Professional staff, took care of us efficiently, left us to our meeting. Food is always consistent and good.
Excellent food and service
Great experience. Top notch food and service.
The service, although a bit slow, was excellent and friendly, the food was tasty and plentiful, providing another dinned at home, which is great. We discovered two problems when eating the remaining food at home:
1. in the chicken chieu salad there was a long black hair, certainly from one of the cooks - very unappetizing
2. In the Kink Pao chiclen we found a flat piece of plastic about 3/4" by 3/4"
This is not acceptable in any restaurant, certainly not in one considered very good.
Great service, good recommendations from the server, good timing on the arrival of dishes (appetizer, main course, dessert). Spring rolls were hot and crisp, the pepper scallops (signature dish) were perfectly done, Chocolate dessert was almost too much chocolate and needed the whiiied cream to temper it ( could add a little more whipped cream).
Come to Wild Ginger if you want a convenient location downtown for dinner with work colleagues or before a show.
We were seated and served quickly for an early 5:30 dinner. The dining room is elegant but still feels like a warm, comfortable space. Our server did not seem very engaged or friendly, but took our order quickly and got the job done. The chicken pad thai and the seven flavor beef were good, but better versions of these dishes can be found elsewhere.
Wild Ginger has superb food, wine and beer but it's service is AAA+++. The attention to detail is constantly obvious.
Great spot for a group welcome lunch for a colleague!
Good food, delicate flavours, but all vegetables extra. Excellent service.
Wild Ginger used to be one of my favorite restaurants downtown. I had not been there for about 15 years. This most recent experience included poorly cooked and presented entrees and appetizers. The service was weak and impersonal. The ambiance was basically lacking anything pleasant. The only positive note was that it was quiet enough for us to hear each other and that was appreciated.
I have never had a bad experience here. The Mongolian noodles with prawns was great. I recommend spicing it up a bit with the spice tray. Make sure you get dessert after. I had the chocolate torte. Perfect.
Our daughter surprised her father and me by
arranging for and paying for our dinner that
included several special wines.
Server was friendly without being overbearing. Treated us extremely well. Loved the food. The Mongolian noodles were a particular favorite. Would happily go back whenever I am in Seattle.
Wild Ginger is a venerable mainstay in Seattle. The service however last Saturday was abysmal, and nearly spoiled a rare evening with my daughter. The resturant was clearly understaffed, and as a result we waited to be spoken to by a server, waited for water, and follow up. All accompanied by excuses, and blame on other resturant staff. "Its the bar, it's the dishwasher machine..." Final straw was a disagreement over the wine I ordered. I know wine, and can certainly tell a Chard from a Semillion. Please don't argue with your enophile customers. And bring the damn water. Don't make have get up to ask you for it.
Chicken was dry
Wild Ginger has a nice atmosphere. We were upstairs, so it wasn’t as noisy as it can be (a good location if you can get it). Food was disappointing. The scallop satay was good, albeit tiny. Very tiny. The green curry chicken was terribly under-seasoned and bland. Pad Thai was decent. We should have tried one of their more signature dishes - we might have found something with flavor. The wait staff was hopeless. First they brought the wrong entrees. Then they brought entrees before the appetizer. Great wine list. Good beer & cocktail selections. Although I’ve enjoyed coming here on my periodic trips to Seattle, I won’t be back. There are abundant better choices based on this sampling.
Their food impressed our out of town guests. Very tasty.
Service was super friendly and quick! Food was awesome. We shared the green papaya salad, spring rolls, Mongolian noodles and a side of bok choy.
Enjoyed trying all the different satay skewers, we ordered one of each plus the seven flavor beef... you don’t really need to order rice as rice cakes come with each of the satay dishes and it was enough, we didn’t need the bowl of rice we ordered
The restaurant is nice inside with plenty of seating. We ordered their seafood soup which really could have fed 4 people. It was delicious. We were pretty full, but had ordered the house made dumplings which were okay. Dough was a bit thick so it made them a little gummy. They had a nice flavor though. Our main course which we shared was the flank steak. Very yummy and tender. All in all great meal except the dumplings.
Great food as always. The duck buns and beef are a standard! Table was ready, drinks and service were great.
We visit Wild Ginger quite often and are never disappointed in the quality of service or food!
Wonderful meal as always. Have been coming here for 30 years and the restaurant deserves its iconic status.
We have eaten here many times before. Today they really missed the mark. Scallops were tough and wife’s curry dish was like a bowl of stew. Unfortunate as they normally are really good. Homeless encampment out front was also off putting.
The restaurant is nice and a nice atmosphere. The server was great but the food was lacklustre. The star of the table was the pad Thai. Everything else lacked flavour. The value would be good if things tasted better. Over all very disappointed especially when we were recommended to come here so we chose not keep our reso somewhere else.
We may early Saturday evening reservations and had a relaxing time with the privacy of a booth. Our waiter went out of his way to assure our order was available; and the food was all fresh and with the great sauces we have come to expect from this restaurant. It has maintained a consistent quality since it started long ago on Western Ave.
Very pleasant dinner and overall great experience. I highly recommend.
Wonderful food and service, great table. The only thing I would chance would be to brighten the lighting in the bar so that it’s not so dark. I had a little trouble finding the rest of my party.
One of my favorite places! This was a celebration dinner for a colleague completing Pacific Coast Banking School, and it was the perfect venue.
Our party of eight thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Wild Ginger. We were honoring a co-worker who was leaving and welcoming the replacement. Food was excellent (as usual.) What helped make the lunch so successful was our outstanding server; she handled our group with calm and friendly efficiency, addressing multiple questions about food preferences with knowledge and objectivity, and overall took wonderful care of us.
Very nice, the menu is deversafid and something for every one. The 7 spice beef was so good need to figure this one out for home.
It was our anniversary
Our server was outstanding. He made great recommendations and had a fantastic personality. We had the fragrent duck, seven flavor beef, Thai spring rolls, seafood Thai noodles and chicken pad Thai. Everything was excellent. Would definitely go back!
I saw the ads for WG and it looked great. Our experience was just as great. The food was excellent. We came expecting a lot and you delivered!
Haven’t been since we lived in Seattle in 2001. Thirty years in business says a lot for a restaurant. Wine list is outstanding.
The server we had made the dining experience about her and not about our comfort or what we would like. Demanding that we move closer because she was going to serve us from that end - it was an open table on both sides.
She wasn’t rude but she wasn’t nice either. And she forgot that we were celebrating our son’s birthday.
The food was outstanding for the price and venue. Very tasty. The Spring Rolls were excellent and Halibut was delicious. Great service as well. Absolutely a place to go. This is the second time fo me.
The food tasted great, portions are smaller, even though they boast family style portions to share.
They don't boast any special local sourcing or higher quality meats, but the chicken was extremely tender and tasty, wish that was something they did do. We would definitely try other locations closer to home.
The server seemed stressed and overwhelmed with what he was juggling, he forgot minor requests several times, like sugar for tea, a spoon and drinks. We didn't hold it against him, sometimes rough nights happen, maybe they were short handed etc.
Great place for a business meeting lunch. Handles an 8 top well, all food came out at the same time. Service was excellent. Will be back.
