Tuesday night, the three of us were the only people in the restaurant! Food excellent. No bartender could not order a cocktail before dinner. I am assuming this experience was a one off.

I loved the location, the ambiance, the quiet, intimate dining. Natalie was outstanding. The grounds were neat to walk on, the Koi Pond was very cool with the blooming lily pads and LOTS of fish! I would have enjoyed this more if it had not been so pricey. The only update they've done to their menu is the price. My husband ordered the Ribeye ($64). It came out looking more like pot roast, with brown gravy on top. He was very disappointed. I had the salmon which came with scalloped potatos and seasonal vegetables and I thought it was very good, but again, the price did not reflect the quality of food. The homemade rolls and butter were outstanding. The flourless chocolate cake, to me, was more like fudge, and while I did not care for it, my husband did like it. The bottom line is the price. I have been to many fine dining restaurants and have no problem paying for gourmet meals. This meal did not feel or taste gourmet to me. Compared to Benvenutis, whose Filetto Rosso is also $62, this restaurant falls short. I would pay Benvenutis all day long for their filet versus the 14 oz ribeye at Whispering Pines. While I would love to give this place our business, we probably will not go back unless the menu goes through an overhaul.

Probably the most intimate setting for an elegant dinner you can find in the OKC Metro area, just south of Norman, it is in a beautiful setting that takes you away from the bustle and the sounds of the city.

Short staffed the night we were there, however she did the best she could. Food was good. The soup was outstanding. Quiet enough to be able to hear others across our table, so it was a nice change from a loud restaurant.

If you want a quiet dinner in a beautiful setting, then this is the place for you. The food was very good, but expensive; however the service was excellent and we were well cared for throughout dinner. We plan to return and sit outside to take in the beautiful setting.

Fantastic as always. Newly remodeled with a new look on the inside + a much larger lounge area, this is a hidden gem. Salmon app is always delicious, don’t skip the soups, and the entree selection is tried and true making for a consistent, delicious result every time. Ask about daily specials. For the weirdos that I see giving this place 3 stars because of service - stop going out once a year on New Year’s Eve or Valentine’s Day only, expecting a flawless experience. Restaurants live and die by these reviews and you having to tolerate your significant other for longer than you feel is necessary while you await your no doubt fantastic meal is no reason to ding them on a review. You don’t go to an Irish pub on St. Patrick’s day and then give a bad review because you had to wait in line for your green Bud Light, do you?

We booked a reservation at Whispering Pines for New Year’s Eve for their $125 per person fixed dinner. We have experienced outstanding service and ambience in the past and expected the same. We were greatly disappointed! The food was excellent, but the two people who were attempting to serve were absolutely overwhelmed. They were doing their best, but this is a management issue. If adequate staffing was not available, they should not have accepted as many reservations as they did. We actually cleared our own tables because they didn’t have time to provide that service. It certainly was not worth the $350 that we spent!

Wonderful food!!! The service just needs to get back to a 5 star service. They are a 5 star restaurant, and just need to know what services comes with that. Like pour at least the first glass of wine for you and not just sit it on the table, especially when it is a very expensive wine. Only put a 18 percent tip on and that was a big mistake. We always leave 25 percent. We did add it on but some people may not and go at least 20 percent. If you eat there you probably are a good tipper. Still love the food and place!!!

This is a hidden gem in Norman. Came from CT for parents weekend at OU, and everything was amazing. Just like a New England Inn. From the twinkling lights on the trees that line the driveway, to the amazing food and service. This was such a great find, sad I didn't find it sooner, since my son is graduating this Spring

Wait person was very personable. We were only diners on a Thursday at 6. My KC strip was wonderfully tender but too salty. Vegetables were good, crisp and bright. My date’s salmon was excellent I was told. Deserts were great.

