White Chocolate Grill - Naperville Ratings and Reviews
We had our son and his new wife in town and we wanted a special dinner. It was delicious! The service was fantastic as well. We had a reservation - but the table reserved for us was not ready - as the previous party had not yet left. The place was super busy. They offered us another table - but we deicded to wait for the larger table. We only waited an extra 15 minutes - and the manager comped us the desserts and appetizers for our trouble! That was $40 off our bill. We will definitely go back! Definitely worth the $$$!
I like the ambience and the modern design of the interior of the WCG. Very good food, good service and a very diverse menu. The Miami Beach Shrimp Salad is an excellent combination of salad, fruit and shrimp. My wife likes the pretzel style rolls and she always saves room for dessert. Only negatives are excessive noise, a touch expensive and always seems crowded which irritates me.
Food was very good, slight problem with so many different servers helping. No one stops by at the end of desert to see if we need a to go box. I realize they want to get the food served as quickly as possible, but then you have to keep asking different people to make sure order is correct. Our order for 4 people had 2 errors.
WCG is one of our favorites. We went for lunch and it wasn't very crowded but it seemed like the service was a bit slow. We ordered appetizers which were good. We ordered a salad and our meals, both of which were sandwiches. The food was great, but the salad came out and shortly after the sandwiches came out so then they got cold. However the food was still good, the waitress could have been a bit more attentive with refills or checking in on us. Still one of our favorites.
Went for lunch on Veterans Day, ordered the grilled chicken and my friend ordered Memphis pulled pork. The food and service were great. I inquired if they were doing anything and the waiter replied no. I ordered dessert (White Chocolate Banana Cream Pie) which was the best I’ve had. When the bill came the waiter informed me the manager said “dessert is on the house in honor of your military service”. Can’t wait to go back!
One of our favorite restaurants but this trip we were disappointed! My husband usually orders the prime rib or the shaved prime rib sandwich and they were out of prime rib!! So he ordered the turkey sandwich at the suggestion of our server and he was disappointed because they turkey sandwich was very dry and he needed to keep adding mayonnaise!
When we arrived at the time of our reservation, they apologized and told us they were running a little behind. We had to wait 10 minutes before we were seated. We didn't have a problem with that. The server immediately arrived to take our drink order. A couple minutes later the manager arrived to apologize in person for the 10 minute wait and told us we could have any appetizer on him. We ordered the egg roles which were great. The service was quick throughout the meal. I had the Sea Bass topped with crab meat which I enjoyed. My wife had the crab cakes which she liked. We finished with the White Chocolate Blondie Brownie which was also tasty. We will go back.
I chose White Chocolate Grill for a few reasons. We were going to the MAC theatre for a concert and this place was reasonable getting over to Glen Ellyn. Second I've had a good experience in the past and I like the choices. Our waitress was great and attentive. Service was great. My husband's order was not the right one and they went out of their way to try and make it right.
The mix up was due to two things on the menu that began with roasted chicken. An easy mix up. His meal was comped and really not necessary plus a coupon for next time. Manager was great. From Iowa just like us. We really enjoyed ourselves.
Unfortunately we did not have a very good experience at WCG this time. We had reservations and still had to wait 20 minutes to get a table. Our server although extremely friendly and helpful was also extremely slow and disappeared for very long periods of time. Our appetizers, shrimp cocktail and tuna were very good. The tuna was actually very tasty. The meal on the other hand was a major disappointment. I had salmon which was over-cooked and dry, my husband ordered the rib-eye cooked medium. What arrived on his plate looked like a flat piece of steak that had been cooked for 20 minutes too long over low heat. It was not seared, there was no juice and it was well done. Since our server was off somewhere doing god knows what I was finished with my meal by the time he came back to see if everything was ok. My husband sent his meal back - we then had to wait for it to be re-made and then he ate his correctly cooked steak all by himself! What a romantic way to celebrate our anniversary. We did order dessert. The blondie brownie. That was not cooked all the way through. The middle of the brownie was raw and inedible. Sadly I am not sure if we will ever return to this restaurant is was such a disappointment.
We ate at this restaurant for dinner tonight (Saturday, November 4, 2017) having never eaten here for dinner before, although I have eaten here a few times for lunch. The food was average at best, horribly noisy, but worst of all, the waiter complained about his tip! Never in my 60+ years on this planet have I had the server question the tip we gave him or her! I coughed up another $20 bill and he asked if I wanted change! We had split the check with another couple and figured in a tip and gave the waiter cash but apparently, it was unacceptable.
A few days after learning of my displeasure with the tip issue, Bryan, the in charge manager, discussed this issue directly with me and advised me such behavior by a waiter was unacceptable and was being addressed directly with the waiter. Based on good lunches here before, we will give Bryan and his staff another chance. Bryan provided me incentives to return and a portion of such incentives will benefit the annual red kettle drive by the Salvation Army.
Started off a bit rocky, we were seated in the same room as a party of 35 and another large party, so I knew that wouldn't be a good thing. They moved us into the main dining room, where it was a bit cramped for 8, but at least we weren't with the loud group in the other room. The food was OUTSTANDING. I ordered the WGC salad, along with the fish of the day. I can't tell you how delicious it was. It was a 12 on the scale of 10. We then ordered a bread pudding and a white chocolate brownie to share at the table. The brownie was good, but the bread pudding was OUTSTANDING. I totally enjoyed my food at this restaurant. Service was okay, he was pleasant, but not overly so, and we had to ask for bread for the table. I definitely would visit this restaurant again.
Our waiter was very attentive, and the food was really good. After dinner, we went to the bar to free up our table, but there was no one waiting. It seemed like the restaurant closed about 10. I may be wrong, but there was almost no one in the place about 9:15 at nite.
