We look forward to your visit.
We were there for Happy Hour and had a great time! Our server was wonderful and the food delicious. Always one of our favorite happy hour and dinner spots!
Great little French restaurant, great food,
Food with flavor and service with a friendly smile. Couldn't be happier.
Westport Cafe has always been consistent with meals and customer service. Outstanding!
Charming French restaurant - great drink choices and a varied menu. We had the specials for the night - a terrific take on French onion soup (blended and poured over bread w/melted cheese), and a wonderful beef pot roast like dish. Excellent overall experience - we will be back!
This is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is outstanding, as well as the service. The owner always comes around and speaks to us and really makes us feel like we are the only customers in the restaurant. We love the “reimagined” French onion soup, steak and fries, and the bread pudding. You’re just not going to find anything bad on the menu.
Lindsey was our waitress (sorry if spelled Lindsay), and she is fantastic. My husband and I went for the Tuesday night steak and frites special, and it was clear that the kitchen didn’t treat it as “cheap special night.” The steak was perfectly cooked. We will be back soon and request her section. Thank you!
Westport Cafe remains one of our favorite KCMO places. It is in an intimate setting, with always great service, and a fabulous kitchen and chef.
Food quality and taste are excellent. Service was prompt and servers are friendly while not being over attentive. Men’s bathroom walls need a thorough dusting otherwise an excellent overall experience. Will return and recommend 😊
I normally love Westport Cafe, but the Tuesday steak soirée special was underwhelming. ☹️
Food was fantastic. Service was fantastic.
Noise level (people talking) was so loud it was difficult to converse.
Excellent food and service, we will be back; Highly recommend!
I was there for Sunday brunch. One of my companions and I ordered the Eggs Norwegian, and both of us would definitely order it again. My wife enjoyed the sliced steak and egg, and my other companion loved the shrimp & polenta. The brunch is a good deal, and the restaurant isn't very loud, even when crowded. I strongly recommend making a reservation for Sunday brunch, if you're arriving before 1:00 pm.
Excellent food, ambiance and service. Got the filet on special, steak tartar was fantastic and argula salad with bread pudding for dessert - very good.
This is my all time favorite place for any occasion!
Great little place and the food was great and server was extremely efficient and kind
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved Westport Cafe & Bar! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly smile. Our server was very attentive and our food was out quickly considering the amount of customers that were present. I had the classic B&G and it was one of the best biscuits and gravy I've had in the Kansas City area! Overall...great food, great staff and sweet atmosphere!
WCB was delicious. We had the leek and potato soup, beet salad, and two beef dishes. Service was friendly and efficient. Great place and we will be back!
Wonderful food and excellent service!
Great ambiance too in a small space. Elegant
but informal and comfortable.
We went for brunch on a Sunday, the food was excellent and our server Alonzo was fabulous, great tips and recommendations. My friends had the shrimp and polenta and it was a little short on the shrimp but the flavor of the dish was fantastic. All in all I would say try it for brunch, you'll love it.
We come to this restaurant often and usually it is wonderful on all marks. However, this visit it was our anniversary and since I had noted it on the reservation I had thought that maybe we would have a nice table, but we were just seated at the first table as we walked in the door. Server hovered a lot and we were just trying to course out our meal and enjoy each other’s company. Then, he got busy and we didn’t see him until we paid. Food was good but not as good as usual. We’ll be back, but hopefully it will be better.
This restaurant was great for brunch with my family. The servers were polite and professional. It is really busy for brunch on Sundays so book a reservation and arrive early.
Food was delicious! Not a very big space. Menu isn’t huge, but what we had was really good.
We’ve been to Westport Cafe many times and enjoyed lovely meals. Saturday night was certainly the exception.
We had an AWFUL experience. Our reservation was at
6:15 pm. Even though we told our server Lincoln that we were going to the theater and needed to be out by
7:30 pm, our dinners didn’t come until 7:15 pm! My husband’s steak frites was served cold and overcooked with soggy frites. My beet salad was delicious. However, my crab cake was inedible!!! The crab cake was RAW inside and the lemon sauce was overpowering and tasted like lemon concentrate. Our dinners were comped, but the manager made a real faux pas. He didn’t bother to come over and introduce himself and apologize for the terrible evening.
We always enjoy Westport Cafe & Bar--it's a quaint neighborhood restaurant with great food at a reasonable price. A little touch of France in KC.
The food at WCB is consistently excellent. We had the Happy Hour special and had 4-5 small plates including steak frites, lamb kabobs, and the cheese plate. All excellent. The wine list, while small, is excellent. We had a white CdP which Kevin (the owner and our server) helped us to pick. WCB is a bistro-like setting surrounded by brick walls so the noise can get a little loud. My only slight criticism was the service seemed a little slow at times. It is MUCH better than the previous ownership and perhaps it is Kevin’s way of teaching us to slow down and eat like the French. Eat and drink here and you will be happy.
I took my daughter to Westport Cafe & Bar before the ballet. Lindsey provided excellent service and was very helpful with our wine and food selection. The entire experience was delightful. We will be returning customers.
This a favorite spot. Went for brunch and all of the items were very good. It was a very cold day outside, and every time the door opened, we got a blast of arctic air. If the weathet is cold, request a table in the back.
The temperature in the front half of the restaurant is very cold due to draft coming through front door in the winter. My cocktail glass was dirty, burnt Texas Toast was served with chicken liver mousse, the server wasn't that familiar with the menu. I've heard great things about this place, but not worth it.
Excellent - wait staff was 5 stars and the food was delicious as always
We went for our first time for Restaurant Week. The food was all very good, but the appetizers were outstanding! We’ll be back!
What a nice place!! Hadn’t been here since it was a previous restaurant. My chef daughter and son in law recommended it to me. I was not disappointed one bit!! Nice little French bistro!! Menu was varied enough for any pocket book and great wine selection!.
The food took quite a while, but when it came it was quite delicious. Service wasn’t great, as we often went without water and why we needed. There was a party of about 8 that took our servers priority, which was too bad. I’ll still probably go back, but it was a slight disappointment.
Checking out some brunch places on a Christmas trip to visit family
Always a fantastic brunch!
The food was creative and well prepared as always. Nice twist on some dishes like the French onion soup and French Lasagna. Variety of flavors and textures of food. Always a great moment or two from the food.
Wonderful food and the service was fantastic. We will be back for sure!
The food was excellent! It was the Saturday night before Christmas, so the restaurant was very busy. Service was a bit slow. Our table was next to a larger work party, so it was very loud.
Great brunch menu selection, including cocktails! Service was very good. Would highly recomme d.
