   We came here tonight to celebrate, we got married on Friday. We are in the hospitality industry… for many years. There are some positives & negatives with this experience. Firstly, for the amount of money you’re spending for the prefixed menu and service should be prompt and on point. I had to ask for more water… which everyone in the industry knows, that is something that should always be full, your water glass. Also, the attendant asked if we wanted another slice of bread… I had to ask 10 minutes later where the bread was. The food, very small portions. The food, not hot. Lukewarm. I will say the Halibut dish was delicious, as well as the lobster tagliatelle. There were 4 other tables in the restaurant, so I feel that the service was lacking. One table of guests were very noisy… and for those prices… it should not be that loud. We just finished our wedding and we’re looking to relax, unwind and quietly celebrate. The duck was gamey, and the sauce was lacking flavor. Our server was very sweet, but honestly, I don’t think I’d recommend this place to have a phenomenal experience. It was just alright.

   The duck main dish was thick and tough. But they replaced it with lobster and deducted it from our tab. The service is incredible!! An interesting selection of foods.

   We enjoyed a perfect meal at the White Barn Inn for my husband’s birthday. We ordered entirely different items so we could make the tasting experience even more magical. Our starters included the tomato tar-tar and the cream brûlée foie gras. Both were absolutely visionary. Carefully imagined and perfectly executed. Second course included oysters and the mini lobster roll with caviar. Again, both exceptional. He had the lobster ragout and I had the halibut. The halibut melted in my mouth. Perfect flaky preparation with a sauce that was a spoonful of perfection. The lobster was innovative, delicious and rather complex. Combining pasta, ricotta, tomatoes, fennel and lobster with many additional spices made the perfect taste bud delight. Our desserts , chocolate tarts and soufflé did not disappoint. We were guided through this experience by Ryan who was friendly, professional and provided exceptional service and conversation. We enjoyed the meal over two hours which was the perfect pace for a fine dining experience. We felt the love of the meal from the entire staff. This was an experience we will never forget. Thank you White Barn family for believing in good old fashioned hospitality and friendliness. We are staying at the Inn and have been impressed from the moment that we drove up with the genuine care that we have been extended as guests. We offer our heartfelt gratitude ❤️❤️❤️

    We loved it as always. The only course I didn’t like was my entree which was lobster but with too many sauces. I also would have like wine pairings.

    The food was mostly excellent, but I would not rate it as better than any other fine dining establishment. I had the Kennebunkport lobster, but it could have been from the Caribbean because it was only the tail. The meat was tough and chewy, as the tails always are, but I had thought maybe the chef knew some secret. Where are the good parts - the claws? If I order lobster in Maine, I expect a whole lobster. The service was excellent and friendly - far above what we have found elsewhere. The ambiance and noise level were fine. Everyone should eat here once, just for the experience and the service, but the cost is breathtakingly high. This is a fine restaurant but the cost is not justified.

    I have not been here in years and used to love it. It was so disappointing. The food was all bad. The chef used flavors that do not go together, lobster with fennel and tomato sauce is one example, coconut carrot Brussel sprout soup is another. My husbands food was cold and he left hungry. Go to Earth instead, half the price and amazingly good compared to this. Service was good and ambience is always nice but those were the only positives of a very pricey night.

    We had a lovely anniversary dinner. I had surgery on my foot recently and was using a knee scooter. They were very accommodating and the food was delicious, but a bit pricey.

    Awesome — as always. Prix Fixe dinner heavy on fish (although I had pheasant, while my date had the Halibut). She had the Caviar supplement and the entire meal was accompanied by a 2018 Oliver Lafliave which was drinking quite well. Not an everyday meal, as it was certainly pricy, but the value and presentation made it an exceptional event - particularly after a magical snowstorm left the trees in Kennebunkport flocked.

    Been coming for over a decade. While the dress code has been relaxed a bit… the attention and food is still top. New chef has been great. If the Tomatoe tartar is in the offering, go for it, maybe ask for seconds. The lobster tagliatelle is also excellent.

    It was literally some of the best food I’ve ever had. The main course fish was stunningly good, in particular. The service was similarly exceptional. Like the food, among the best ever. Our waiter knew every detail about the menu, and the rest of the staff was similarly well-informed. If you were to need anything I am sure a raised index finger would cause one of the staff to shimmer into existence next to your table within seconds. Although we didn’t test that theory, I have never seen such a profusion of staff. On top of that, a talented pianist added a perfect musical aspect, always present and enjoyable but never obtrusive. Know, though, that being treated like royalty comes at a substantial cost. Do ask about that aspect of the thing. We regard it as an exceptional, one-off experience. We’re glad we went, but if we return it will be several years from now. Ah, but such a memory to have. I would recommend it, but with a caveat about the price.

    We went to white barn for Sunday brunch. Despite there being no one in the restaurant, we were sat against a wall that had noise coming from it like there was machinery behind it. The waitress did not bring us a beverage menu and then asked what food we were ordering. I had to ask if we could order drinks. She gave us a beverage menu that didn’t include tea. I asked her what yea they had and was asked what I like as opposed to getting a list. I know they also offer afternoon tea so I’m sure there’s an extensive menu but I was left guessing. We have dietary restrictions that I called about ahead of time. our restrictions seemed to be a surprise. We were provided two options and the warm vegetable salad was delicious. However we usually get accommodated with more than two menu item options at upscale restaurants if we call ahead. Our meals were good, not spectacular. We were mostly shocked by the poor service given its reputation, cost and its claims.

    I was disappointed. This was a very expensive 3 course meal and I expected excellent food. My lobster appetizer was very good. My main course of Beef Wellington was only fair and my dessert of chocolate moose log was too sugary. My friend thought her main course of lobster was very good and her ginger dessert was very good.

    Despite making my Christmas Day reservations the first day they opened, we were seated in the Little Barn; when I inquired, the hostess said the seat assignments were “random.” I would. or have made the reservation had i known- i can sit in the Little Barn anytime.

    After 3 years not seeing each other, there were six friends gathered and we had a magical time! The staff was excellent from the responsiveness in reserving our table to the warm greeting and attentiveness as we enjoyed our adult beverages and the delightful courses! Care goes into every step and we had time to enjoy each and every morsel of the brilliantly crafted flavor explosions in each and every dish!     Great food, wine, service. Great piano music and decorations. The valet brought up our car after dinner with the seat heater and heat on full. Nice touch. The hotel manager gave us a little tour while waiting for our car.
