Very fun night with a reading of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol in between courses of a prix fixe dinner. Soup course was good but could have been a little tastier, salad course was fresh and quite tasty. Entree choices we chose were a beef tenderloin and duck confit. Both were excellent. Great crispy skin on the duck. For desert we had tiramasu, which was okay, but a little bland compared to others we have had. The man doing the reading, “Mr. Pickwick”, did an excellent job reading an abbreviated version of the story. The evening ended with the conclusion to the story along with a toast for everyone of a mulled wine drink called a Smoking Bishop. MoreOpenTable Diner -
We started with our usual the fabulous cerviche sampler. Always great. My wife had the shrimp meatballs which were good, the fingerling potato’s that accompanied it were perfectly done. I had the boullaibase, excellent broth, scallops exactly done, shrimp a bit tough but shrimp is just like that especially in a combo dish. Don’t miss the mojitos, best ever. MoreOpenTable Diner -

Some of the area chefs in Asheville have nicknamed their town "Foodtopia" because of the area's well-known creative passion for great cuisine. Culinary experts throughout the entire western portion of North Carolina appear to have adopted this sentiment. Elegant fine dining establishments can be found alongside mid-priced luncheonettes. You can find a creative local deli for sandwiches, soups, and salads. Your hotel's dining area may turn out to be a five-star restaurant. Whether you're in Asheville or another Western North Carolina hub, there is no shortage of high-quality food choices. European flavors are popular; German schnitzel with spaetzle shows up on menus around town. Mexican fare is another plentiful option, and Caribbean spices have found a place in the Asheville area too. Many local menus provide vegetarian and vegan choices as well as gluten-free options.
