The ribs were very good. The side dishes with the ribs were lacking in taste and quality. The quality was lacking. The corn muffin should be served warm with butter. The potato salad did not taste good. Just serve a regular home style. Do try to make over fancy and loose appeal. White winter salad good, but slice it to allow ease in eating.

We ate here for dinner, and it was great. Food was excellent and a good value for the area. Then we had breakfast twice, and both times it was disappointing. The cooks don’t know how to properly cook eggs (they did not understand what poached eggs are supposed to be like, and burned the edges of a fried egg) and the sweet dishes like French toast and pancakes were also disappointing. It feels like they need to hire more knowledgeable staff for breakfast, but would recommend for dinner.

I have eaten here many times before, and food has always been satisfactory. Nothinh amazing, but good enough for Mammoth (not a foodie’s haven). But last night was a new low - the kimchi fried rice was inedible (absolutely no taste), and the kale salad was beyond tough. My friend’s halumi plate was so salty that she had to send it back. The best I can say, our waitress was very nice and the cocktails were good. Will not come back.

We ate at Whitebark twice as it was conveniently located at the Westin. The food was great. Lots of choice, creative menu and good vegetarian options. The only major criticism i would have is that the restaurant manager was awful. She was extremely rude and disrespectful to us, unbecoming of a restaurant of this caliber. The restaurant ownership and senior management should seriously consider putting her in a position where she does not interact with patrons (such as a dishwasher)

Our server sunny was absolutely adorable, and very accommodating. The food, however, was worse than disappointing. The shrimp and grits were doused in some kind of buffalo wings, Tabasco sauce and the grits were swimming in liquid. There was really no texture. the oysters Rockefeller were delicious although there were only four pieces and so it felt a little short.

The menu on Open Table is outdated, and the items listed were unavailable upon request. The new menu was too try-hard bougie and eliminated any basic comfort foods. The beet salad was saturated in vinegar, overpowering any other flavors in the dish. The calamari was oily, bland and soggy. Worst calamari known to mankind. The kids’ Donald Duck Ceasar Salad was drenched in salty dressing and served with overcooked, unrecognizable chicken(?) and a rock solid breadstick. The halibut was highly recommended by 2 servers, but was an absolute disappointment due to its blandness and accompaniment of mushy white rice. We were not able to force ourselves to eat any of these dishes. We politely gave this feedback to the server about the food. She gave us attitude and didn’t offer any suggestion of consolation. We left the establishment feeling hungry and broke. We shall not return to White Bark on future Mammoth trips.

I read reviews before making reservation, but thought no way it could be this bad and if it was, clearly a major chain hotel restaurant would make the necessary changes to address all the bad reviews. It was as bad as everyone says, unfriendly front desk staff, understaffed throughout, mediocre airport food and ridiculous prices. To be fair once, after sitting for more than 20 minutes, our server came over, she did everything in her power to make it a good dinner, but odds were stacked against her. She apparently had more than 10 tables and kitchen was understaffed and backed up. They had only one busboy to relieve the servers, most of whom looked frazzled and ready to walk out. The funny/sad thing was a hotel manager stopped in a few times and surveyed the scene like he was proud of what was happening. My 11 year old noticed how rough it was, but he couldn't?

We had dinner on Valentine’s Day 2024 during our weeklong visit to Mammoth. Our experience was poor at every moment of the evening. When we arrived we were greeted by an empty host stand where we waited 5 minutes before being seated. When we sat down it took five minutes before our server arrived who never introduced herself. We waited a little more to get water. We ordered two cocktails, two appetizers and two entrees. 24 minutes later one of two appetizers arrived. We waited another 7 minutes for our other appetizer and drinks to arrive, both cocktails were wrong. One appetizer was good but the cooked carrots were burned, lukewarm, and inedible. After 54 minutes our entrees arrived. They were both very uninspired and this is when we were first offered bread. When we spoke to the manager to complain about the long wait and the drinks being wrong she could not have cared less but did comp the drinks. Nobody at the restaurant acknowledged that it was Valentine’s day. And just to nitpick, our tabletop was old and worn needing to be sanded and refinished like the others. EVERYTHING about this restaurant seemed an afterthought. Worst service and meal that we have ever experienced. Will never return and will advise others to avoid Whitebark.

We stayed at the Westin and ate there many times for breakfast and dinner. Overall, the food was good. One of the salads had too much vinegar with no oil. The other salad had too much garlic. Desserts were good and service was nice.

