Wheatfields Bistro & Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
We were seated at a booth which was plenty big enough for the four of us and it was away from the loud crowd at the bar so it was perfect for being able to have good conversation. I had the lobster ravioli which I thought was excellent. The eggplant rolatini and the chicken rigitone also got a thumbs up from the table.
We took advantage of happy hour and had dinner. The service was great. Even though it was very busy, we had a good experience. I ordered shrimp scampi with rice linguine as I am gluten free, it was a little bland and needed more sauce, but it was ok. My friend had crab cakes which she enjoyed and my other friend had the bolognese and loved it. Overall a great time!
We went for the Monday Meatball Special and were not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious. We were seated in a quiet booth per request. Server was friendly but appeared pre-occupied. Had to ask for our drinks quite awhile after her taking our order, had to ask for water and grated cheese as well. Otherwise it was perfect!
This was our first visit to Wheatfields and we will go again. I had read reivews regarding noise levels and was concerned that it would be too noisy for our older group. The front room where the bar is located is very lively. However the backrooms are very comfortable. We were celebrating the birthday of our 94 year old friend and we were not disturbed at all by the bar. The food was very good - everyone was happy with their meal and deserts. The squash soup was a particular favorite. Tracy, our server was very attentive and our meal was presented flawlessly.
Great place to dine. I had a birthday dinner with my wife and felt as if we made the correct choice on food and atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and cared about the customer. I would recommend the food as it was fresh and lots of thought and preparation when into the meal.
Great work, my birthday felt great!
Our server Kayla was attentive but not intrusive. We went on a Sunday evening, and it was very quiet, just what we wanted. We could take our time and not feel rushed. My friends really enjoyed their pizzas, and my salad was very good. I thought it should have had a few more than 4 small shrimp for $4 extra, but we all enjoyed the wine. I was happy to see that they had Albariño and Verdejo, two of my favorite Spanish wines.
The hostess accommodated our request for a quiet table in the back room. The front room including the bar area seemed a bit loud. The food was delicious and our server was attentive. They have a 3 course meal special for $20 on Thursdays. We all enjoyed our meals.
I was disappointed that when I asked our server about vegan options or vegan versions of what was on the menu, we got the "deer in the headlights" look. Not okay in this day and age when vegan is as mainstream as gluten-free.
We had reservations but were seated at the table right by the door.
The food is good and a little tweaking on their knowledge of alt food preferences will help make it a "five".
We met for lunch and had a reservation. We were seated promptly with our choice of tables.
Our waitress brought us drinks and was great about letting us catch up with each other before ordering!
All of our entrees were tasty, hot and presented well!
We'll definitely come back! Thanks!
Our starter and main course dinner meals both came at a very slow pace. When our main course came all for dishes were called. They seemed like they were kind of crusted over like they have been sitting under a heat lamp for the time while we were eating our appetizer. When we complained about the food the server was apologetic and the manager came over trying to resolve. Their efforts were appreciated but the food still was unsatisfactory.
Our first time visiting Wheatfields even though I have driven by it many times. We will definitely be back. Service was wonderful - attentive without hovering. I decided on the Haddock based on the recommendation of our server and it was spot on! Herb butter served with bread is something I would gladly have every day of the week. Next time in I want to try something from their extensive wine selection. Had the tiramisu for dessert, even though I was full and I only wanted a taste, they was maybe only a bite left when I finished!
This was my 3rd time dining at Wheatfields in Clifton Park and probably my last time. We were seated in a booth which has a nice cozy appearance and was comfortable however it is in front of what must be the bustling, very noisy kitchen. Conversation was difficult due to noise level.
The eggplant in the appetizer was burnt and covered with extra sauce in what seemed to be an attempt to hide it. Three of the 4 meals ordered were excessively salty, almost unpalatable. The rice in the mushroom risotto was a bit al dente, like a slight crunch to it.
The first 2 visits were just ok but this last time sealed the deal. There are plenty of other restaurants in this area. We will give our money to them and look for a better experience and meal.
This was truly one of the worst meals with the lowest service levels of any restaurant I have been to in a long time. Switch waiters on us twice and barely offered any service. Poor timing on delivery of food items including appetizer. Pasta sauce tasted like a came right out of a can from Chef Boyardee. We will never be back in this location dirties the reputation of their Saratoga store.
We visit Wheatfields about every few months and usually have a great time and great meal. We sat outdoors this time so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with the difference in our experience. Service was a little slower which you might expect. But I didn't expect the food to be any less good. Three of us ordered the prime rib special and, honestly, it was just "ok." I don't think I'd order it again. The meat was over cooked for my liking and the broccolini was under cooked. It won't keep me away but this was definitely an off night.
We frequently dine at Wheatfields and on Friday night were seated in a booth that backed up to the kitchen - it was extremely noisy with dishes clanging and the wait staff laughing and very loud. You may want to develop some sort of higher dream to temper the noice level.
Ate a few bites out of my dinner. My daughter didn't even finish her food. Food was below expectations as a first time customer. Took waiter a long time to come back a check on us. By that time my daughter was ready to go and acting up. After explaining to the waiter about our experience all he recommended was us waiting for them to make us a different meal. Which I declined. As a first time customer I expected way more out of the service and food.
