White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant has potential. The food is creative, the portion size appropriate. However, both my husband and I found that the food was COLD. It was served on cold dishes and, if it was hot leaving the kitchen, it was NOT by the time it reached the table. We also found that the servers need training. One of them stopped by our table and asked how the meal was. I said in a non-critical voice, that it was fine. "What?" the server exclaimed, "It was not extraordinary?" This only made me ponder the deficiencies of the meal more. Several servers cleared plates at different points in the meal. Each time, rather than pick up a plate with the silverware on it, they pick up each pieces of silver ware, placed it in the other hand, and then picked up the plate. I have never seen this before. They need to learn to clear tables properly.
We've eaten here twice on 2 different business trips . The menu is updated southern , very creative dishes . Great space , eclectic mix of modern space with old fashion touches .
Nice selection of local beers and interesting cocktails. Great meal with friendly service .
Don't miss this place if your in Atlanta !
First experience was great and wanted to bring colleagues back to let them experience the food for a future business dinner. However, experience ended up being lack luster. Service was extremely slow, probably because of the group they had in-house. We were offered drinks once and was asked again but there was no follow through. Dishes were not as good as the first time I went. Needless to say this experience left me feeling that we will not return to host our client dinner there
This restaurant seems to be focusing on appearance at the expense of food and drink quality. Service was a little awkward and too formal for the setting. Food presentation was nice, but portions were small and expensive. My duck breast was quite dry, as if it had been sliced immediately after cooking and was not allowed to rest. Cocktails were underwhelming and not very well balanced.
Fantastic place. Good for all around dining or date night. We brought our pre-schoolers and had great reception from staff. Menu is limited for kids, however. But what kid can deny chicken and waffles.
I had the venison and my wife had the trout. Both meals were great! Next trip to Atlanta we will try this place again.
Thanks for he great service.
We have been here several times, to dine or enjoy a pre- or post-theater drink. We have never been disappointed. Food is solid with interesting options. Last night I made a meal out of several sides because I couldn’t decide on any single thing. Husband had the duck which he enjoyed. Service was attentive.
The food and wine were very good. The staff very helpful. The staff doesn't wait on specific tables though, and instead we were waited on by 6-7 different people. It got very confusing at times, but did give us the feeling of never being forgotten. Would absolutely recommend.
It was not the best and quite sub par. The manager on duty made up for the evening but not interest in returning. Most of the staff didn't seem knowledgeable of what the restaurant carried as far as liquor selection. And there was a significant amount of miscommunication. We had multiple servers and much of our order came out separate from one another. The menu is extremely limited but the lobster Mac and cheese and pork belly were good.
The menu is very limited offering only 6 entrees and 7 appetizers. I know it's southern, but several of the better options are deep fried and heavy (beignets, fried chicken, fried green tomatoes). The food was good but not great and definitely too heavy. The lemon tart dessert was great. Great service but the food is uninspired.
I have been to this restaurant for both lunch and dinner. Service, food, wine and cocktails are always very good. The noise level is higher at dinner than at lunch, so in terms of business meals, lunch is probably the better option or ask to be seated in an out of the way area.
I love the food and cocktails. I think some of what they do is overpriced for what it is, compared to other upscale places in town, but their menu is usually very different from other places and sometimes delightfully so. Everything I've had there has been quite good and some seasonal items I find myself showing up for just because they're in season. Bar and wait staff are top notch. It's worth it to make the reservation even if you're only doing it a few minutes in advance. Once the restaurant hits about half full, they sometimes impose wait times when nothing much seems to justify it.
We had a wonderful experience at White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails! The food was delicious, and the service was superb! The wait staff were knowledgeable and friendly, and they went the extra mile to make us feel at home. The restaurant had plenty of charm and character - perfect spot for a business dinner!
