White Chocolate Grill - Naperville Ratings and Reviews
I have had dinner at your restaurant several tines and always enjoyed the trout. Sunday it did not taste as good as I remembered, I had a bad after taste while I was driving home and arriving home I had an upset stomach. I will come back again and hope for better trout next time.
The food was great. However, we had a 5:45pm reservation, and were not seated until about 6:05pm.
We had a two hour window while our son was at a birthday party near by, so losing those 20 minutes was disappointing. Service was ok, but could have been more attentive. It was just the 2 of us and we did not expect the delay with such an early reservation. We were celebrating our anniversary, and mentioned it in the OpenTable reservation, but no one mentioned it at all.
I made a reservation for Thursday at 11:00. When my Mom and I entered, the place was empty. Lighting is low with ceiling lights on each individual table . It was easy to read the menu and see the food.
By 11:30, the restaurant was packed with, I presume, primarily business people. The nice quiet lunch we had anticipated turned into an uncomfortably loud experience. Wait staff was excellent. They answered all my questions and were very attentive.
We both ordered the crab cakes on the recommendation of others on open table and the waiter. The portion was perfect, two crab cakes each. They were a bit mushy but tasty. Having eaten crab cakes in Seattle and on the East Coast, these were very good, but not as good as those at restaurants on the coast. I would say, they are the best I have eaten in the area. But I would not order them again. I think I have been spoiled.
The brussels sprouts were an amazingly delicious surprise. They were prepared as a cold salad with dried cranberries, cheese, almonds and the restaurants's home made lemon dressing. The sprouts were cored, blanched and chilled before the salad was prepared. I would definitely return for that salad. I don't know if they serve it as a luncheon meal, but it's work asking. Excellent!!
Before we finished our meal, the server put the tab on the table with the dessert menu. I was a bit surprised by this, but given that it was a weekday lunch, I suppose there are people on their lunchbreak looking to make the meal quick to return to the office. Since we were not business people and wanted to have a leisurely lunch, we felt a but rushed. After ordering dessert, we were presented with an updated bill.
Chocolate Soufflée cake served with creme fraise and whipped cream was heavenly, very rich and delicious. We took most of it home with us because the meal was filled us up and we wanted to enjoy the dessert without stuffing ourselves.
A lovely meal, but too loud for our liking.
Had Tuna app, Artichoke, Chicken Crepes, and Roasted Chicken. All fabulous choices! Flavorful and reasonable portions. Presentation nice! Need to work on how to properly steam broccoli though. You cannot serve wilted veggies. Lunch on a Saturday. Greeted by Hostess, service was polite but not polished - room for improvement. Fine for lunch crowd but wouldn't be acceptable for dinner expectations at this price point. Overall, nice experience, would return.
Drinks were good and very reasonable, although it was a Thursday night. Portions were really good for the cost of the entree. They followed my allergen restrictions very well too! The waiter was very attentive and even came back with two chilled martini glasses and poured our martinis into the chilled glasses for us, as we still had a half martini left! I've never had anyone do that for us. We will definitely come back!
I was very disappointed when I treated my friend to dinner there on the 28th. We were celebrating his birthday. Nothing was even said or done by your staff, knowing that I had informed them of this celebration that evening. Our reservation was for 6:15 and you had absolutely no prime rib. You have the best prime rib in the area and that was the reason why we wanted to go to your place. I don’t understand how you could run out of prime rib when you start selling it at 4:00 and we were there at 6:15. I also think that a birthday dessert would be in order for people celebrating something special. I ended up having a filet which was very spicy on the outside and I hardly ate any of it. We eat at your establishment at least once a month. I was very disappointed!!
Our server was excellent. We had a reservation and were seated about 10 min after due to a table that paid however stuck around for quite a while. They sat our party of 6 at s table for 5 but it worked out ok because we had several kids with us.
The one negative is always the wait. Whether I have a reservation or not there is always such a long wait and no availabilities fir reservations at preferred times. Also it is difficult to make a reservation for more then 4 people.
