Wild Goat Bistro - Petaluma
polenta sautéed w/ pesto / topped w/grated parmesan / served w/ roasted red pepper sauce
Nice place for a casual relaxed lunch/dinner. The food is good and portions are generous. Desert was the best part of our lunch. Service is friendly are very professional.
Food was ok, nothing special. Salads all look the same. Finely chopped lettuce skimpy ingredients, not really worth $16.
I always make a reservation and for some reason they don’t let us sit where we would like. This time the hostess had an attitude and kept giving me dirty looks.
Chopped salad was delicious. Burger was quite good, but takeaway container of potato salad instead of fries was disappointing. Pork chop was very disappointing - tough, tasteless, and the most expensive thing on the menu. Ambiance in the tent is pretty mediocre.
Good was good
We had a lovely family dinner here last night, outdoors with our dog. The polenta appetizer, garden salad, mushroom pizza, duck and salmon dishes were all delicious. The lemon cake was exceptional. Service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a destination restaurant in Petaluma!
Overall terrific. I would return. Service, ambiance, food all first rate in spite of COVID limitations. We all shared a slice of chocolate cake with salty caramel sauce -- DELICIOSO!!!
Fabulous! Loved the gluten free options. Meal was terrific. GF desserts were amazing!
Super service and great food, as always. Parklet was spacious and especially lovely on a warm evening.
LOVE this place, knocks it out of the park every time.
Lunch was lovely and the setting very nice on the sidewalk outside the restaurant.
Food, service terrific.
We were unfortunate to have a food delivery truck delivering to the several restaurants at the end of the street. He was around the corner from us for a while and then pulled up and parked right in front of the sidewalk where we and several others were seated. He had his refrigeration unit operating and his motor on and off a few times. It was just unfortunate timing.
Polenta and quinoa cakes were amazing!
Really enjoyed the local wine selections.
Located in the heart of town
Nice enough outdoor setting; friendly service, but slow. Most importantly, the food wasn't very good. My salad (with goat cheese and fig dressing) was bland and dry. Another in our party had a stay fit salad and it was also dry. My husband had a hamburger - again, nothing special. He had to ask for an onion slice and mustard. The prices would have been okay if the food were better. With so many nice looking restaurants to choose from in Petaluma, we won't be returning.
Always great! I love the outdoors space and hope it continues!
Wild Goat Bistro is my favorite restaurant and yesterday was perfect. Even though it was outside the weather was great. Our server was sweet and very attentive.
I also love that they cater to all sorts of appetites. When I was eating meat they made the best hamburgers. I’ve been gluten free for twelve years and their gf desserts are to die for. I’m so glad they weathered the pandemic.
After having a reservation for over a month you would think you have a nice table in a nice area . There is no mention on open table that if you have over 4 people you won't be in the tent. So on a picnic bench we went like we just walked on with no reservation. Waitress greeted table with no personality and not very nice. When you pay 19 for a burger and fries aren't an option maybe the cardboard carton of potato salad should be full and not half full? Born and raised in petaluna I was not impressed.
Came by a day early to request an inside room in main dining room for husbands bday as the ambiance is fabulous there. A middle aged gal at the reception said that would be possible. As it turned out we were stuck in the back in a corner by the kitchen. Server was a C- at best -- in a rush to get our order, did not take her time with us at all. Perhaps she was crushed with too many tables I do not know, but not the best table side manner. The food was wonderful and the chocolate cake with caramel was to die for! Food was as we remember it very good.
We all had the adult grilled cheese sandwich- yummy on sourdough with carmelized onions. We had a choice of soup or potato salad. Two of us asked to substitute a side salad and it was done .
I was sat early for my reservation and service was fabulous. My meal was excellent, made with fresh ingredients. The wine list was really good with lots of variety and the best part was the Italian Lemon Cake for desert. Wild Goat is definitely a favorite whenever I’m in Petaluma.
Wonderful service, very friendly. Excellent food. Fun, lively atmosphere.
Will definitely return.
B day . Last minute. We were pleasantly surprised with all our courses. Desert was the bomb, German chorale cake . We will go back
Always a solid place to eat! The pizza’s are great - and don’t miss the polenta fries! Food is always fresh and tasty. Great for a casual night out with friends, family, or date night!
Poor service. Meals arrived at same time as appetizers. Our initial drinks arrived after the meal was delivered. Raw duck when ordered medium.
Met up with friends whom we haven’t seen (except on zoom) for over a year. They live in Marin; we’re in Rohnert Park. They are vegetarian and we are omnivores. Bottom line is that the Wild Goat has great food to satisfy all palates. Very fresh, flavorful, and a lot of variety. My husband and I shared a goat cheese, prosciutto, arugula and fig pizza. Our friends had vegetarian Shepard’s pie, polenta “fries” and watermelon gazpacho. Sitting outside under the COVID-era tent was fine on a warm evening but we look forward also to being able to sit inside when we are past the worst of “SIP.”
Delicious food and great service
A fun place to eat. Great food, great location, great help.
This restaurant is one of the few that is always good and reliable. Nice wine to table vibe...look forward to being able to eat inside again. Wine is always the right temp. Service is quick. One of us is vegan and they have a good selection for both of us. Would recommend.
We had an amazing experience. We ordered a roasted beet salad, tuna sandwich, and the vegan sweet potato cakes and had Italian lemon cake and vegan apple cake for dessert. This is probably one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time.
There was a mixup in our food order but the waitress made up for it. Outdoor seating is a must in my opinion and very relaxing. Would recommend this place to other people and will go back again.
Met here for lunch with some out of town friends. The food was terrific snd the desserts were so good. We had the lemon cake and the coconut cake and they were truly some of the best desserts we have ever had before!!!
The food was really great, and so many gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options! I really enjoyed their veggie burger.
Amazing food. Nice outdoor setting. Service was good but no wow factor
I love love love this place. Have been a million times and always love it - especially for its vegan options.
Friendly service, delicious food, Outdoor service/ seating beautifully arranged.
First time at the bistro. Had the off the hook tuna salad. It was all chopped together including the lettuce so it was like a tuna nicoise, however, not constructed but deconstructed into a pile of salad. It came with no bread or crackers and it would have been better with those on the side. Also had a smoked salmon and bacon BLT type of sandwich. It was good and came with potato salad. The lemon cake was good. A non frosted cake with a layer of lemon buttercream between the two cake layers. Outdoor seating was fine but our table and chairs were on the street curb so they were slanted which was uncomfortable. Overall pleasant but not the best place we have ever eaten.
The outdoor seating is very enjoyable. The service and food is always amazing.
My boyfriend and I got engaged and celebrated at wild goat and it was absolutely magical.
Excellent food served beautifully by charming servers. The chocolate cake was shared by all three of us and was delicious and plenty!
Second time we have lunched here and it was as tasty the second time as the first. We will definitely return.
I go there every time I’m in Petaluma. Booked it for dinner for the grandparents and they were blown away.
