We were looking for a reasonably priced farm to table restaurant, and White Oak fit the bill. It wasn't crowded, so it was quiet and service was excellent. I especially enjoyed the gluten friendly fried calamari (the first time I've had fried calamari in over 5 years!). The chimichurri steak frites was excellent, as was the green tea lacquered salmon. I wouldn't hesitate to return next time I'm in Houston.
Chicken and waffle is a must!
The attention of our waitress was amazing!
The food was very yummy!! Edouardo went above and beyond to make this s fun experience!!!
It took over an hour for our food to come; Only 1 server working on the floor for several tables (waters didn't get refilled and we had to flag people down); food was so-so, and over-priced.
Great location for guest staying at Westin hotels in mall. Great help accommodating a large party of 14
I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend this place .If you go, don't let them put you in a booth. The booth benches are ridiculously low (or the tables are high). Either way, it was disproportionate and very uncomfortable. Also, although the menu listed my order as coming with sweet potato fries, it came to the table with regular fried potatoes. I ad to ask for (and wait for) the sweet potato fries.
They were closed!!!! Didn’t even call to tell us. We had a reservation for 17 people
I had lunch with my teenager who is very picky. We both enjoyed our meal
Great place for brunch on the weekends! Food is excellent and the service is fantastic!
Went there to order a menu item that was on open table menu but many of the items online are not on the menu at the restaurant. So I tried the salmon and it was very good.
Was there for a breakfast meeting, food was average, service was great , prices were a bit high (not unexpected given the venue location). Ambience was quiet but that is expected given there were only 3 other tables occupied.
chicken, macs and cheese, Cuban sandwich and beverages where very enjoyable.
Father’s Day brunch was fantastic!
Stemless wine glasses? WHY? Everyone who actually knows about wine knows how sensitive it is to even the slightest temperature change and that, body temperature warms the wine through the glass, which is why wine glasses were made with stems in the first place! I’m grateful that our server went out of his way to find a stemmed glass for me. At $18/glass, I’d like to maximize the taste, thank you.
Zucchini fries were fantastic as always. The cheese board was sparse. Calamari was just ok.
Good spot for our meeting (location was convenient, and the restaurant was quiet.) Service was top-notch.
Staff was friendly and accommodating, our server was very professional, polite, and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was exquisite! Will definitely be returning soon
Located in the galleria. We came for brunch. I enjoyed the migas. Service was a little slow even with a near empty restaurant. I'd consider going if in the area
Food was good but service was painfully slow, it was not overly busy considering it was Mother’s Day but took way too long. We sat long enough for a visit to the outside restroom before anyone approached the table to take a drinks order. By the time they did we had already decided on our food selection. The slow pace continued for the rest of our visit but overall staff were pleasant and food quality good
Get together with special friends in a nice spot
Our food took a long time to come out (over 45 mins). No one noticed until we complained and the excuse was that our order didn’t get to the chef. Clearly, the waiter covering our table should have noticed. The noise level was extremely high (maybe because it was Easter) and the place just didn’t feel organized (seats were dirty, etc).
Table wasn't ready when we got there. It took about an hour to order our food after repeatedly asking to do so. Food was about average. The restaurant was about half full. They also brought the wrong drinks to our table; our waiter even apologized when dropping them off saying they were made poorly, but I'm wondering why they were even brought out to begin with if the waiter didn't think they were done right. I could have had a better experience elsewhere for that kind of money. Not a horrible experience, but not good enough to go back either.
The restaurant has changed - and gone down the tubes. SO SAD!
Prices increased while selection shrunk . Portion size is smaller as well.
This is no longer one of our favorite spots to do a business meal.
Could not track down a waiter at any time, ours or any other tables. They would appear every 15-20 minutes with a drink refill, or to take an order. Food was decent, but could not make up for the inability to get a server to stop by the table. All wrapped up with another table's check after being told our iced teas (~$5 value) had been comped due to the slow service. Ended up paying the other tables bill instead since I knew I wouldn't see a waiter again for another 15-20 minutes.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Go for the Happy Hour.
Waiter was very attentive! My favorite dish was the shrimp and chicken pad Thai. I will definitely visit again!
Friendly staff excellent food!
We had high hopes, but right from the start we weren’t even greeted by our waiter for almost 10 minutes. We saw two other tables just walk out from not being helped.
The food was decent, but my side salad that was $5 upcharge was the decrepit romaine lettuce, a couple slices of tomato and a couple slices of carrots. I took one bite and stopped and the waiter didn’t even ask why I didn’t eat it/if I wanted something else.
He only checked on us once. The rest we had to flag down and even had to ask twice for just water! He was unfriendly and quite sad actually. He looked like he hated being there and it showed to his tables.
Food was delicious, but when it came time to check out, took a bit longer since we were on lunch hour from work. Definitely come back for the waffles and chicken.
I loved the place. I loved the atmosphere and the food.
The food is always amazing and the staff provides superior service. This is the perfect place for brunch, a glass of wine and especially fresh baked cookies!
I have eaten at White Oak Kitchen approximately 4-5 in the last 5+ years I have worked in the Galleria area. The food is decent, but the service has always been slow and lacking. This visit the hostess did not seem with it and it took her over 5 minutes to find some menus. The server took over 10 minutes to greet us. Plus, $4 for a glass of iced tea is insane and the most expensive I have seen yet. Not sure why restaurants think plain tea should be charged as much as a bar drink.
We'll be back for sure! Fried chicken was great.
The food was good, mostly brunch type food. The service is TERRIBLE. We had to ask for our server to do everything and they werent that busy.
Although the "farm to table" menu was very appealing when reviewing the menu prior to making a reservation, the farm freshness was very lacking. This is a hotel restaurant. The salmon bland and far from fresh. The veggies were previously frozen. Everything but the salmon was edible, but not as advertised. We were disappointed .
Whit oak kitchen is a good place for a business lunch. Not too noisy and the food is good and reasonably priced
The service was lacking. The food was lacking for the price. The ratings and comments in opentable were inconsistent with our experiences we won’t go back.
I Love having my girl out for lunch date, we loved our lunch - fresh and delicious, and as always loved the service.
Step above most mall choices. If you’re at the Galleria and you’d like to have a nice meal, WOK+D is a good choice. Somehow it’s connected to the Westin because you have to exit the restaurant to use the hotel’s common bathroom. We came for dinner, and the restroom looked like it had not been serviced since the morning shift. The kitchen tries with the food, but sometimes the attempts fall flat. Root vegetables that accompanied two plates were visually appealing, but lacked any flavor. Two chicken platters (fried and grilled with spinach, goat cheese and sundried tomatoes, were probably the best selections. We ordered the s’mores bread pudding dessert, and finally found luck there. There were several families with small children. Not sure if they were staying at the Westin and came down for dinner or were shopping after Christmas sales. If you’re looking for a non fast food meal and at the Galleria, this fits the bill.
We went for brunch in a group of 5 and were very pleasantly surprised! Almost everyone ordered something different and it was all delicious! French toast was great, but the chicken and waffles was amazing! Best chicken wings I’ve ever had, I wish they’d have the chicken wings as an entree option or on the dinner menu because they are amazing!
One of my top lunch spots when working in the Galleria area. I am yet to find a better Farm-to-Table restaurant with a good buffalo burger.
