The menu changes with the seasons, but always features hearty, farm-driven food sourced from local ranches, purveyors and artisans. Our steaks are our forte; grass-fed, grass-finished, butchered in-house, dry-aged for 21 days and meant to be shared.
We are open daily for breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner, along with weekend brunch.

Consistently wonderful. Love
Great food. Drinks were delicious. They do kind of seat close to other tables so you can hear other conversations very clearly. The food is worth it.
Very enjoyable and relaxing. The service was laid back, but first class
First time. A bit noisy but service was very good and food was delicious.
I like the Ace. Good solid restaurant offering good and surprising new dishes and drinks
Creative will mix flavors great menu definitely be back
Our waitress in the restaurant was very sweet and attentive. We really liked her and she provided excellent service. The two men at the host stand were beyond nice as well. However, when we were starting with drinks in the bar, our bartender was straight out RUDE. I couldn't figure out why, just in an absolute poor mood. He treated us like an inconvenience and a total bother and refused to look us in the eye. I thought maybe I was being sensitive until my guy friend mentioned it to me when we got up. Very low class service. I wouldn't judge the entire place off of him..I have been to the Ace for night time events and drinks and always had friendly service. I'd love to check out brunch as well as I've heard it's excellent. I would recommend to management to reprimand him though..wish I caught his name but he was African American and had his nails painted black. Very off putting.
A modern place in a boutique hotel built in an old YMCA building, the food is interesting, they have a good variety of options and novelty in flavors.
The food was good. As the building was converted from the old YMCA building there are remnants of the old building visible in the flooring and walls.
Birthday dinner at The Whitfield was a resounding success. Delightful semi-private table, informative and enthusiastic staff, excellent food quality. Note: it's a noisy place, so be aware of that if sensitive to louder dining environments.
Should try and keep the menus "on line" up to date. We looked forward to the pork chop and the wedge salad but then they were not on the menu. PS: I know I am old fashion but would prefer not to have to look at all the piercings on the waiters.
The Whitfield restaurant is inside the Ace Hotel, which is a YMCA converted into a hotel. I loved that we could make a reservation and did not have to wait for a table. The restaurant looks small, but the tables were still spaced far enough apart from other breakfast goers. I ordered the fluffy Russian blueberry pancakes. Fluffy...yes! But flavor-wise, they just tasted like a greasy griddle. However, the warm donut holes were the real MVPs! Warm yeasted donuts freshly fried, rolled in sugar and filled with a vanilla bean pastry creme. Absolutely delicious!
Server had a little attitude. Server had a little attitude.
The steak and the vegan dessert were beyond excellent.
Excellent and savory food, very nice menu, casual and unassuming room, great service.
Food was delicious and service was great. I love the ambience, but my only complaint is that it was a little too loud.
We have been to the Whitfield four or five times in the last two months and it keeps drawing us back. It has become our favorite place for meat. We have had the ribeye for two several times and various cuts of lamb for the lamb dinner series. It all tastes fresh, is cooked perfectly and is properly seasoned. Vegetable sides and sauces are excellent. The wines are very good and reasonable priced. The service has been excellent, friendly but not overbearing. My only complaint, and this is not restricted to the Whitfield, is that sometimes the air conditioning is intensely cold.
Sunday brunch is delicious. The service is friendly. The space is noisy - a former YMCA it’s large and sound bounces off the hard surfaces. Still I would go every Sunday if could!
We had dinner here for our 21st anniversary. The server was fantastic. He kept the dishes coming at good pace, was friendly & made the occasion special. The food was great and, yes, it was a bit loud. However, we didn't feel it detracted from our meal that much. We would definitely attend again.
Excellent food, excellent everything.
I had an enjoyable brunch with my family here. There was a good mix of basic and upscale meals so a little something for everyone. The coffee was very good. The room was somewhat loud, however, it didn't bother us too much.
Consistently good as always. We had cocktails from the bar, the egg plate, the house pickles, followed by the chef’ steak which was perfectly prepared. My friend had the smoke chicken which is always good. And we tried some new sides, the kale and eggplant. Wine and dessert, all excellent.
The Whitfield always has wonderful food. Our server, who has waited on us before, is gracious, efficient and unobtrusive. This restaurant is a favorite of ours.
Great time. Loved the food
We had a delicious vegetarian dinner in which each dish was unique, had delectable flavors, and was just the right amount of food. The service was great and it is always a fun atmosphere to be in.
Love it! It was my 3rd time back! Love the food, the service is excellent, and the ambience is very quirky!
Great food, comfortable surroundings and good service. A little over the top on the hipster quotient.
I like this place very much. Always good service and food. Very pleasant atmosphere.
The ambience was very nice but the food was underwhelming. My pancake was undercooked, the roast beef sandwich was dry and over cooked.
The food was good but we had to wait for our dishes to arrive and I had to return my pancake bc it was underdone. They brought another one free of charge. It was good. Service was good too.
It was Father's Day and they did not service brunch until after 10am (we had reservations at 9:30 and waited over 10 minutes for our waitress to come to our table). The food was mediocre.
My tenderloin steak was awesome. But the best part was the desert. Best chocolate cake I have had in decades. The real deal. Highly recommend.
Our ribeye, the mac n cheese, broccoli, special bread, and my ipa were perfect for our 51st anniversary...
This was one of the best meals I have had since my move to Pittsburgh (4 years ago). I was incredibly impressed by the delicious meal (lamb sirloin roast) and service. I can’t recall the name of our server but she was a thin girl with short brown hair, a bit soft spoken, but she was wonderful! She was very knowledgeable of the menu and items and was so sweet and charming. I have already recommended this restaurant to two other friends since our recent visit and will be sure to tell more about this gem! Thank you for a wonderful meal! Please don’t change a thing here, you guys rock!!
Also, when making the reservation I noted we were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday and our host and server both said “Happy Birthday” immediately to him. This made him feel so special, so thank you for that!
Amazing customer service. Our large party had inadvertently made our reservation for the wrong day; the staff was unflapped, very accommodating. Our server was very helpful and informative. When our favored dessert was unavailable, he brought us a full selection of other desserts on the house. Thank you, Whitfield and everyone at Ace.
Whitfield is a charming, funky restaurant that serves classic dishes with a modern twist. The food is delicious and plentiful. My steak was cooked to perfection and the accompanying grilled escarole and fingerling potatoes were deliciously seasoned and prepared. The vibe in the restaurant was fun, trendy and laid-back. The service was lovely. My cheesecake dessert was light and airy and added just the right ending to a fabulous meal. I would highly recommend trip to this restaurant.
Holy cow, the brunch was incredible--the food, the coffee, the cocktails--all spectacular. I love the cool vibe at the Ace. The staff are fun and stylish, and you get to feel pretty cool while you're there, too.
Incredible food in a lively and relaxed atmosphere. Delightful service makes Whitfield one of the all time greats. My only peeve - and it was bad - was the AC: WAY TOO COLD. Couldn't stay for dessert!
Always enjoy their food and drinks...nice vibe and quality experience...we might actually stay a night for fun at the Ace - even though we live in town!
Excellent location for Sunday breakfast or brunch.
Service was very good.
A little expensive -$60 for 3 people, but worth it!
The water glasses had a humid smell - a turn off.
The pancake was terrific and the coffee was outstanding.
