Excellent variety and preparation. Well done.
Food is well prepared and all items demonstrate a creative flair.
We have been coming to What If ever since it changed names from Spinner’s. Never a disappointment. Food is excellent, dark cozy atmosphere. It is a little loud on weekends but the food makes up for this. The crab dip appetizer is a MUST—-they have been making this for eons, and my wife has tried replicating to no avail. Would love the recipe because it is the best crab dip ever! Keep up the strong work.
Our 20th Wedding Anniversary
Have been there many times & usually the service was great. Not sure if they were short handed for the evening, or if they have cut back on staff. Regardless, did not receive the level of service or attention I have come to expect. Food was wonderful as always.
Friendly service and delicious food.
Service was fast and our server checked on us many times. Food was excellent and portions large.
Well, after pulling up to the Restaurant I was kind of apprehensive. However, once we sat down and started getting plates of food that all changed. This place is proof to not judge a book by its cover. Great food and service.
Food and service were excellent
Great place for a quiet meal
We were celebrating our parents 62nd anniversary. We had a reservation with a party of 8 at 4pm on a Sunday which was when they opened. We were the only table there for the majority of the dinner. I will say the food was excellent. But as far as service, we saw our waitress when she took our order, brought the check and maybe once in between. She wasn't easy to track down so I found the hostess... twice... to refill our water glasses and to give us more bread. For a table of 8 we were served 2 small plates of bread. The hostess was excellent, the waitress not too pleasant. Luckily for her a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill for a party of 8 so I guess she was not too worried about it. I would return but hopefully would have better service next time.
A surprising gem downstairs from a HoJo's! Lovely atmosphere and a menu with character.
Food was amazing. Grapefruit martini delicious. Server was great with my 8yo boys who just wanted to chat about their day. Was able to get a reservation same day without difficuktu
Food was excellent. Server, Amber, was great, water refills slow.
Although they were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions of gluten-free, one of our entrees had WAY too much garlic on it, and one of our salads with chicken had a nearly raw chicken breast on it! Our server, Brie, was very friendly and on top of serving us - she was also very shocked to see the raw meat on the salad. However, it was surprising that a manager didn't come over to apologize on behalf of the kitchen staff or to try to accommodate us in any way
The food was REALLY bad. We ordered about 5 small plates plus a salad, kids meal and drinks. It was one of the worst meals we’ve eaten. The restaurant ambiance was pretty poor as well.
Great food! A little dark but no problems!
Very overpriced, food was ok service was fine. Drinks were extremely overpriced- glass of sangria had so much ice in it- after 1 sip the drink was half gone!
Menu very limited and food quality did not match the expense.
The server was young but excellent. He knew the menu and was helpful. The food was excellent.
Sean was our server; great guy. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being annoying. Food was delicious. It is a little loud but I don’t know how you fix that. We will definitely be back. I had heard the food quality had gone down, but was really pleased to see that wasn’t the case.
Always wonderful there it’s a FAVORITE place !!! Never a bad experience!
The restaurant was very nice, and the service was great. Only comment is that the food was rather bland. My filet and my wife’s salmon wild good, but were not seasoned very well at all. Neither were any of the side dishes.
The service was awful. There were only 2 other tables when we arrived. As soon as a large party arrived, we were essentially forgotten about. Our dirty dinner plates sat at the edge of our table for over 15 minutes before they were cleared. Then it took 10 minutes to get a dessert menu. After 20 more minutes of waiting to order our dessert, we just ended up skipping it because it took too long for each step.
Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was exceptional. Great restaurant to take your clients or just out on for a date night.
The steaks were not anything special. They did not have much flavor. The crabcakes was amazing. Great flavor and ALL meat. Broccoli was a little under cooked, but good quality.
Food and drinks are a great value. Always a good experience
Was so thrilled I reserved a table for 8 and everyone raved about it! An excellent choice! Highly recommend!
Once you got over the location in the bottom of the Howard Johnson it was great. Head down the steps to the restaurant, and the decor is great and the food, drinks, and service were top notch. We had a fabulous meal before a concert at Giant Stadium. I highly recommend the martinis :)
We like this place. Service was a bit inattentive this night and we had to ask for break and refills of wine.
Servers were pleasant and responsive when asked. Food was good as always.
Overall the dining experience was very good. Do question the preparation of their chicken picata. Every dining establishment that I have had in the past had it prepared as skinless chicken breasts with the appropriate seasoning. What If's preparation was a half baked chicken (with skin) and appropriate seasonings. Overall this preparation was not as expected and less than enjoyable.
Food so so and bathroom disgustingly dirty so that’s a telltale sign....!
Pleasant experience although some other diners very loud.
Nice meal after a long day at Hershey. It's always good to not have to eat at a theme park and the usual fried unhealthy foods. even though this restaurant is in the basement of a HoJo, it was still a nice relaxing meal with good, tasty options for adults and kids alike. Friendly service from start to finish.
The food was Very Salty.
We had the oven roasted chicken with lemon sauce and the chicken was so salty although we couldn't eat it.
The Salmon was ok.
The roasted potatoes was also very salty.
Great food and service!
Family dinner to celebrate my daughter’s birthday
We really like What If and go there regularly. They are consistently good with reasonable prices. It is time However that they spent a bit to update the restaurant and replace the padding in the booth seats.
We enjoyed a meal with friends. We started by sharing a cheese plate with 4 different cheese, honey, dried figs, grapes and prosciutto. It’s a great way to start! I had the salmon encrusted with herbs. Delicious. 2 others had a pasta dish, which they loved. The third person had a salad with chicken. Again he was very pleased. Our waitperson was knowledgeable, efficient and fun. All in all it was the perfect place to come.
This was the 2nd time we've been to What If... of Hershey, and both times have been very enjoyable. The Scallop and Shrimp Tarragon is fabulous. The Prime Sirloin was absolutely perfect the 1st time; not as good the 2nd time, but okay. Both times, the service was very good.
Excellent service, excellent food. Even when busy, it never feels crowded, noisy, or long wait times. The owner makes it a point to check on her guests. Great spot.
