Wild Goat Bistro - Petaluma Ratings and Reviews
Had a wonderful gluten-free and vegan pizza (The Wild Thing) and only thing I'd love to see more for the pizza would be a vegan cheese too. Perhaps Miyoko's Creamery brand VeganMozz, from Miyoko's Vegan dairy (a local) it's a fresh mozzarella type or even Daiya mozzarella.
The salad was delightful too. We had the Hippie vegan ceasar made gluten-free and it was super yummy too!
A few more vegan and gluten-free options would be great too so we could visit often and try different things each time.
We'll definitely come back some time though.
We stopped in on our way back to the city from SF. The service was very good, our server was polite, friendly and very attentive. The restaurant is a bit chopped up using multiple spaces for dining in the old mill. We were in the "social club" which felt a little confined with no windows. The food was good, competant but not as innovative as we had hoped. We enjoyed the cucumber avocado gazpacho, very creamy and refreshing but could have used a bit more depth with fresh herbs or a hint of spice. My husband enjoyed the crab dip which was too rich for me. We shared a pizza that was a very good but again not terribly special. The wines by the glass were quite nice. Glad we stopped there but wouldn't go out of our way to revisit.
The food was wonderful (and it was really hard to choose between the fantastic-sounding dishes). Our service was excellent, too. Everyone in our party of seven was thrilled by their meal, which spanned a wide spectrum and was all beautifully prepared, farm-to-table fresh, and delicious. My husband had the lamb burger, my aunt had a cherry and greens salad, and I had the parsnip soup and quinoa/sweet potato patties. The river is just outside, which was also lovely. I live across the country and wish we had a place like this near our home.
Semi-good service. had to flag the wait staff down to come back and complete the order and we couldn't get the waitress to come and pick up our payment at the end of our dining, had to bring it to the front in order to leave. It wasn't THAT busy, either. Pizza was above average. Salad was good, but way too much dressing - couldn't finish it. I wouldn't say that the food was exceptional- slightly above average. Not sure we will go back.
Comfortable seating in the cooler & quieter back area for our trio of ladies was very welcome. Very attentive and caring server. Nice wine choices for mid-day and loved my COKE in a chilled bottle ! Menu choices enuff to suit a variety of eaters. The mushroom sandwich was divine but the polenta fries were a truly wonderful treat . Entrees were so filling that there was not only no room for dessert but we were afraid to look at what nifites they would have tempted us with !Would recommend this lovely little BISTRO/restaurant to anyone !
Cute but chic, this cozy bistro offers delicious locally sourced plates. Their small plates were too incredible to get to their entrees on our first visit but already looking forward to returning and working our way through the rest of their delicious menu! A wonderful, relaxed date night away from the kids, the service was as wonderful as the food!
Poor service. Food overrated. Our server took a long time to take our order for 2 people as she was chatting with someone. She took our order for pizza a fish entree and pork chop entree. Instead of bringing the pizza out first, she brought it out with our other entrees. She didn't bother to clarify if the pizza should come out first. The pizza crust was soggy. When I complained politely to the the host she argued that the pizza is an entree that always comes out with the main meat entrees! The halibut was bland. The pork chop was decent. Will not come back here again.
Excellent server named Juan. Great suggestions and quick, friendly service. Professional and not too intrusive. I went with the pasta special, a penne with clams, mussels, and shrimp. Very tasty light red sauce. My dinner companion had a salad which looked excellent. We had a bottle of pinot noir and split a piece of chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was great. My pasta was served steaming hot. Just fantastic service.
I'm glad I made a reservation because for a Monday it was very busy.
Every time I've been here they offer very creative dishes. Highly recommended.
Have been there twice in last month. Delicious food both times. Love the pappardelle shrimp pasta! Good wine. Front room is noisier and more crowded than back one. Friendly service. Excellent desserts, mostly gluten free (but you'd never know it). Fresh, local ingredients. Will definitely plan to go back again when in Petaluma area.
We just loved this Bistro. Super friendly staff, great healthy food choices, local produce, nice wine selection. I highly recommend this spot for casual but quality dining and friendly service. We had a difficult time getting an Uber to our airport ride, and one of the owners offered us a ride.
The staff was very accommodating when our friends were delayed about an hour in Memorial Day traffic. Very good food as well as excellent Pinot Noir by the glass. We had never visited Petaluma before, but touring the area while waiting for our friends I saw no other restaurant that rivaled the energy and bustle of the Wild Goat. Should we again travel through Petaluma again, I would surely return to this restaurant.
