Superb. First time visiting. We'll be coming back often.
Food was fantastic, though service was good it was not so friendly or warm, very efficient and robotic in manner, we felt extremely rushed due to service repeatedly coming back to the table too often interrupting our conversation and then zealously attempting to remove the plates and clear the table before we had finished, as a result of feeling rushed we were not relaxed and this disturbed a long arranged catch-up with friends from out of town who had not been seen for some time. We then wanted to order coffee after eating but the bill was already delivered to the table without us requesting it? So we got up and went someone where else. Real shame.
Appreciated getting a larger table at the last minute! Nice location. The waitress was absent for long stretches of time, and it did take a while for the food to arrive. I needed more salad dressing, and had half the salad gone by the time I finally got her attention. Other than that, nice experience (except for noise).
Great brunch, reasonable prices
Easy to review-everything was perfect. Server, food and price.
Service was decent. Food was not that good. I ordered a teriyaki glazed salmon and it was way over salted (almost inedible). I also ordered “Brussel sprout poppers” and they were so deep fried that they lost any semblance to a vegetable. Service was pretty fast though. Ambience was ok.
There are many dining options in this neighborhood, and Westville stands out as a casual place with a great bar and affordable, simple, tasty, healthy food options. Many gatherings of friends and families too.
I always love every westville! Never had a bad experience, and if you’re looking for a little more space and a guarantee of a seat, Westville Hudson does that for you.
We booked a table for drinks and nosh to celebrate a colleague going on leave. Our table for ten was ready , first to arrive were seated without hassle, waitstaff was awesome, drinks and beers were great and very reasonable during happy hour.
good comfort food
Stick to the salads and burgers. Ive had them before and they are good. The entree special - hangar steak - was poorly executed and a mish mash.
Good quality food, a much livelier ambiance than the other manhattan locations we have visited.
Eating at Westville is always a happy experience. We love the range of choices—truly something for everyone—and the food is always fresh and delicious and the service prompt and friendly. I often have the kale salad with chicken, which is scrumptious and healthy at the same time, but you can also dive into a big burger and fries along with other more hearty and substantial options. I love the fact that they offer so many great veggie side dishes—that is their trademark and they do it beautifully. Last time I went, four of us shared a side plate of roasted cauliflower with tahini, Brussels sprouts, and grilled asparagus with Parmesan and frankly that could have been a main course in and of itself. The Tribeca location is bigger than some of the others, but it’s always bustling so, if you can, it’s a smart idea to make a reservation—even for lunch!
Delicious breakfast in a cute setting. No crowd at 10 am Saturday so service was fast. Create-your-own breakfast egg scramble was yummy and avocado toast was excellent . truffle fries for the table were delicious too.
Westville Hudson is perfect for a fun gathering over delicious, affordable food. A gem in NYC
As always the food is great and the wait staff is professional and friendly. Arrived early so it was quiet. Noise level elevated as it got later.
We have eaten dinner here several times and are never disappointed. The food is simple, by which I mean it shines on its own without a need for embellishments that don’t belong. Service is friendly and prompt, and although it is generally crowded, we have not felt rushed. The one problem we had on Sunday night was the cappuccino, which was muddy tasting and undrinkable. We did not complain, but the server should have noticed that none of the people in our party drank it.
Great food , ambiance and staff! Absolutely love this place!
I like this place - a lot - and I was disappointed last night. I ordered the asparagus, crab cakes, Caeser Salad, the steak with a side of mushrooms, and the peanut butter cookie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The was enough for the two of us - and we enjoyed two Macallans each. The waiter was attentive - great, however I was disappointed at being rushed - the place had many open tables. My server offered to bring out the crab cakes, salad and asparagus prior to the steak - however it all came out at the same time - the tables are small and the food comes out nicely presented on larges dishes - there's no way close to enough to enough room for all the food they brought out. My medium rare steak was sent back the kitchen and placed under the heating lamp - something that always makes me cringe. The biggest let down was that after asking our server whether the peanut butter cookie was also gooey like the chocolate ship cookie - it came out cold and hard. This morning I received a message that I didn't attend my reservation. The hostess asked, and she clearly acknowledged the fact that I had a reservation when I gave her my name.
This place is a real gem. We found it by chance while looking for a restaurant close to the theater in west village. The place exceeded our expectations on every level, the ambiance, the food, the originality of the menu, the service, the friendliness of the staff. I very highly recommend it.
