   I was excited to take my husband here on his birthday trip to Atlanta. I read the menu and was excited about the wild game—definitely up my husband’s alley. I also read reviews which rated it well. We went in wanting to like it. The ambience and decor were lovely. Our server, however, had a lackluster attitude in comparison. I have received better service at McDonald’s as far as a welcome. He didn’t offer to bring us drinks or tell us any specials or to recommend any dishes—it was an unenthusiastic “y’all know what you want?” We asked for water to drink and ordered two appetizers (venison tartare and octopus) which were delicious. My husband ordered a cocktail which came from the bar and was well crafted. When my husband asked how the rabbit was prepared our server rambled as if unsure: it’s rabbit, roasted or cooked in some way and then it comes with the sides on the menu—so he was not very knowledgeable about the food or menu. I ordered a glass of white wine which came out warm (well over room temperature) and swordfish “catch of the week” which came out as cod rather than swordfish and had about 20 large bones in the small (a bite for me and a bit for my husband to make sure I was tasting it correctly) two bites we took—so it was not prepared very well prior to cooking. I feel like this restaurant may have been great at one point, but, sadly, it is working its way to subpar and underwhelming.

   I went on Sunday just after noon for brunch. Had the Silver Dollar Pancakes with grits. The grits were a tad dry but tasty. The pancakes were delicious. I had a cappuccino with it. It was quiet despite a half full house. The service was fast, and my server kept checking in with me.

   Likely a restaurant that “feels better” at night. The space itself could use some work - starting to look worn out. This is definitely a $$$ (3 dollar sign) pricing. Food was delicious. We had a friendly and helpful waitress. The site says there’s valet parking and there isn’t and that leaves a really sketchy parking area next door as the best option.

   Second time there and the experience went from a solid 5-star to 2.5-3 star experience. The pork belly appetizer resembled two small pieces of thick bacon. Hardly enough to even get a taste experience. Not worth the cost. The main course of spare ribs was solid. Very good. The chocolate desert tasted like it came out of a can. Nothing exciting or rich. Not worth eating the calories for the substandard taste. Our waitress was absolutely not ready for prime time. She should have been shadowed by an experienced waiter. Made us feel nervous as she stumbled through the evening. Not her fault though as she said she was just getting us started as the (real) waiter would take over, but never did. Not a cheap price, for a mediocre experience. I recommended the place and felt like I left my group down. I won't make that mistake again. Too many other "better" restaurants to explore. You let me down.

   Disappointed that menu changes were not reflected which was a factor in choosing this location. No bread options were a surprise and no alternatives were available. This location seems to be limited in service options.

   First time eating at White Oak Kitchen. Had cocktails at the bar first, was a little disappointing as the bartender wasn't sure about the beer selection but I do believe she was trying to wrap things up as there was a shift change. But over all, there was not problem. My cocktail was very good. Our waiter, Cole (I believe) was great! He advised of the new menu items and made some great suggestions. The scallops appetizer was amazing!! My halibut was very good and the over all menu was enjoyed by both attendees. For there to be a convention in the area and the restaurant/bar to be busy, the over all noise level was great!! We were able to have conversations without having to yell or struggle to hear. Looking forward to coming back.

    Very interesting location and nice inside but they didn't have an appetizer or (2) entrée options I requested on a small menu - I prefer to a small menu but to then not have 3 items during a time period that included Hawks, Taylor Swift, Janet Jackson and a large insurance conference tells me that they simply weren't prepared properly.

    Good food, nice atmosphere just painfully slow and out of a lot of menu items on a joy very big menu. 45 minutes after ordering, before appetizers even came out we were told that 2 entree selections were not available, drinks weren’t available. I get that the world is short staffed and food costs are high, but serving 12 people with a reservation mid week should have been a little easier.

    Service was extremely slow. Place did not appear very busy at all. Worst of all they were out of many items. No dinner rolls and only 1 beer on tap? No passion fruit juice. Disappointing experience especially for the price. Would definitely pass on this one.

    Interesting menu done very well. Everything we ordered was delicious! It was very noisy, which was the only issue. Otherwise, everything was GREAT!!! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

    It was the worst experience we have ever had. The menu was terrible. It was over priced and very small portions, and very little to choose from. The service was extremely lacking and she was very absent. She disappeared several times, never asked how things tasted. She never wrote our order down, and if you do not write it down, you can’t remember. If you have the talent of remembering your tables orders, then not writing it down is impressive. This however went south quickly. The food was very blasé . The Chef also had an ego, as we were told how we would eat “his” Wagyu beef dish. The portions were very slim, with no sides. The French Toast was smaller than a hash brown at the Waffle House with no sides. The shrimp in the Shrimp and Grits was undercooked, but we had already had corrected her so much, and she disappeared that it was too late to say anything. The only thing that was good was my company. I made the reservations, and was rather embarrassed of how things went. The bill was $300+ and I would have much preferred to have spent my Easter lunch at the Waffle House. Portions would have been better, and I know the service would have been better as well, and not to mention the prices. If I go to a fine dining establishment, I expect to pay a lot, but, unfortunately, was severely let down. Time to close the doors. We eat out a lot in Atlanta, and this was a very unfortunate meal. I should have clued in when at 1:00 pm, it was desolate. That’s the peak hour for lunch. Which, also should have meant prime service.

    3 old friends met to catch up...never before have we met in the downtown area. We all enjoyed everything about White Oak! I will say that a $25 parking fee at a nearby public lot came as quite a surprise! I'll be back to visit though!

    Excellent dinner, the food is absolutely worth it. If you cannot make it to Sundial or stuck with Hard Rock, give this place a try. A couple highlights are a dedicated wine list in addition to an excellent selection of Whiskey!

    From the moment you step inside, WOKC does an outstanding job welcoming you in. This was our first time dining here, but we were made to feel like regulars. I highly recommend the hummus appetizer. I think it would be hard to go wrong with anything on the menu, though. Even though the menu is full of Southern comfort food that we are familiar with, the chef makes each one special.
