West Side Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Although relatively expensive, this was a memorable place in New York for a good Steak Experience. Staff great and friendly. Cost of meal for two with no starters, but Steak mains with two sides, a beer and a coke and one sweet between two was about $140 including tax but before gratuities. As I say, not cheap but excellent Steak cooked perfectly.
We were in NYC on an anniversary trip and wanted a nice steak dinner while we were there. Excellent meal and service. We had the shrimp cocktail, both ordered filets (one with shrimp scampi and one without), roasted garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli, cheesecake. Sides were large enough to share. Our filets were tender and flavorful. The scampi was delicious and potatoes were some of the best we've had dining out. Great ambiance as well. Would eat here again.
The place was small but clean and had a nice atmosphere. The service was good.
Everything is served ala carte. The little rolls were very good and sides dishes were on the small side but very tasty. We ordered steaks and mine was very tender but "cold". Didn't want to send it back cause we were going to the theatre. I should have! My daughter said she enjoyed her dinner.
My daughter also noticed that some of the servers were eating in full view of the dinners. She thought this was unacceptable.
This wasn't the worst place but I don't know if I would go back.
I recently dined at West Side Steak House with family from out of town. The food was very good, although my hamburger was over cooked and no one seemed to care. We needed to ask for water several times, the bus person kept trying to remove my plate several times even after I said I was still eating. Service was very indifferent. I should have spoken up. :(
Good food in a nice restaurant. The service was good with friendly staff. We were made very welcome. There was a good selection of food on the menu. A little bit pricey but New York is in comparison to our hometown in the UK. The restaurant was clean and fairly stylish. There was a group of six of us, all adults. We really enjoyed our steaks.
We had a great meal here, if you are looking for good steak at a reasonable price. Simple surroundings but had a great feel. We had one porterhouse and one rib eye and they were perfect. The side orders were really tasty too, not just simple mash or potatoes but with garlic etc. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful with our choices. The whole meal was the best we had while in New York and we went to some expensive protentious places. Thanks guys
My husband, myself, and another couple ate here last week after consulting Trip Advisor for a good steakhouse that wouldn't cost a fortune. The atmosphere is not the best (I don't think a steakhouse should have a distracting tv playing in the background) but the prices were reasonable for NYC and the steaks were excellent. If you want tasty food and can overlook the surroundings a bit this is a very good choice.
The place was not the big, loud NYC Steakhouse I've gone to in the past. It was small and mostly quiet. It being a residential neighborhood made the outdoor scenery more enjoyable. Lots of dogs in that area! Our waiter (Wade) was helpful, professional and a good sense of humor. A bit below the other steakhouses on price. But the food just as good. They let us eat and relax at our own pace. More for locals than the tourists. Love that.
My date and I had an amazing first experience at West Side Steakhouse. Who knew this hidden gem could offer the same fine dining experience as Ruth Chris or Del Frisco's would but for a more affordable price range. No corners were cut when it came to our dinning experience...in fact my date said it was the best steak he ever had in his life! I'll definitely be back again.
