What Insiders Are Saying
Westward is a place that will make you excited to live in Seattle. (Or consider buying property here ASAP.)
Great food, great location, service is hit-or-miss.
The setting is great and the food is excellent. There were only 5 of us and we still found it a too loud but that seems to be a thing these days. Still, it would have been nice to be able to talk.
Great spot overlooking the water and downtown Seattle with a special outdoor deck with a fire pit. Really good oyster selection, vegetable sides, egg dishes and snacks to share plus nice beverage list. Make sure you try the butterscotch pot de creme for dessert!
AMAZING food, AMAZING view, and the service was great. Definitely recommend heading over for a sunset dinner or casual brunch on a sunny day.
Too much fusion going on with the food. I had the octopus salad and the pork entrée. Both were carefully crafted but the mix of flavors was confusing. Great service and a remarkable setting.
Great food, great service, a little noisy. As at communal table. Great view.
Brunch menu doesn’t have a lot options. Strange menu. Would recommend going for dinner. Atmosphere is incredible on the water.
Food was great but a bit overpriced. My pork was dry. Husband’s trout was delicious. Desserts were basically 5 bites. Outdoor seating was unfortunately limited to first come.
Great meal. I've been many times and loved it. Finally got to meet chef Will (Gordon?) this time! He seemed like a humble guy considering he cooks such great food. He probably needs a synonym for "rustic" though - he seemed to describe all the food that way. At any rate the food and service were great - my fav dish was a grilled halibut on some grains with pesto. There was a lot going on but it all came together beautifully.
Great service and and the food was on point.
Always a FUN place. Food is outstanding and the service is great.
The appetizers were fantastic, and delicious oysters. The main dishes were not as strong, but good.
Great place with amazing small and large plates. Outstanding views and a wonderful outdoor lounge space with fire pit, make for a happy social experience. Happy hour has $2 oysters and delicious small plates. Cocktails are creative and delicious too! Our server made the evening fun.
It took a while for someone to come wait on our table. After someone did finally come, we learned that there is a very small menu between 3-5pm. The cheese plate that we got off that small menu was good but not worth $18. Overall it was $40 for a small cheese plate and 2 beers. Cool view and atmosphere, but you are definitely paying for it.
Halibut was over cooked. Nice place, experience was ok
Amazing dinner and location. When in Seattle again will certainly be back!
Enjoyed this from start to finish. We arrived about 30 min prior to reservation and sat at the small bar. Well lit and very nice bartender. He was very knowledgeable and we shared some recipes. Were seated at the window and had the carpaccio which was delicious. Top sirloin for husband and tucson cit for me. Cooked to perfection. We shared fries and mushrooms. My husband loved these fries. Bottle of red wine. Well paced if a bit slow. We were never rushed. Would def reccommend
Highly recommend sitting at the bar with Andrew and Pete and letting them be your cocktail guides - you won't regret it!
Creative food and delicious! Service was outstanding.
Great space with inventive decor and amazing views over the lake. Everything on the menu was delicious and although at first it seemed like it was too expensive, actually everyone was very fill and satisfied after the meal.
Our food (lamb and pork) was excellent!
The food was poorly cooked (over cooked fish + a cheese dish that was supposed to be melted soft cheese was fried crisp!). "Large" entrees were small while they were terribly overpriced. The desserts were the same. The 'pot du creme' was like three teaspoons in size and cost $10. The noise level was awful. It was impossible to hear or understand someone across the table from you. All round a rather unpleasant dinner and evening.
Wonderful trout cooked in a wood oven! The Old Fashioned was great as well. Sat the the bar where you can watch the food preparation.
Great food, great ambience, service a little spotty but overall highly recommend!
Incredible brunch experience! The eggs benedict was one of the best in Seattle and if you can find someone to share that with the dutch baby it's the perfect savory and sweet combo. The vibe and view is outstanding. Loved it and can't wait to be back!
This was the third time we have been to Westward. We went there for Sunday brunch. I do suggest you make a reservation. The food before has been very good and the views are lovely. This time I give them 4 stars as our Server was not very attentive and at times I was not sure who our server actually was. The food took a very long time to come out and they were not even really busy. The food was good when it did come out. We did order Bloody Mary's which we sent back as they were not good at all. I do not recommend the Bloody Mary and I saw other people return theirs too. I would go back again and hope the service is better.
First time having brunch here, loved the menu! We have a varied group of eaters and there was something there for everyone! Left feeling satified but not bloated and overly full. Service was amazing, playful banter and helpful suggestions with the menu. We sat at a table that was half way inside and outside (best of both worlds) loved every minute! We’ll be back!
The view is great! I went for brunch and ordered the Dutch baby pancake which had zero flavor and was overpriced at $16. I'd love to go back to sit in the adirondack chairs for drinks and to simply enjoy the view.
So great and the service was amazing ! The oysters were so good and the bartender was creative and fun
Exceeded our expectations! The outdoor seating was charming. The city as a back drop at sunset was incredible. The food and service were spot on. A lovely time.
Lounging on the deck was great not to mention the weather helped out immensely. I’d recommend going in the summer.
All things are beautiful at westward. Gorgeous setting, beautiful food. The service is the only thing lacking at Westward. The hostess was warm and lovely, but I’ve never had a server who seemed interested in my dining experience. Maybe they think the view is so beautiful, the service doesn’t matter? Who knows. Always perplexes me.
Not the best dinner experience... service was poor and menu is limited.
It’s just good for any occasion !
Varied menu with lots of unique items. Very attentive staff and everyone was helpful and happy. We watched the variety of dishes created and cooked in their wood fired oven. Impressive operation overall.
We finally sat down at our table more than 30 minutes after our reservation time. The food was excellent and the view is fantastic.
The view is great. The adirondack chairs are novel. The food is very good, but not incredible...so it's a so-so value. Go on a beautiful day and have a nice meal. It's a treat...but maybe a once every year or two thing.
Wait staff was friendly and very knowledgable. The menu is small but everything is very good and well prepared. One of the best pork chops I have ever had.
Great for food, and amazing views of Seattle. right on the waterfront. We have the Salmon gravlax and fish benedict. Both excellent. Woodfire potatoes were terrific.
