A genuinely excellent evening all around! Amazing food, exceptional service and a very pleasant atmosphere. Thx!
All three courses exceptional!
I felt like we were getting personal treatment as our waitress was outstanding & didn't rush use through our meal courses as is done in most restaurants to have patron turnover for each table. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Wonderful dining experience, great service and the dinners were exceptional. Highly recommended
One of my favorite restaurants. Prices have gone up as they have everywhere. Last night was the first meal misstep we've experienced as they overcooked my medium rare filet. I received an apology and it was replaced. Service was excellent and the ambiance is lovely.
The lobster specialty dish was excellent. Pricey but the quality doesn’t disappoint.
Great restaurant with a quiet, local, “home town” feel.
Everything was wonderful - On time - not rushed. Can't wait to go again.
We have been going to Whispers for years and always enjoy it. Last night we met up with our cousins there for a delicious meal. My only complaint is that the food could have been hotter and prices have gone up pretty high!
Otherwise service was great and I was happy we were not rushed!
Excellent food and service. This is a hidden gem and highly recommended.
Tables were just to close.. to one another & made it very loud..
Special occasions deserve to be celebrated at Whispers! The food was delicious and service great. Lamb chops cooked to perfection. Lobster crepe with truffle oil amazing. Desserts decadent. Perfect!
The staff were outstanding! The lobster was raw. We took it to go to cook at home.
We returned this year for our wedding anniversary. Last year we we're able to sit on the porch on a beautiful fall evening. Everything was acceptable last year. We decided to go back and what a difference. Our waitress was pleasant but seemed to not care about our needs. Checked on us maybe twice. BYOB is okay but why wouldn't your waitress refill your empty glass...strange...had to do ourselves. We noticed that prices had gone up approximately $5 per plate. When you get 4 shrimp with pasta for $48 that is a total ripoff...we will not be returning as this place is very over priced and you can go to other restaurants and get just as good if not better for alot less and better service
If you’re in the mood for unique upscale food, this is the place. The lobster crepe was wonderful! Everyone at the table loved their meals.
Loved every minute of our evening. Great table great service great food :)
Beautiful experience. Simply delicious and the service is impeccable. Ask for Jen. Can't wait to go back.
Whispers…Extremely disappointing! This was our 2nd visit to Whispers as I like to give a second chance especially when there’s so many glowing reviews. I ordered the Grilled Shrimp ($48) one of the entrees recommendation by the waitress. First, the shrimp was off… tasting either previously frozen or on the bad side. The pasta was mushy and tasteless. Please note that the waitress did offer to bring me another dish but since my husband was almost finished with his, I passed. Leaving my plate full, I was surprised they didn’t comp the price. For a high end restaurant, the chef and the manager totally ignored the complaint. I recommend you try someplace else. 🍷
Excellent food , beautiful setting, easy close parking, friendly, courteous and professional staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there and will definitely go back again.
My wife simply LOVED the entire experience! Isn't that what it is all about? The experience? The server was perfect. The food was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and romantic. Francis Albert Sinatra on the soundtrack....guys, it WAS perfect!
Everything was well done as always. Brandy did a good job as waitress.
Delicious food and service
It’s our go to place for special occasions. Food is always excellent.
A great high end restaurant in Spring Lake NJ-The Irish Riviera. Not cheap but an excellent dinner with friendly professional service. Both servers were delightful and there was no rush. It is the end of the summer season and a Wednesday night so not a packed house. BYOB makes it even better. Tasty food from the chef.
$51.00 for (3) lamb chops is borderline obnoxious. Correction, is obnoxious.
A friendly, professional waitstaff and the food was fabulous. Excellent atmosphere and service was well paced. We did not feel rush and were able to dine.
The dinner was excellent: rack of lamb, done perfectly, altho my husband was surprised the kitchen couldn’t supply a touch of mint jelly.
They were shirt staffed. They did not recognize our Anniversary that i noted on the reservation. Otherwise it was excellent.
My wife and I go to Whispers for special occasions like our anniversary or Valentine's Day. The food is always good and the service is excellent.
Very nice restaurant - just high noise level making it difficult to hear
Completely over priced and over rated.
They tossed out a tiny rock hard dried out bun as a bread service when we first sat down, which literally tasted cardboard. We moved on to an
Arugula salad that looked like it was picked out of garbage can and thrown on a plate $18.
Tomato salad which was also a wreck served warm ughhh $19.
The chefs specialty a shrimp and pasta dish was a disaster it looked they literally took garage and a few shrimp and put it on plate with pesto …so bad!! $48!!
Strip steak Lou set price of over cooked meat $49.
The only saving grace was it it was byob so we got out of there for a mere $160!!
Anybody who says this is a good restaurant really needs to rethink what they’re idea of good food .
There are so many other options.
I only went there out of guilt after having had made the reservation. I write this review as a warning so that others don’t make the same mistake I did.
Very noisy. Pricey for food quality. Crab cakes were mushy. I expected more lump crab and received more pasty inside and not very crisp on outside. Fish special was overdone and close to dry.
Always a pleasurable experience at Whispers. It’s been one of our favorites for many years.
Requested a quiet table; was placed very close to a table of ten - loud. On the other close side was a loud table of four. Waitress couldn’t even fit between tables to serve properly.
Lobster appetizer was so so; salads were good and main course looked pretty but the lobster was over cooked and bland. Would not go back since prices are high.
Whispers has been our "go to" restaurant for any celebration for more than 10 years. This is the second time dinning at Whispers since it re-opened. Sad to say, it is not the same Whispers. The level of service is not up to past standards. I realize it is difficult to get help, but the service in the past was one of the outstanding features of the experience. The offering of a amuse-bouche has stopped. This was another of Whispers "special" aspect of dinning. The food, which has increased greatly in price, has lost its flare. My pork chop was over cooked and my wife's vegetables were VERY undercooked. The bread, which was once a warm amazing feature has been replaced with "pop and serve" biscuits. Sad. It is still a good restaurant, but it is no longer great!
Great place. Best high end restaurant at the Jersey shore.
We sat in the smaller room, not main dining room and it was perfect.
Terrible service with catering hall food. Loud room and disengaged servers. Uber overpriced for an average dining experience. Try Larimar where service and food are superb and priced properly. Very disappointing evening!!
One of the best meals my wife and I have had this year. I had the filet mignon, she had lobster. Nice location and setting. This is a BYOB. Varied menue, a bit expensive but worth every cent.
Too crowded and to loud
