This was our first experience at White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails. We had the pre fix Valentine’s Day 5 course meal with the wine pairing. The meal was delicious! The wines paired nicely with every dish. With some of the dishes, it my husband and I first experience with a particular ingredient. We were pleasantly delighted with how everything tasted. The service was pleasant and helpful with descriptions and questions we had about the meal and wines. We will definitely come back and dine with WOKC again.
The wait staff, food, and ownership was a breath of fresh air when it came to hospitality and great food! All the food represented a very good balance of taste and palette. A definite recommend and I will be back with a larger group!! Job well done! 👌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
Food was delicious like an upscale restaurant...prices were moderate to upscale as well. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is more casual - there's a big bar with lots of windows opening up on Peachtree downtown. Wait and bar staff are dressed in jeans, but are very friendly and helpful. The food is worth the price (and the mojitos were great too), but if you are looking for a place that is super formal, this is not it. It's more casual, but still fantastic.
We visited from Alabama and NY after being here 4 times prior I raved about the restaurant. The appetizers were great but the entrees, and cocktails were very below average. My friends were not impressed and I looked like a fool! Not sure what has happened. We had 3 servers which was very confusing and we were often left looking for someone to place our orders with.
While the wait staff was good I was very disappointed in my meal. I ordered the broiled oysters and one of them was soooo spoiled. I informed the waitress who promptly took it away but offered no replacement alternatives or apologies. A Restuarant of your caliber should have a better trained staff for accommodating situations like this.
Horrible. Horrible. Horrible on every dimension. Took 30 minutes to get 4 cocktails at the bar. Once seated, no waiter or waitress approached our table for 20mins. Once ordered, took 30+ minutes for salads to arrive. When we asked a server if we could talk to our waiter she asked “why?” And to top it all off, the food was almost inedible. Thankfully the portions are VERY small. Fish was dried out and crusty. Chicken and waffles tasted like they had some chemical poured over them instead of syrup. Worst dining experience all around in the past 10 years. If you want to try this place, go soon. I can’t imagine they’ll be in business much longer.
Should have known when we were able to get a reservation on New Year's Day that this wasn't going to be a great meal, but it was really poor. The service was absolutely terrible. We were asked about drinks when we first sat down and never again in the hour that we were there. Ordered the Charcuterie plate and you know your in trouble when the is twice as much bread and crackers on the plate as there is meat and cheese. Three small pieces of cheese that were dried out and two meat selections. After that and no one checking on us again, we decided to leave.
WOKC never disappoints!
Cindy and Alan LeBlanc have made it an Atlanta staple. WOKC elegantly delivers a quality dining experience no matter if it is a business lunch, romantic evening or a large event. The pre-fixe menu was one of the best that one could ask for anywhere in the USA. Thank you, to the WOKC staff for making the start of 2018 so special.
Looked at reviews & menu on yelp, liked what I saw on the menu & was only a couple blocks from our hotel. Nice place decent view but the food was way below par. We had the scallops for an appetizer, decent but nothing special, there were three on the plate for $24. I had the duck, maybe I’m missing something, I eat duck often, all over the U.S. this was bland, and just not good. Bok Choy was inedible. My wife had the rainbow trout, which she eats at many restaurants, she ate it all but again way below par. Based off the reviews I had high expectations, the services was good, but the food on a 1-10 was a 3 being generous. My wife & I eat out three to four times a week all over Florida, Georgia, NC. SC & TN. , hard to believe this is what White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails puts out as $20-$40 plate. One last thing, we set a reservation on Open Table, asked for a booth. When we arrived there was one couple in the entire restaurant other than my wife & I, we asked for a booth & the waiter said he wasn’t sure he could get us one, no joke. Again service was good but we wouldn’t ever go back or suggest to anyone.
Pleasantly surprised by the level of culinary prowess at this restaurant. Were just looking for a decent downtown dinner spot before walking over to the Tabernacle for a concert, and were very happy to find the White Oak! Will be back when we're in the downtown area.
This restaurant has potential. The food is creative, the portion size appropriate. However, both my husband and I found that the food was COLD. It was served on cold dishes and, if it was hot leaving the kitchen, it was NOT by the time it reached the table. We also found that the servers need training. One of them stopped by our table and asked how the meal was. I said in a non-critical voice, that it was fine. "What?" the server exclaimed, "It was not extraordinary?" This only made me ponder the deficiencies of the meal more. Several servers cleared plates at different points in the meal. Each time, rather than pick up a plate with the silverware on it, they pick up each pieces of silver ware, placed it in the other hand, and then picked up the plate. I have never seen this before. They need to learn to clear tables properly.
We've eaten here twice on 2 different business trips . The menu is updated southern , very creative dishes . Great space , eclectic mix of modern space with old fashion touches .
Nice selection of local beers and interesting cocktails. Great meal with friendly service .
Don't miss this place if your in Atlanta !
First experience was great and wanted to bring colleagues back to let them experience the food for a future business dinner. However, experience ended up being lack luster. Service was extremely slow, probably because of the group they had in-house. We were offered drinks once and was asked again but there was no follow through. Dishes were not as good as the first time I went. Needless to say this experience left me feeling that we will not return to host our client dinner there
