some blue cheese dressing on my lap and only got me a wet dirty towel. Comp the appetizer or something, she did say sorry but it put a damper on our romantic night out. Still would go back cause of the food being sooooo good!
Good people watching if you set at the window!
The front dining area was unbearably hot. It wasn’t a super warm day but there was no ventilation and it was way too warm. This was my third visit and the other two times we ate in the area outside and the back room which was lovely. I’d go again but not if we had to sit in that horribly stuffy, hot area
We love Wild Goat Bistro. The food is always exceptional and we love the great service. Really appreciate the vegan and gluten free options.
We like Wild Goat, but it was sweltering in the restaurant.
The dessert was amazing-carrot cake. The Uptown beet salad refreshing. The $17 burger with 3 fingerling potatoes was meh.
Food and service were great, but the noise level was such that it was hard to hear across the table. And more importantly the tables were cramped with a ledge on the wall pushing into one’s space. Will ask for the annexe dining room next time
Delicious food. A bonus that there were vegan and gluten free options. We loved everything we ordered.
18 years working as a chef and I have never been treated to less service and attitude for no reason at all. From the moment my wife and I sat down. Worst service I have ever experienced.
I thought the food was good. Waitress seemed annoyed w/ us. I thought the wine was a cheap pour for $11.00.
This was our first time here and we loved it. - Will definitely return, but ask for an outside table or the quieter back room.
Food is always great. Was a little warm / humid in the main restaurant as it's quite cramped and always busy - so food took a little longer to come to the table. Server pre-empted any frustration on our part by letting us know and comped us a round of drinks - a thoughtful and considerate touch.
My fish was great. Husband’s pizza was disappointing— crust not crisp and light like it has been in past. Dessert excellent as always.
Great meal at Wild Goat as usual. Food and service are always excellent. As someone with food allergies it is so great to be able to eat out without concern and have a variety of safe & delicious options.
It was a wonderful atmosphere and amazing food. Everything was great and we will be coming back very soon!
Friends and house guest made the easy walk from SMART train station for lunch. Historic building provides intriguing charm. Combination entry to nearby bathroom was no hassle. When an ingredient was omitted from my entree, credit was offered and accepted. Very professional and attentive servers. BEST FEATURE: More private dining room separates guests from others on break from work, promoting a lingering vs hurried mood.
Seating 7 outside is a bit difficult. Maybe think of other alternatives?
Food as always was very good and the effort to provide Gluten Free non contaminated choices is excellent and very much appreciated. If you want a nice experience on every level this is the place you should check out.
Not our kind of place. Owner seemed uninterested in our visit to her establishment. Food was overpriced and disappointing.
I love wild goats diverse menu. Our service was exceptional and the food was delicious.
Excellent local establishment with focus on local ingredients. Greatvway to start our vacation. Seated in a back room was delightfully semi private. Will come here again for sure.
We had the BBQ Salad - it sounded better than it tasted, but, WOW, that Goat Cheese with fig compote and poached pear, as well as the fingerling potatoes with two sauces, were outstanding.
Had a pizza, salad and a bottle of the house red wine. Everything was Gerry good.
The food was not as good as usual. The fig pizza was too sweet. And the Ahi Tuna didn’t seem as fresh as the last time. The price with the desserts was high. But the ambience and service were excellent.
Slow service. We've been here 4 times, and they always take a long time to take our order, serve and return our credit card. We sit outside, so they may not be paying that much attention to the outside seating area. They also forgot our appetisers. Then it came after the entree. Forgot my second order of wine. There was a mouse outside, and I told the staff or manager. It was hiding under the planter. She looked annoyed and said, there's nothing I can do about that. No apology. No suggestion to move table. I mentioned I'd like to sit somewhere else. She moved us, but I lost my appetite.
My favorite place to eat in Petaluma ... and I love taking friends and family because no one is ever disappointed👍
A favorite spot for date night and small office gatherings. Excellent wine, food is phenomenal and service is superb. Perfect location for everyone!
Family and friends get together. Really nice dining experience!!
Delicious as always!
Very well run establishment. Very friendly staff, and super fresh quality ingredients. A touch on the noisy side, but good food.
