Whiskey Cake - San Antonio
The large central bar pays homage to great whiskeys with an expansive list of variations. A menu of cocktails features creative concoctions of local spirits with fresh ingredients, evocative of beverages served at a pre-prohibition bar experience.
The contemporary design of reclaimed architectural elements creates an environment that is comfortable and inviting, an ideal spot for dinner after a long workday or a lazy brunch on the weekends.
Great food and outstanding choice of whiskey!
Brunch with my husband, niece in law and a 7,5, and 4 year old nephew and nieces. Perfect location, seating and staff were amazing and the kids loved the pancakes, eggs and bacon! I’m vegetarian and they have options to fit a wide variety of food preference needs.
Superb all the way around! Can’t wait to go back and make brunch at this restaurant a regular occurrence!
We love whiskey cake! This is one of my fave restaurants in SA.
Our server, Josh, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
The food was very good, the service was excellent. It was a very enjoyable experience & we will be back.
Busy so service suffered a little bit but over all great food and ambiance
Cool place, great atmosphere and bar. The whiskey cake dessert is a must.
Will definitely return here. Staff was very friendly. Went for a late Valentine’s Day dinner and we were very impressed.
Food was great. A bit on the noisy side but guess that the environment at the location. Had a special request when I made reservations and they didn’t do anything I asked. Not sure why they have that section on the reservation site if they are not going to accommodate. Staff was great and knowledgeable.
Kale salad was average. Chicken entree was prepared properly and had great flavor just much smaller than led to believe. Service was great, staff was very friendly
My wife and I had some great food and service at Whiskey Cake this weekend. We started with the Goat Cheese Fondue which was Devine - just enough savory snap to go with the cheese and toast points to make it the perfect starter. For dinner I had a premium Ribeye and she had an awesome Short Rib. To end the Perfect evening we shared a Whiskey Cake. It is obvious why this treat is the restaurant’s name sake. So wonderfully decadent. This may be my one favorite dessert that’s not chocolate. On top of it all the ambiance and service were superb. A Top Notch experience in San Antonio.
Amber, our server, was on top of everything and did a fantastic job with recommendations and making our Valentine’s awesome.
The service was great but slow. the whiskey cake and drinks were fantastic.
I ordered the 1/2 chicken and took a bite out of a raw bird before I noticed. The replacement chicken was a quarter size and charred black.
I usually like the place, hoping it was an off night
We love the Goat Cheese Fondue! Instead of going to a steakhouse to celebrate Valentines Day we opted for Whiskey Cake. When a n Appetizer can make a grown man stick his neck out on the women’s day of all days ...... well it’s that good and a delightful change from the old norm !
It was good. Eaten there many times and will return.
Great experience. It was busy for a Valentines Day dinner.
Although the menu is not large, there is something for everyone - sandwiches, entrees, and salads. Save room for the Whiskey Cake at desert - it's delicious.
Food is well-prepared, and our services was good.
We like Whiskey Cake - will keep it on our list of places when we want a nicer meal.
The staff was excellent however I would not recommend ordering the ribeye as it was not what I expected it to be it was tasteless and tough...not what you expect for a ribeye. This was the first steak item I have ever ordered and I have ordered other entrées which I do recommend. Of course the whiskey cake was delicious however I remember the serving being a bit larger. I will go back again as there are items that I do enjoy.
The daily sandwich and cake were to die for! Excellent wait staff too!
Everything was wonderful, especially the wait staff and food.
Loved this place!! My first time there with friends and had amazing service, great food!
My wife and I had been to the Whiskey Cake several times before, and chose it for our 36th wedding anniversary due to our previous experiences. We were not disappointed! We were seated immediately in what they claimed was the best seat in the house, and the service and food were prompt, friendly and extremely attentive. The only (minor) complaint that we have is the very low light level - we are two relatively old folks who have a difficult time reading in low light, so we had a difficult time reading the menus without the aid of our phone flashlight apps - which we know can be very irritating to adjacent diners. Other than that, everything was great, and we will be returning - hopefully many times!
The food was very good but the service was not. It was lunch time and it was not busy and the food took over 45 minutes to arrive so we were all late back to work. Had to flag down our server as there were no updates on the delays and no apologies. When the food arrived 2 of our 7 orders were incorrect and had to be sent back.
The mesquite grilled salmon was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious!
Wonderful experience. Met my son. I did have reservations for 12:30 and it was at least 1 before we were seated. Other than that everything was wonderful!
I was there early and I was able to sit at the bar and get a drink while I waited on my table. It was ready before the reservation time. That was nice. All the staff was SUPER friendly. The bartenders were knowledgeable and kind. I will be back!
The food was amazing and The drink were delicious! The prices were a little high! But worth it for our special occasion
Always great service, delicious food and drinks! Very accommodating to small menu substitutions.
The food is always awesome!
The Whiskey Cake Dessert was amazing!
Had dinner with my Husband after a long week at work. Server was great, food was great, and of course the drinks were great!
Great place to eat. Very fresh and flavorful.
Our waitress was fantastic. Nice, responsive and knowledgeable of the menu.
Everything was good
This is one of my top five best places I love to go!! ❤️
The host seemed very rude and we had a reservation at 8:45pm and we didn’t get seated until like 9:20pm yet other people just seemed to go in front of us very disappointed.
Food and service were excellent. My only complaint is the music was too loud.
Overpriced, small portions at brunch. Disappointing experience at a restaurant that we have always enjoyed for other meals.
Our Waitress was great. Super nice and made great recommendations. I think her name was Nina. My crispy chicken salad was delish!
