About this restaurant

Wild Edibles Oyster Bar began in 1992 as a delivery service dedicated to providing the finest, freshest fish and seafood. The service became popular in no time, and in 1993 the owners opened its first retail location in Soho. This small location quickly evolved into what is now the flagship Grand Central Market store. It expanded further in 2001, opening another location in Murray Hill. By 2007, the Wild Edibles Oyster Bar and Seafood Bistro was launched there. You can find plenty of dining options, including cherrystone or littleneck shellfish and tuna tartare. The bar also serves New England clam chowder, crab cakes, grilled oysters and more. You can choose from a number of entrées like lobster lasagna, octopus with romesco, bulgur and pomegranate and Arctic char poached with ricotta, whey foam and broccoli rabe at Wild Edibles Oyster Bar.

Totally rude waiter and manager, who told me that the restaurant was going out of business at the end of the week -- so I guess that means he shouldn't care. I can easily see why they were closing down -- the service was atrocious and the tables are claustrophobically close. BTW, the restaurant has another location; if they transfer the rude waiter and manager to it, avoid at all costs!!!

My husband and I visit NYC often to see our son. As my husband is a hugh oyster fan, I booked a table at Wild Edibles. The restaurant is very small and the tables extremely close together. They also have a communal table. We both shared the Caesar Salad with their own dressing, and he ordered Oysters and the Clam Special. I had the Salmon, which melted in my mouth. Truly delicious! We both enjoyed our entrees very much and the service was excellent. We will definitely return to Wild Edibles Oyster Bar!

Great tasting fish, prepared and served by a very dedicated staff that wants to please. When in doubt or if you have questions they love for you to ask them, and their suggestions are right on the mark.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The oysters were super fresh and a fish main was delicious -- cooked just right and pleasantly creative. Great casual dining experience

We loved the whole pan-seared fish, the swordfish tacos, the oysters, the brussel sprouts, fingerling potatoes, and the wine selection! Couldn't have been happier with our food or service! Very friendly atmosphere, very relaxed and comfortable.

Great choice for informal almost "fish only" dining. Tables very close but its ok. Noise level is better than tolerable. The 4-7 pm house choice oysters are a bargain at $1 each. We had the Bluepoints. Great whole fish (bone in) offerings. The mussels and fries are excellent and an excellent value. Pacing of our courses from the kitchen and service were very good. A fair priced winelist.

Small restaurant on east side. This place was all about the seafood. Classic mussels were delicious. We also enjoyed the branzini and atlantic char, which were both prepared quite well.
