I suggested Whisk and our friends had not been there before. The shrimp taco shell tasted like Ortega's taco shells. The fried chicken salad lacked seasoning, except for the salad dressing. The corn bread was ok and the menu sounded interesting but just didn't deliver.

Great food and service! It's a pricey joint, but it's worth it. Wait staff was on the ball all night and they were all in good spirits. We lucked out with parking as there isn't much available-but a spot luckily opened up as we arrived, plus they do valet for only $6. The only negative is that they only serve beer and wine. Wanted an old fashioned, but had to settle for some white wine. Wasn't bad.

Finally got to eat at whisk. Loved it. But was totally disappointed because they were out of the dates! We need to come back and have them next time. Also the ribs were outstanding. Enough to share with 4 with a few appetizers

Grade Inflation. I worry about giving Whisk 4 stars. It can be taken as somewhat of a criticism as I see 5 stars being given out willy-nilly. Whisk's food was delicious . Our party had a very good meal and our service was outstanding (especially in context of one of our group being a very difficult diner). I would go again for a casual well-priced meal when I was in the South Miami area. But would I drive all the way from Broward County for just a regular night out. No. And there are restaurants that we will regularly drive 25 miles or more for because they present a memorable plate. That's what I reserve 5 stars for.

Service was excellent! The ribs were a little dry although the meat fell off the bone. The dates were also on the dry side. The fried green tomatoes were great as was the shrimp and grits. As always love the chips and guacamole , the seasoning on the tortilla chips makes all the difference. All in all think this was just an off day food wise as I have been a handful of times and was always pleased!

service was great. Some dishes hit the mark while others did not. The pork chop was delicious and cooked perfectly. The fried chicken breast was dry.
Wine is on the expensive side for bottles

Excellent fare in a casual setting. One of my favorite spots in the Coral Gables area for a pre-theater dinner

This was my 2nd time dining at Whiskand there definitely will be a 3rd. The menu is perfect, not so many choices as to make your head spin but a wide variety to please all tastes. We started with anorder of fried green tomatoes, delicious. My daughter had the pulled pork burrito and was thrilled with it, my girlfriend tried the crab cakes fell on love, copious amounts of lump crab, little filler. I, being a creature of habit, had the ribs a 2nd time, fork tender and very meaty.
Parking is limited but street parking is close. Valet is available for $6.00

To be honest, we were very disappointed, not sure whether we'll give it another try. We'd heard great things about Whisk and we were really looking forward to trying the fried chicken but we were told it'd run out. At 8:15 PM on a Saturday night? Odd - bad planning? - but OK, we figured we'd just try something else... The shrimp hush puppies, while extremely hot, didn't taste of shrimp or corn; they were bland and mushy, not at all hush puppy-like in texture. The crunchy (?) brussel sprouts were so over-cooked they were dark brown, and we could only eat a few - the bitterness was too overwhelming after a few bites. My husband's pork chop was delicious - juicy and well seasoned - but half the carrots on his plate weren't cooked (and it was an attractive plate). My dinner, honestly, was disastrous. The skirt steak came rare (not medium as requested) and barely warm, the potato croquette: bland and cold, the green beans: cold, unseasoned, and practically raw. I felt like maybe my plate sat around a while waiting on my husband's to be completed. Truthfully, with the exception of the croquette and hush puppies, we have made all those items, the same way, at home ourselves with much better results. The sort of 'at home' rustic ambiance of the place was a nice touch, yeah, but bang-for-buck, we might as well have stayed home. One highlight of the evening: my husband's porter (beer) was excellent, and came in a unique antique style bottle. To their credit, the staff was pleasant and attentive, and the place was bustling, so maybe we just got all the bad luck that night. Everyone else seemed to be enjoying themselves. :(

Unfortunately the steak of our main course seemed to be a poor cut of meat. While seared nicely, it was tough and hard to get through. Appetizers were great and all of the sandwich/burgers that were coming out looked really tasty. Prices were reasonable. Very nice staff.

the potatoes were unedible because how salty they are. the rest of the food was good and it was nice comfort food. I just don't think a "gourmet" restaurant who requires reservations should serve drinks in soda cans and mason jars. if its that type of comfort vibe then there's no need for a snobby hostess and reservations

My husband and I do a lot of dining out and lately we've been dissapointed with many restaurants. This, BY FAR, has been the best restaurant we have been to in the last few months. The flavor from one item to the next was just amazing and extremely flavorful. Even the dessert was delicious. I can't wait to go again.
