Whitfield
The menu changes with the seasons, but always features hearty, farm-driven food sourced from local ranches, purveyors and artisans. Our steaks are our forte; grass-fed, grass-finished, butchered in-house, dry-aged for 21 days and meant to be shared.
We are open daily for breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner, along with weekend brunch.

Great food great service great ambience. We went twice in one week!
No complaints here. Top notch food and service. Attractive setting and ambiance. Very pleasant weekday dinner!
Such a good restaurant...one of the very few restaurants which a high level of personal service, attention and warm hospitality
beautiful place,so good for brunch, especially for a sunny day
Great food. The restaurant is at the front part of the old YMCA building
Cool atmosphere in the Ace Hotel for a casual lunch. Food was delicious. Menu was varied. Looking forward to trying dinner or brunch there .
A little louder than usual due to the music volume, but great meal as always!
Dinner was delicious and the restaurant was fun.
Some of the best, creative and original dishes we've had in a long time! I wish the seats were padded and the noise level was less, but my husband and I still thought it was fantastic and a good value.
It really is a wonderful place to visit if you live here or are in from out of town. Connor was delightful and very gracious with My extensive food restrictions (for medical reasons). The latter can make dining out super hard and even very disappointing and Connor and the team really made it a wonderful experience! Fully recommend early and often!!
Nice food (lots of local products), great ambiance and excellent service.
Our first visit to Sunday brunch...Heres the scoop. They wouldn't seat us until our party had all arrived which never sits well with me (no pun intended!). After speaking with the manager, they did seat us. The service was very poor and it was hard to locate our server most of the meal. The ambiance was energetic and quirky, fun and very busy! The menu choices were great and varied. 3 of us ordered the omelette w/side salad...good. The side order of home fried potatoes were not hot and luke warm at best, but the flavor was very tasty and crunchy. Yes, I will try to dine again. Hoping the service will improve!
Love this place so much for their wonderful coffee, dinner food, ambiance, and great service! Our brunch was enjoyable despite very salty food and overcooked hash browns with beets. It’s ok, we love the Ace anyway!
Stayed at the Ace Hotel and had a great breakfast at the Whitfield. Everything delicious: bacon, eggs, sweet potatoes, hash browns, even the seven-grain toast. Excellent coffee bar in hotel lobby. Thank you to Connor, our server, who could not have been nicer.
We loved our first visit to Whitfield for a Valentine's date. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. We told them we wanted to take our time, and they let us. Delicious cocktails, wine, appetizers, entrees and dessert. Definitely a new fav for us in the Burgh.
Two words to the wise: First, it is fairly loud space with hard surfaces, and a lively weekend spot. So don't expect to have a cozy, quiet experience if you're there on a weekend night. Second, the restaurant is in the hotel, which was hosting a beerfest that evening. We had a couple of drunk guys sitting near us who were VERY loud and obnoxious. Thankfully, they didn't stay long, but it did put a damper on our evening. Conclusion: you should *definitely* go to Whitfield and *definitely not* go on a high traffic night. Enjoy!
I love the Whitfield. Its become my favorite place for breakfast. I highly recommend it.
We were greeted immediately after we arrived. Menu offered items that were both familiar and new to us. Biggest downside was the noise level; it was very loud and we were seated in a quiet corner - at our request!
Brunch on Sunday was Great! Actually experienced where one of our orders wasn’t right. The eggs ordered was supposed to be “Sunny side up” but came out “over easy”.
Our server noticed the “error” immediately, and told our diner that she will get out the correct eggs immediately, but also left the first ones for us. The correct order came out quickly and all was Good! This was great service!!
Thank you
Great food. Great service. Parking is a bit tight but there are lots around to park in.
Ribeye Steak is One of best kept secrets in Pittsburgh
Excellent steak and service! The prices are a little high but worth every bite
Food was fantastic! Various choices to please anyone. From app to dessert too notch. Will be going back!
I love the Whitfield! It's conveniently located to my work and home. It's a great place to meet friends for a casual meal; morning, noon or night. The food is expertly prepared and always tastes amazing. It's always a 'hit', never a 'miss'.
Disappointed, the server was highly attentive in the beginning and recommended a chocolate olive oil cake dessert. After the meal was delivered and the dessert was ordered—that was the end. Server disappeared with barely any other customers in the dining room. We got coffee refills from a manager but the dessert never came out. No one knew where the server or the cake was????? We asked for the check-it included the cake we never got. As we were leaving a cook ran out of the kitchen with the cake. It was too late. We left. We have had other positive experiences there.
Went to Whitfield for a birthday brunch and it was amazing. I would recommend anyone visit this restaurant for brunch and I hope to get back to try dinner their soon.
As expected everything was great. Their steaks are always perfect and the sides delicious. We had three different deserts at the table and could not agree who's was the best. All amazing.
This is a favorite of ours since it opened. They need to change their original menu. It’s no longer interesting.
Always a good place for dinner.
The service was amazing and the food was awesome! We can’t wait to go back!
Best brunch I’ve had in Pittsburgh yet!
Thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Would highly recommend to anyone for a nice Sunday brunch.
Packed! I had reservations for a Sunday and got right in at the time I had made it for. Every seat for brunch/lunch was filled and the energy was high. Excellent food. Excellent Specialty mocha and coffee. fast service. Maybe a bit pricey, but I did have the steak and eggs. So comparatively there were less expensive things to eat. They make an excellent hot sauce with ghost peppers I wish they would sell. It was great on the eggs and steak. It is a top 5 place I would recommend for brunch/lunch in Pittsburgh.
Absolutely wonderful service and food! This is a great place for a date night or place to meet up with friends! The menu has something for everyone!
Very cool, very good restaurant in the Ace hotel (an old YMCA. A bit loud... but still fine for a conversation.
It was my first time here for brunch and I will definitely be back! Wonderful food, service, and ambiance. Our server was amazing!
Thank you Sam for making up feel special this is our favorite place
great food, ambiance and service - parking is a problem and the valet steeper than at other restaurants in town
So right away, I have to say the food is amazing and the service is top notch. Everyone is really friendly and super accommodating of dietary restrictions. But I feel like the vibe of the space is weird. Like the table tops are kind of small, I there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of seating, and the bathroom is far away and could be hard to find. Luckily I asked for directions. I just wish the dining room was more comfortable, which sounds like a stupid complaint considering how good my food was (I got the brunch steak and eggs, it's the best you'll ever find). So if you don't mind holding it and feeling a little cramped, it is well worth it.
Went with my adult daughter and husband. Food is great and interestingly presented. Service is fabulous-sincere and attentive. Will return!
Shrimp cocktail a bit small for price but still delicious