We chose to eat outside which was serene and peaceful. Family owned and Dawn the owner and prior ICU nurse took care of us. She was sweet and we had an excellent meal with attentive service

Let me start by saying that the food was pretty good. This isn't so much a review of the food as it is a review of... I don't know... principle? I came to OpenTable looking for something new for V-Day. I found this place and decided to give it a try to have something different. We usually go to Ranch for special occasions. I booked the restaurant and we looked at the menu to determine what we wanted days before. We had planned to spend about $150 with tip. Well, we get there and find out the menu is prix fixe for the night. I think prix fixe menu's and prices are probably the biggest scams in the restaurant business and the one other time this has happened to us in NYC we got up and left... only this time it was V-Day and this place is so far out in the boondocks I don't even know if we could have gotten into Buffalo Wild Wings down the street. So, unfortunately, we stayed. Prix fixe menus usually limit it down to one or two main options but that wasn't the case here and why I think this was just a sham to get more money out of your patrons. You got to pick your main course from the same menu... only now you also have to take a lobster bisque, salad, and dessert that you don't want on top of it. And now instead of spending $52 dollars each for a filet and rack of lamb, we are forced to spend $95 dollars each for the food we didn't want. We tried each thing but it wasn't very good... let me take that back... I'm not a "foodie" so it was probably good if you like these other items but I didn't care for any of them. Even the desert... The Tiramisu was good, but why in the world did you not have a chocolate option on V-Day? You bring out two deserts and not one of them chocolate? So long story longer... We ended up spending $250 dollars instead of $150 for stuff we didn't want or eat just so they could take advantage of patrons on a day they knew they could get away with it. Needless to say, this put a bad taste in our mouth and we won't be going back.

I booked a table for Valentines weekend on Saturday night. Make sure you do not drive a sports car as there is construction on the hiway in front of the property and the driveway is rough. We arrived at 7:30 for a 7:45 and were seated immediately. Once I asked, my wife’s coat was taken to the closet and we took our seats. Fortunately we sat away from the entrance. It was a cold night and a stiff breeze whistled in when the door was opened. That alone would have been a dealbreaker given my wife’s dress. Turns out there was a limited menu with a set price per person. Not unusual for a holiday when crowds are expected. However, the selections that are available had better be good. In this case it was a 50/50. The tomatoes on the salad were the worst I’ve had in a while. The filet was very flavorful and juicy even though it was over cooked. But the quail was not good. The color was off to start. Probably because it was under cooked, as the stuffing was cold. The sides were also a 50/50. The veggies were hot without being over cooked, and flavorful. The potato casserole was cold and bland. Dessert was good. Our server, Amanda, was friendly and entertaining. She took good care of us and we waited for nothing. Overall it was a good experience, just not worth what we paid. One beer, two martinis, two meals, and a tip, $285

Great place, a little hard to find at night, there is no lit signs and there is construction going on. Once in the compound it was like being transferred to another place. Beautiful lights on trees, lit patio and beautiful main building. Staff was amazing food was even better. I had the rack of lamb and I have never tasted lamb as succulent and juicy as theirs. It’s a little pricy but for the type of and quality of the food it’s worth it.

Our server, Tracy, was phenomenal. Very attentive. Friendly. And knew the menu well. More servers could take a lesson from her and I sure themselves quality tips (income). The restaurant as a whole was perfect. We love how it is a renovated old Victorian style home that is modernized but still kept with the nostalgic look. The food was perfect. Kudos to the chef for an amazing lobster bisque, fresh salad and amazing steak. We will be back!!!

Food as always was excellent. It was for Valentines. What I didn’t know before arriving was that it was a fixed price menu. We are not big eaters and would not have gone there if I had known that earlier. Also did not not enjoy the piped in piano music which was playing Christmas music. Wish they could have found some other music to play

We arrived a few minutes before our reservation & were warmly greeted & promptly seated. The owner stopped by the table to welcome us & tell us about the Valentine’s special. I had the Filet, medium rare, it was cooked perfectly. My wife had a seafood dish that was also perfectly prepared. After dinner the owner gave my wife a rose & thanked us for having dinner with them. Great food, great service, great experience, I highly recommend!!

Went for their 5 Course Valentine's dinner. First was sat in a dining section that was as cold as a meat locker with absolutely no heat and very bright lighting, not very romantic. Finally moved to a warmer dining area with dimmed lighting - much more comfortable. We each ordered different Entrées, but were both served tje same exact meal. Instead of 5 courses, we only received 4. Although the food was very good, based on the service and the $100 price tag per person, we will not be returning in the future.
