We were seated promptly with a reservation. While the food was good as usual, it was very slow arriving. We had been seated for 50 minutes. There were several empy tables as well. The server could have been more attentive.

We stumble upon this place by accident and have been back 5x. EVERY SINGLE time the experience is fantastic! Great food, nice staff and healthy options for breakfast! Looking forward to having one of their MASSIVE bloody Mary's.

Chose this for its dog friendly patio.
Waitress immediately brought bowl if water for our little dog.
We were meeting our grandaughter for lunch. Very relaxing, did not feel rushed at all. Perfect for us.

The French dip sandwich was the best I ever had. We both got one and I'm so glad I didn't have to share a single bite with my husband! I had regular fries and he had sweet potato fries. Delicious!

Went for Mothers Day for 2. Made reservation same day with Open Table manager was surprised that we were able to get a reservation and did not seem to happy about it. Seating was at capacity and he was panicking a bit. We were seated at our time however I have been in the past and the business seemed to be understaffed, service slow (waited approx 15-mins) for waiter to greet us. Food mediocre. Again been a few times in the past and excellent food and service. Will just stay away during "holidays".
Overall a good place for Sunday Brunch!

The best spot in Dana Point. Upscale delicious food in a super cute casual environment. Our go-to spot for breakfast & lunch. They could charge so much more for their food, but we appreciate that they don't! Hope their dinner hours start again soon.
Tip: terraced parking avail in the back, as the front is always full as they share with two other busy restaurants.

Mid-week breakfast with family. Excellent omelet and spectacular huevos rancheros. In fact, the huevos rancheros may have been the best I've ever tasted -- beautifully cooked eggs, flavorful black beans, and lovely presentation. Waitress was attentive and kept the hot coffee coming. Altogether a great experience.

We have been going here for almost a year now and have noticed the food and service going downhill. During our last visit, we waited over an hour for the food, it never came and we finally walked out and left. Worse was the rude attitude of the staff, completely oblivious to the long wait (at the table after ordering-not waiting for a table). And not even a courtesy inquiry "Can we get you a muffin, or a croissant while you wait?". One staff person I spoke with stated "That's the way it goes. We are a busy restaurant". And, they were not that busy. Asked to speak with manager, never showed up. He was "too busy" back in the kitchen to appear for a half hour. So, my guests and I finally left. And we were not the only ones. Many better alternatives with more positive staff can be found in Dana Point!

After eating at What a Dish several times, I thought it would be a nice place for a late breakfast on Dec 24. I made a reservations ahead of time, and when we arrived (on time) they seated us outside, where it was cold and windy. I had my 98-year-old mother-in-law with me, and this was her first time here. The service was very slow, lattes were lukewarm, and food was cold. If this had been my first experience here, I would not return, but I will give them another chance as I know they were probably getting ready to close early for Christmas.

The food is great....once we finally were noticed. The gal that told us "sit anywhere you'd like" was a bit cold and off handed. We sat at the table of our choice and waited for 15 mins before we went asking about menus, got menus then waited again 10-12 mins until we went and tracked down a waitress who then was very attentive!

We had a group of 5 for my cousins birthday brunch. Their mimosas are delicious (not too sweet, i hate that), and our waitress did a great job of making sure they stayed "bottomless." Everyone really enjoyed their food. We all got something different and were very satisfied. Their patio seating is such a sweet little area, & was perfect! The tables are a little narrow for how many of us their were, but with a little moving around we made it work.
