A really nice place to eat and grab a drink. Probably the nicest place in town. They try to be a little fancy on the food and ingredients, but its very pretty, and service attentive. Quiet so you can talk to your party. Will be going back!

The short rib was melt in your mouth delicious. The steaks were better last year. Different cuts and not as good. Overall, still a nice dining experience.

For some reason, booking large tables here is difficult. There isn't somebody onsite who seems to deal with large party requests. tried, repeatedly, to call and speak to someone about booking a large table for the 18 of us who wanted to dine there this past weekend and were told repeatedly that it couldn't be done in advance, we'd just have to hope for the best when we got there. OK. Fine. We'll get there early and see if the staff can make it happen. Amazingly, when we got there for dinner there was a table set for 20. But not for us! Oddly, we had a 6-top, another 6-top, someone else had a 6-top, and then our group had the next 6-top. So 18 out of 24 seats across from the 20-top table. Going to have to work really hard to explain to me why our 3 6-tops couldn't have been combined into one large table, as the 20-top table across the aisle was set up. Even harder to explain why we weren't side-by-side instead of broken up by a separate party's 6-top. Makes zero sense.

Torenados beef filets- were outstanding! Had their jalapeño sweet potato soup- exceptional such that we had it 2 nights in a row! Their chopped salad was great to! Large enough to split between 2 diners! Great service! Best of best restaurant in mammoth lakes!

Arrived late(9:30pm) Kitchen appeared cleaned up for the night. No other customers except for two police officers eating.
Server was very nice. My two guests said that they enjoyed their dinner. My dinner was a beef bourbon bbq rib. It was about 60% fat. Very disappointing. Tipped well because of good service from young New Zealand girl.
Won’t be back.

This restaurant has received mixed reviews over the years. This year it was amazing. We ate 2 nights out 4. The whitebark salad might be the best salad I have ever had and I really like green salads. Everything else was really great from the Milanese, to the filets, to the ribeye, to the cheese plate. I don’t know if anything changed this winter season from last, but hats off to the new menu. Thanks for great meals!

Had the 4 course tasting menu with wine pairing for New Year’s Eve. Food was good; however came out very fast. 4 courses in 45 minutes. No time to drink the wine. Food always came out and then we had to ask for the wine wine that course. Arugula salad and pear dessert both left a lot to be desired. Starter and entrees were delicious. Couldn’t even drink the wine. No time.

I'd recommend Whitebark on any night other than New Year's Eve. It was way over priced, and pretty bad service... I just don't think they were prepared. For the price they charged, you'd expect 5-star service, but it was more like 2-star. Would not go back for New Years Eve or any other holiday, but on a non-holiday, we'd go back for sure.

Pre-paid New year’s Eve Prix Fixe 4 course dinner. Cost was $350 for two adults and one child. We received our first course before getting our wine. Food was made in advance and had obviously been sitting there for awhile. Scallops appetizer was the best course but they suffered from being made probably 30 mins prior to service. Salad was basic. Sea bass entree was a 2 oz portion of fish over greasy limp vegetables. Chilean Sea Bass is difficult to mess up but somehow my piece was rubbery and inedible. When I told the person it was bad, it was met with indifference. The dessert was the worst course—it was a super hard “poached” pear that was so bitter that none of us ate it. Again the untouched plates were met with indifference. Service was poor and no coordination amongst servers. One of our courses was almost served twice.

Overall: apathetic service, inedible food, expensive. We left hungry after a $350 dinner.

Given the ratings on yelp I was worried about eating there but we were pleasantly surprised. The food was all tasty and fresh and well-presented. The service was great too.

We had steaks and vegetables sides. The broccolini was tough and in edible. My filet mignon was requested rare, but it was actually cold in the middle. The mushroom side dish was good. The biggest issue was the expense of the meal. Outrageously expensive compared to the quality of the food. This is a common issue with hotel restaurants, but this was particularly bad.

Admittedly our experience was late spring so that we practically had the entire restaurant and staff for ourselves, but I can hardly imagine that the wonderful ambience, food or service would’ve been absent on a busy winter night. Everything was perfectly prepared. Great menu with probably something for everyone, excellent wine and cocktails list, and our waiter (Nate) was attentive and very friendly. Strongly recommend as a nice touch to a Mammoth experience.

The food was actually quite bad.......side of mushrooms tasted disgusting.....burger was Blah.....salmon totally overcooked....crab with it was tasty......service was slow to nonexistent......& told server that the mushrooms were horrible & she just said OK.....& took them away....no offer to even remove from bill......booth we sat at (the same one we sat at 2 years ago) was repaired with duct tape (it had duct tape on it 2 years ago).....& it got adhesive on my jeans........prices like a 4seasons restaurant......but I’ve had better meals at every other restaurant in mammoth

No management present all evening while other tables needed to be spoken to about voice volume control. Chucky Cheese has less noise than the back room near their fireplace.

We have dined at Whitebark since it’s inception but have been disappointed over the past three years by the incredibly shrinking menu, deleting so many choices that we have decided to no longer make plans to eat there.

When we arrived, the table was ready. Service provided by Jordan was excellent and the food was fabulous. Two of us ordered the Salmon Oscar and two ordered the Filet. The Filets were cooked exactly as ordered. Definitely recommend coming here and look forward to returning here when we are back on the sloped in June!

The menu is very limited especially for a family resort. The kids menu has horrible selections. Nothing kid friendly about it. Kids don’t want to eat a deconstructed Caesar salad for dinner!

As guests of the hotel, Whitebark was an easy and convenient choice for an early dinner before an 8:30pm comedy show up at Mammoth's Canyon Lodge. We were especially impressed with the food quality.

Very limited menu, additionally, they reportedly “unfortunately” did not have scallops, one of their few appetizers, again “unfortunately” did not offer bread. No elevator for those coming from gondola street level, access difficult for those in need. For being the Westin, the restaurant was below average.

Please Trust Me... This restaurant was good two years ago. It had a good menu, good service and nice ambiance. Now it is truly awful! The menu is EXTREMELY Ltd and LUDICROUSLY pricey. You are paying Michelin prices for cafeteria food and service - I am not being overly dramatic with this description! Please do yourself a favor and stay away - book anywhere else in Mammoth. The problem is nobody actually cares here - to be a restaurant that is above average somebody has to care - the chef / the front of house team / the organization that owns it - somebody! Here at Whitebark nobody cares - least of all Westin who have decided to charge their customers exorbitant prices for incredibly poor food in an incredibly tatty restaurant- if I am paying $60+ for a steak with one side I expect a little more than a duct taped seat - sorry I just do!