I would love to recommend this restaurant and had high hopes going in. Mammoth had just been hit with a big storm the week before, so lots of skiers in town Saturday night. Menu looked good so made a reservation on Friday. The address is on Canyon Blvd but we could not find parking. Called restaurant and told that valet is not open so best to park in the City lot two blocks away. Did so and walked three blocks in very cold weather and then found that the restaurant was up a very long flight of outdoor stairs (85 steps) then up another flight to the second floor--and in high altitude. We are all seriously out of breath when we got to the restaurant. Got there on time. Very cute ambience and we caught our breath and were excited to eat. We had made the reservation for 4, but another friend was able to join and we told the hostess we would be 5. She said would have to check and came back to say that a party of 5 was leaving and asked us to wait a few minutes. 20 minutes later, we pointed out several other empty tables that would easily fit 5, but we were setting one for us and would be ready in just a few minutes. 50 minutes after arriving, the hostess took us back. Waited 10 minutes for our waiter to come to the table. At this point, we just wanted to get a quick meal and get out, so ordered two turkey sandwiches, two burgers and a pasta dish as we thought this would be quick. Waiter was polite and took our order back. 15 minutes later he brought our glass of wine, and 40 minutes after we had been seated, our meals arrived. At this point, more than 1/2 the tables are empty, so cannot imagine how it could take so long. Burgers and pasta were solid--turkey sandwiches were awkward. We ate quickly, paid our bill and left. By far our worst experience of the trip. Very sad as it could have been such a good spot! Sadly, cannot recommend.

I don’t know why people give this restaurant such bad reviews, Our drinks were great service was fine and food was not anything to get excited about but it wasn’t as bad as the reviews I read.. it just depends on what you order I guess. My son had the burger with all the extras and loved it I had the wedge salad it was delicious my daughter in law had the beat salad which was good but should have gotten the dressing on the side other then that it was a nice dinner experience..

A Culinary Comedy of Errors: The Horrible Restaurant Experience Prepare yourself for a gastronomic rollercoaster ride like no other! I must regale you with the tale of a restaurant that has truly mastered the art of culinary catastrophe. Picture this: lukewarm chicken soup, so bland it could put a snail to sleep, with a twist that defies all logic - spaghetti posing as noodles! Oh, the audacity! But hold on, dear readers, for there's more. Brace yourself for a beet salad drowned in an overabundance of red wine vinegar, a tangy tsunami that leaves your taste buds begging for mercy. And let's not forget the salad with a blue cheese dressing that has been diluted with ranch dressing, resulting in a flavor profile that can only be described as a sad symphony of confusion. This restaurant is a comedy show in disguise, where each dish is a punchline that will leave you chuckling in disbelief. So gather your sense of humor and a strong stomach, for this culinary disaster is a tale to be told, a cautionary comedy for food lovers everywhere. Bon appétit, my brave comrades, and may your future dining adventures be filled with better choices and fewer punchlines on the plate!

Tried to secure a nice table by the window for my Husbands bday dinner. Went in early and the day to secure this. They showed me a nice table we could have Went in at reservation time and they sat the couple in front of us there and put us in a crappy booth with the view of a wood beam. Hostess did not care when I told her what happened. Told me she would send the manager over and no manager ever came. Very frustrating. Just trying to make his dinner a little more special. Not asking for a lot. Food was not good. Beet salad was bitter. This is not a fine dining restaurant.

Shoulder season, mid-week but it was our anniversary and our first choice had to cancel because of staffing issues. Obviously things slow down, minimal staffing, no specials. So it was fine, but nothing special or spectacular. There was a guy watching videos on his phone at the table next to ours, which was rather distracting but typical of a hotel restaurant with residents dining alone. The food was ok, with some lighter options that I appreciated. The menu is fairly standard, with some vaguely mediterranean/levant influence. I enjoyed my chicken mezze, and my husband liked his halibut with risotto. The overall vibe was very much just get in, get fed, get out tho. Very Westin/Marriott meh. Staff... oof. There was no valet when we arrived. I got out of the car and looked inside. The desk staff glanced my way but didn't seem interested in covering for the bell stand. I finally approached them, and one kid seemed willing to take our keys and move the car. Didn't take a name or ticket, but whatever, shoulder season, who's gonna steal my car anyway? After dinner, still no bell stand staff, and no one at the front desk really knew what was going on. Finally found someone who knew where our keys were, after about a 15 minute wait. It's not as if they were busy, just clueless. They still wanted to be paid, but didn't have change for a $20. Honestly at that point, anyone with an ounce of customer service sense would have simply waived the measly fee for valet parking, but no, we had to stand around for another 10 minutes waiting for them to figure out how to make change. Seriously management? Give your off-season staff a little training please.

Awful experience, incorrect order, no Grand Mariner in Cadillac Margarita, awful tasting food, poor choices in Menu, beet salad had only 2 thin beets in it… 😞

The manager, Antonio, was welcoming and professional. So was the wait staff. Although our expectations are generally lower when it comes to the food in hotel restaurants, Whitebark was a pleasant exception. We would definitely return.

We ordered the ribeye for $65.00 and was probably the worst steak I have ever had. Very poor quality. Whole experience was over priced for the quality of food. We spent almost $400.00 for 2 on dinner. Will not return!
