Whispers Ratings and Reviews
Had another wonderful dinner at Whispers. I normally avoid Resturant’s on Valentines Day but was confident that they would be on their game. Only change was the price fix menu. Had the tuna appetizer and it was phenomenal followed by the rack of lamb. The lamb was cooked perfectly, followed by a pecan tart that was also great, Great venue for that special night.... or just looking for a quality meal with a great staff.
Was looking for a Valentine's Day meal with the wife and it did not disappoint. Arugula Salad was divine with Walnuts, Pear, and an amazing dressing, although I left out the beets. Followed with a Filet Mignon that was cooked perfectly and was buttery textured. Waiter was funny and low key. I did not realize it was a BYOB, but the owner who checked us in called the liquor store who ran us over a bottle 10 minutes later. A quiet Tuesday night so only half full, but it was nice to be able to hear ourselves talk for a change... Lovely old Spring Lake mansion repurposed into a cozy restaurant.
have eaten here many times but never again, service was slow, portions were skimpy, lobster special was a 1 1/2 pond lobster, unlikely based on portions and claw size, overall bad experience and costly, don't mind spending the money but hate getting ripped off
Our evening was wonderful in every way. Nick and the staff are excellent and truly made our experience enjoyable and memorable after I mistakenly had made our reservation for the following Saturday, but thinking it was this on. We had driven from our current home 2.5 hours away, and we were staying in a local hotel to celebrate a special birthday at one of our favorite restaurants when we lived in the area. When I discovered the mistake early that evening and contacted the restaurant Nick was kind enough to accommodate us at the same time that evening. The menu has new items and there were a lot of appealing specials. The service was well paced and the food fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was comfortable and well suited to a long quiet dinner. The trip was well worth it!
Another fabulous meal at Whispers! The very best server, Layla, always makes our experience more special. The lobster crepe appetizer is to die for. Amazing. Next time, I just want to order 3 of them as my meal! I had the scallop special and it was great. Husband had the grilled shrimp and pasta and it was amazing. Wish we had room for dessert! One of our very favorite places to dine! Wish it wasn't 45 minutes away! But, worth the ride! A++++
Nice atmosphere. Good service. Solid food, but nothing memorable. We shared buratta app and a Dali’s. My partner enjoyed her filet. I️ had the lobster special signature meal. Less than the described deshelled 1.5 lb. lobster (missing one of the claws) over a crab cake on top of spinach. Spinach was best part. Sat in a taco shell on top of a bed of mashed potatoes. Did not get the combination. The waiters ended up teaming and we recovering from a mid meal missing waiter lapse. All around, it was pleasant, just nothing memorable, especially for the price.
This was our first time dining at Whispers. The waitress, Maria, was very knowledgeable about the menu selections. We found the scallop appetizer quite pricey. The salads and entrees were superb. Being a BYOB establishment helps to make a somewhat expensive meal palatable .
We are never disappointed when we go to Whispers. Everything is outstanding! Our daughter is a very picky eater, but she will try anything at this restaurant. The melding of the flavors is unbelievable. Of course, having the best waiter of all time, was are real plus. Our request for bread pudding was the icing on the cake. Thank you.
The food was outstanding, the service was a bit slow at times, especially considering we were at the first seating of the evening. The noise level was much too loud to enjoy a romantic dinner. I had mentioned in the reservation that it was our anniversary, and all that they did was put a candle on the dessert we paid for and a cursory Happy Anniversary. As a restaurant, they were great, but for a special occasion, not so much.
We had a lovely birthday celebration dinner with our daughters and their spouses. This was our first time at Whispers. We had read online reviews and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent. Our server was very attentive and professional. We were seated in a smaller dining room which was quiet and well appointed. Definitely will recommend it to others.
We had an outstanding meal at Whispers. This is our third time visiting this restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was not what we have seen there in the past. There were two servers working as a team tending to ten tables. There was no one serving water, and we weren’t asked how our meal was until it was over. Both servers were very pleasant, but it was simply just too much for two people.
Pros -- fresh ingredients, excellent food prep. Great waiter -- timed meal well, did all the little things that only true pros know but veteran diners appreciate. BYO. Have not had a better meal anywhere.
Cons -- tables are tight, making for fairly high noise level and difficult navigating between. Also, as has become the custom in too many places, menu had 1/2 dozen specials recited beforehand without pricing. Would prefer restaurants just print out a little cheat sheet to review. How often do you have to ask a waiter or fellow diner, "what was that second special again?" A tad high on pricing vs. the market.
